Then we turned and went up the road to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.

And the Lord said to me, Do not fear him, for I have given him and all his people and his land into your hand; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.

3 “ Então o Senhor, o nosso Deus, também entregou em nossas mãos Ogue, rei de Basã, e todo o seu exército. Nós os derrotamos, sem deixar nenhum sobrevivente.

So the Lord our God also gave into our hands Og king of Bashan and all his people, and we smote him until not one was left to him.

4 N aquela ocasião conquistamos todas as suas cidades. Não houve cidade que não tomássemos. Foram sessenta em toda a região de Argobe, o reino de Ogue, em Basã.

And we took all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we did not take from them, sixty cities, the whole region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

5 T odas elas eram fortificadas com muros altos, portas e trancas. Além delas havia muitas cidades sem muros.

All these cities were fortified with high and haughty walls, gates, and bars, besides a great many unwalled villages.

6 N ós as destruímos completamente, tal como havíamos feito com Seom, rei de Hesbom, destruindo todas as cidades, matando também os homens, as mulheres e as crianças.

And we utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every city—men, women, and children.

7 M as os animais todos e o despojo das cidades tomamos como espólio de guerra.

But all the cattle and the spoil of the cities we took for booty for ourselves.

8 “ Foi assim que, naquela ocasião, tomamos desses dois reis amorreus o território a leste do Jordão, que vai desde o ribeiro do Arnom até o monte Hermom.

So we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the Valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon

(The Sidonians call Hermon, Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir),

All the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan as far as Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

13 O restante de Gileade e também toda a Basã, o reino de Ogue, dei-o à metade da tribo de Manassés. (Toda a região de Argobe em Basã era conhecida no passado como a terra dos refains.

The rest of Gilead and all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, that is, all the region of Argob in Bashan, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh. It is called the land of Rephaim.

The Arabah also, with the Jordan as its boundary, from Chinnereth as far as the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the cliffs of Pisgah on the east.

18 “ Naquela ocasião eu lhes ordenei o seguinte: O Senhor, o Deus de vocês, deu-lhes esta terra para que dela tomem posse. Todos os guerreiros devem marchar à frente dos seus irmãos israelitas, armados para a guerra!

And I commanded you at that time, saying, The Lord your God has given you this land to possess it; you shall go over armed before your brethren the other Israelites, all that are able for war.

19 D eixem nas cidades que lhes dei as mulheres, as crianças e os grandes rebanhos, que eu sei que vocês possuem,

But your wives and your little ones and your cattle—I know that you have many cattle—shall remain in your cities which I have given you,

20 a té que o Senhor conceda descanso aos seus outros irmãos israelitas como deu a vocês, e tomem eles posse da terra que o Senhor, o Deus de vocês, está dando a eles do outro lado do Jordão. Depois vocês poderão retornar, cada um à propriedade que lhe dei.

Until the Lord has given rest to your brethren as to you, and until they also possess the land which the Lord your God has given them beyond the Jordan. Then shall you return every man to the possession which I have given you.

21 “ Naquela ocasião também ordenei a Josué: Você viu com os seus próprios olhos tudo o que o Senhor, o Deus de vocês, fez com estes dois reis. Assim o Senhor fará com todos os reinos pelos quais vocês terão que passar.

And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Your own eyes have seen all that the Lord your God has done to these two kings; so shall the Lord do to all the kingdoms into which you are going over.

22 N ão tenham medo deles. O Senhor, o seu Deus, é quem lutará por vocês. Moisés É Impedido de Entrar em Canaã

You shall not fear them, for the Lord your God shall fight for you.

23 “ Naquela ocasião implorei ao Senhor:

And I besought the Lord at that time, saying,

24 Ó Soberano Senhor, tu começaste a mostrar ao teu servo a tua grandeza e a tua mão poderosa! Que Deus existe no céu ou na terra que possa realizar as tuas obras e os teus feitos poderosos?

O Lord God, You have only begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your mighty hand; for what god is there in heaven or on earth that can do according to Your works and according to Your might?

25 D eixa-me atravessar, eu te suplico, e ver a boa terra do outro lado do Jordão, a bela região montanhosa e o Líbano!

I pray You, let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodly mountain country and Lebanon?

26 “ Todavia, por causa de vocês, o Senhor irou-se contra mim e não quis me atender. ‘Basta!’, ele disse. ‘Não me fale mais sobre isso.

But the Lord was angry with me on your account and would not listen to me; and the Lord said to me, That is enough! Say no more to Me about it.

27 S uba ao ponto mais alto do Pisga e olhe para o norte, para o sul, para o leste, e para o oeste. Veja a terra com os seus próprios olhos, pois você não atravessará o Jordão.

Get up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward, and behold it with your eyes, for you shall not go over this Jordan.

28 P ortanto, dê ordens a Josué, fortaleça-o e encoraje-o; porque será ele que atravessará à frente deste povo, e lhes repartirá por herança a terra que você apenas verá.’

But charge Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he shall go over before this people and he shall cause them to possess the land which you shall see.

29 “ Então ficamos acampados no vale, diante de Bete-Peor.

So we remained in the valley opposite Beth-peor.
