1 D eliver me, O Jehovah, from the evil man; Preserve me from the violent man:

Líbrame, oh Señor, de los hombres malignos; Guárdame de los hombres violentos,

2 W ho devise mischiefs in their heart; Continually do they gather themselves together for war.

Que traman maldades en su corazón; Que cada día provocan guerras.

3 T hey have sharpened their tongue like a serpent; Adders' poison is under their lips. Selah

4 K eep me, O Jehovah, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from the violent man: Who have purposed to thrust aside my steps.

Guárdame, Señor, de las manos del impío; Protégeme de los hombres violentos, Que se han propuesto hacerme tropezar.

5 T he proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set gins for me. Selah

Los soberbios han ocultado trampa y cuerdas para mí; Han tendido red al borde del sendero; Me han puesto lazos. (Selah)

6 I said unto Jehovah, Thou art my God: Give ear unto the voice of my supplications, O Jehovah.

7 O Jehovah the Lord, the strength of my salvation, Thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Oh Dios, Señor, poder de mi salvación, Tú cubriste mi cabeza en el día de la batalla.

8 G rant not, O Jehovah, the desires of the wicked; Further not his evil device, lest they exalt themselves. Selah

No concedas, Señor, los deseos del impío; No hagas prosperar sus malos designios, para que no se exalten. (Selah)

9 A s for the head of those that compass me about, Let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

En cuanto a los que me rodean, Que la malicia de sus labios los cubra.

10 L et burning coals fall upon them: Let them be cast into the fire, Into deep pits, whence they shall not rise.

Caigan sobre ellos carbones encendidos; Sean arrojados en el fuego, En abismos profundos de donde no se puedan levantar.

11 A n evil speaker shall not be established in the earth: Evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

Que el hombre de mala lengua no permanezca en la tierra; Que al hombre violento lo persiga el mal implacablemente.”

12 I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And justice for the needy.

Yo sé que el Señor sostendrá la causa del afligido, Y el derecho de los pobres.

13 S urely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: The upright shall dwell in thy presence.

Ciertamente los justos darán gracias a Tu nombre, Y los rectos morarán en Tu presencia.
