1 I n the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

Sólo que los lugares altos no fueron quitados. El pueblo todavía sacrificaba y quemaba incienso en los lugares altos.

5 A nd Jehovah smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king's son was over the household, judging the people of the land.

Y el Señor hirió al rey, y quedó leproso hasta el día de su muerte. Y habitó en una casa separada, mientras Jotam, hijo del rey, estaba al frente de la casa, gobernando al pueblo de la tierra.

10 A nd Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

Entonces Salum, hijo de Jabes, conspiró contra él y lo hirió delante del pueblo y lo mató, y reinó en su lugar.

Los demás hechos de Zacarías, están escritos en el Libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel.

12 T his was the word of Jehovah which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons to the fourth generation shall sit upon the throne of Israel. And so it came to pass.

Esta es la palabra que el Señor habló a Jehú: “Tus hijos hasta la cuarta generación se sentarán en el trono de Israel.” Y así fue.

13 S hallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned the space of a month in Samaria.

14 A nd Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

Entonces Manahem, hijo de Gadi, subió de Tirsa y vino a Samaria, e hirió a Salum, hijo de Jabes, en Samaria, y lo mató y reinó en su lugar.

16 T hen Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the borders thereof, from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.

18 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.

Hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor; en todos sus días no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, hizo pecar a Israel.

19 T here came against the land Pul the king of Assyria; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

Pul (Tiglat Pileser III), rey de Asiria, vino contra el país, y Manahem dio a Pul 34 toneladas de plata para que su mano estuviera con él para fortalecer el reino bajo su mando.

20 A nd Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

Entonces Manahem exigió este dinero a Israel, a todos los ricos poderosos, de cada uno cincuenta siclos (570 gr) de plata para pagar al rey de Asiria. Y el rey de Asiria se volvió y no se detuvo allí en el país.

24 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.

25 A nd Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the castle of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites: and he slew him, and reigned in his stead.

Entonces su oficial, Peka, hijo de Remalías, conspiró contra él y lo hirió en Samaria, en la ciudadela de la casa del rey, y también a Argob y a Arie; y con él estaban cincuenta hombres de los hijos de los Galaaditas. Lo mató y reinó en su lugar.

En el año cincuenta y dos de Azarías, rey de Judá, Peka, hijo de Remalías, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en Samaria, y reinó veinte años.

28 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.

Hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor; no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, hizo pecar a Israel.

29 I n the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maacah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria.

En los días de Peka, rey de Israel, vino Tiglat Pileser, rey de Asiria, y tomó Ijón, Abel Bet Maaca, Janoa, Cedes, Hazor, Galaad y Galilea, toda la tierra de Neftalí; y se los llevó cautivos a Asiria.

30 A nd Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

Oseas, hijo de Ela, tramó una conspiración contra Peka, hijo de Remalías, y lo hirió y le dio muerte; y reinó en su lugar, en el año veinte de Jotam, hijo de Uzías.

32 I n the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

En el segundo año de Peka, hijo de Remalías, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Jotam, hijo de Uzías, rey de Judá.

33 F ive and twenty years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok.

Tenía veinticinco años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dieciséis años en Jerusalén; y el nombre de su madre era Jerusa, hija de Sadoc.

34 A nd he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah; he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

Hizo lo recto ante los ojos del Señor; hizo conforme a todo lo que su padre Uzías había hecho.

35 H owbeit the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. He built the upper gate of the house of Jehovah.

Sólo que los lugares altos no fueron quitados. El pueblo todavía sacrificaba y quemaba incienso en los lugares altos. El edificó la puerta superior de la casa del Señor.

37 I n those days Jehovah began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

En aquellos días el Señor comenzó a enviar a Rezín, rey de Aram, y a Peka, hijo de Remalías, contra Judá.

38 A nd Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.

Jotam durmió con sus padres, y fue sepultado con ellos en la ciudad de su padre David; y su hijo Acaz reinó en su lugar.
