1 T ambién les refirió Jesús una parábola sobre la necesidad de orar siempre, y no desmayar,

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,

2 d iciendo: Había en una ciudad un juez, que ni temía a Dios, ni respetaba a hombre.

saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.

3 H abía también en aquella ciudad una viuda, la cual venía a él, diciendo: Hazme justicia de mi adversario.

Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’

4 Y él no quiso por algún tiempo; pero después de esto dijo dentro de sí: Aunque ni temo a Dios, ni tengo respeto a hombre,

And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man,

5 s in embargo, porque esta viuda me es molesta, le haré justicia, no sea que viniendo de continuo, me agote la paciencia.

yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’”

6 Y dijo el Señor: Oíd lo que dijo el juez injusto.

Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said.

7 ¿ Y acaso Dios no hará justicia a sus escogidos, que claman a él día y noche? ¿Se tardará en responderles?

And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?

8 O s digo que pronto les hará justicia. Pero cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre, ¿hallará fe en la tierra? Parábola del fariseo y el publicano

I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

9 A unos que confiaban en sí mismos como justos, y menospreciaban a los otros, dijo también esta parábola:

Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

10 D os hombres subieron al templo a orar: uno era fariseo, y el otro publicano.

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

11 E l fariseo, puesto en pie, oraba consigo mismo de esta manera: Dios, te doy gracias porque no soy como los otros hombres, ladrones, injustos, adúlteros, ni aun como este publicano;

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

12 a yuno dos veces a la semana, doy diezmos de todo lo que gano.

I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’

13 M as el publicano, estando lejos, no quería ni aun alzar los ojos al cielo, sino que se golpeaba el pecho, diciendo: Dios, sé propicio a mí, pecador.

And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’

14 O s digo que éste descendió a su casa justificado antes que el otro; porque cualquiera que se enaltece, será humillado; y el que se humilla será enaltecido. Jesús bendice a los niños (Mt. 19. 13-15; Mr. 10. 13-16)

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Jesus Blesses Little Children

15 T raían a él los niños para que los tocase; lo cual viendo los discípulos, les reprendieron.

Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

16 M as Jesús, llamándolos, dijo: Dejad a los niños venir a mí, y no se lo impidáis; porque de los tales es el reino de Dios.

But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

17 D e cierto os digo, que el que no recibe el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él. El joven rico (Mt. 19. 16-30; Mr. 10. 17-31)

Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” Jesus Counsels the Rich Young Ruler

18 U n hombre principal le preguntó, diciendo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para heredar la vida eterna?

Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

19 J esús le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Ninguno hay bueno, sino sólo Dios.

So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

20 L os mandamientos sabes: No adulterarás; no matarás; no hurtarás; no dirás falso testimonio; honra a tu padre y a tu madre.

You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ”

21 É l dijo: Todo esto lo he guardado desde mi juventud.

And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.”

22 J esús, oyendo esto, le dijo: Aún te falta una cosa: vende todo lo que tienes, y dalo a los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme.

So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

23 E ntonces él, oyendo esto, se puso muy triste, porque era muy rico.

But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich. With God All Things Are Possible

24 A l ver Jesús que se había entristecido mucho, dijo:!! Cuán difícilmente entrarán en el reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!

And when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!

25 P orque es más fácil pasar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que entrar un rico en el reino de Dios.

For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

26 Y los que oyeron esto dijeron: ¿Quién, pues, podrá ser salvo?

And those who heard it said, “Who then can be saved?”

27 É l les dijo: Lo que es imposible para los hombres, es posible para Dios.

But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

28 E ntonces Pedro dijo: He aquí, nosotros hemos dejado nuestras posesiones y te hemos seguido.

Then Peter said, “See, we have left all and followed You.”

29 Y él les dijo: De cierto os digo, que no hay nadie que haya dejado casa, o padres, o hermanos, o mujer, o hijos, por el reino de Dios,

So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,

30 q ue no haya de recibir mucho más en este tiempo, y en el siglo venidero la vida eterna. Nuevamente Jesús anuncia su muerte (Mt. 20. 17-19; Mr. 10. 32-34)

who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.” Jesus a Third Time Predicts His Death and Resurrection

31 T omando Jesús a los doce, les dijo: He aquí subimos a Jerusalén, y se cumplirán todas las cosas escritas por los profetas acerca del Hijo del Hombre.

Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be accomplished.

32 P ues será entregado a los gentiles, y será escarnecido, y afrentado, y escupido.

For He will be delivered to the Gentiles and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon.

33 Y después que le hayan azotado, le matarán; mas al tercer día resucitará.

They will scourge Him and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.”

34 P ero ellos nada comprendieron de estas cosas, y esta palabra les era encubierta, y no entendían lo que se les decía. Un ciego de Jericó recibe la vista (Mt. 20. 29-34; Mr. 10. 46-52)

But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know the things which were spoken. A Blind Man Receives His Sight

35 A conteció que acercándose Jesús a Jericó, un ciego estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando;

Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging.

36 y al oír a la multitud que pasaba, preguntó qué era aquello.

And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant.

37 Y le dijeron que pasaba Jesús nazareno.

So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.

38 E ntonces dio voces, diciendo:!! Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí!

And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

39 Y los que iban delante le reprendían para que callase; pero él clamaba mucho más:!! Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí!

Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

40 J esús entonces, deteniéndose, mandó traerle a su presencia; y cuando llegó, le preguntó,

So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him,

41 d iciendo: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? Y él dijo: Señor, que reciba la vista.

saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.”

42 J esús le dijo: Recíbela, tu fe te ha salvado.

Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.”

43 Y luego vio, y le seguía, glorificando a Dios; y todo el pueblo, cuando vio aquello, dio alabanza a Dios.

And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
