1 C ertamente Deus é bom para Israel, para os puros de coração.

Truly God is good to Israel, even to those who are upright and pure in heart.

2 Q uanto a mim, os meus pés quase tropeçaram; por pouco não escorreguei.

But as for me, my feet were almost gone, my steps had well-nigh slipped.

3 P ois tive inveja dos arrogantes quando vi a prosperidade desses ímpios.

For I was envious of the foolish and arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 E les não passam por sofrimento e têm o corpo saudável e forte.

For they suffer no violent pangs in their death, but their strength is firm.

5 E stão livres dos fardos de todos; não são atingidos por doenças como os outros homens.

They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they smitten and plagued like other men.

6 P or isso o orgulho lhes serve de colar, e eles se vestem de violência.

Therefore pride is about their necks like a chain; violence covers them like a garment.

7 D o seu íntimo brota a maldade; da sua mente transbordam maquinações.

Their eyes stand out with fatness, they have more than heart could wish; and the imaginations of their minds overflow.

8 E les zombam e falam com más intenções; em sua arrogância ameaçam com opressão.

They scoff, and wickedly utter oppression; they speak loftily.

9 C om a boca arrogam a si os céus, e com a língua se apossam da terra.

They set their mouths against and speak down from heaven, and their tongues swagger through the earth.

10 P or isso o seu povo se volta para eles e bebe suas palavras até saciar-se.

Therefore His people return here, and waters of a full cup are drained by them.

11 E les dizem: “Como saberá Deus? Terá conhecimento o Altíssimo?”

And they say, How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?

12 A ssim são os ímpios; sempre despreocupados, aumentam suas riquezas.

Behold, these are the ungodly, who always prosper and are at ease in the world; they increase in riches.

13 C ertamente foi-me inútil manter puro o coração e lavar as mãos na inocência,

Surely then in vain have I cleansed my heart and washed my hands in innocency.

14 p ois o dia inteiro sou afligido, e todas as manhãs sou castigado.

For all the day long have I been smitten and plagued, and chastened every morning.

15 S e eu tivesse dito: Falarei como eles, teria traído os teus filhos.

Had I spoken thus, I would have been untrue and have dealt treacherously against the generation of Your children.

16 Q uando tentei entender tudo isso, achei muito difícil para mim,

But when I considered how to understand this, it was too great an effort for me and too painful

17 a té que entrei no santuário de Deus, e então compreendi o destino dos ímpios.

Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end.

18 C ertamente os pões em terreno escorregadio e os fazes cair na ruína.

You do set the in slippery places; You cast them down to ruin and destruction.

19 C omo são destruídos de repente, completamente tomados de pavor!

How they become a desolation in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors!

20 S ão como um sonho que se vai quando acordamos; quando te levantares, Senhor, tu os farás desaparecer.

As a dream until one awakens, so, O Lord, when You arouse Yourself, You will despise their outward show.

21 Q uando o meu coração estava amargurado e no íntimo eu sentia inveja,

For my heart was grieved, embittered, and in a state of ferment, and I was pricked in my heart.

22 a gi como insensato e ignorante; minha atitude para contigo era a de um animal irracional.

So foolish, stupid, and brutish was I, and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.

23 C ontudo, sempre estou contigo; tomas a minha mão direita e me susténs.

Nevertheless I am continually with You; You do hold my right hand.

24 T u me diriges com o teu conselho, e depois me receberás com honras.

You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to honor and glory.

25 A quem tenho nos céus senão a ti? E na terra, nada mais desejo além de estar junto a ti.

Whom have I in heaven but You? And I have no delight or desire on earth besides You.

26 O meu corpo e o meu coração poderão fraquejar, mas Deus é a força do meu coração e a minha herança para sempre.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever.

27 O s que te abandonam sem dúvida perecerão; tu destróis todos os infiéis.

For behold, those who are far from You shall perish; You will destroy all who are false to You and like harlots depart from You.

28 M as, para mim, bom é estar perto de Deus; fiz do Soberano Senhor o meu refúgio; proclamarei todos os teus feitos.

But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God and made Him my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works.
