2 e , assim, enviamos Timóteo, nosso irmão e cooperador de Deus no evangelho de Cristo, para fortalecê-los e dar-lhes ânimo na fé,

And we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in the good news (the Gospel) of Christ, to strengthen and establish and to exhort and comfort and encourage you in your faith,

3 p ara que ninguém seja abalado por essas tribulações. Vocês sabem muito bem que fomos designados para isso.

That no one should be disturbed and beguiled and led astray by these afflictions and difficulties. For you yourselves know that this is our appointed lot.

4 Q uando estávamos com vocês, já lhes dizíamos que seríamos perseguidos, o que realmente aconteceu, como vocês sabem.

For even when we were with you, we warned you plainly beforehand that we were to be pressed with difficulties and made to suffer affliction, just as to your own knowledge it has happened.

5 P or essa razão, não suportando mais, enviei Timóteo para saber a respeito da fé que vocês têm, a fim de que o tentador não os seduzisse, tornando inútil o nosso esforço. As Boas Notícias Trazidas por Timóteo

That is the reason that, when I could bear no longer, I sent that I might learn your faith, lest somehow the tempter had tempted you and our toil be fruitless and to no purpose.

6 A gora, porém, Timóteo acaba de chegar da parte de vocês, dando-nos boas notícias a respeito da fé e do amor que vocês têm. Ele nos falou que vocês sempre guardam boas recordações de nós, desejando ver-nos, assim como nós queremos vê-los.

But now that Timothy has just come back to us from you and has brought us the good news of your faith and love, and how kindly you cherish a constant and affectionate remembrance of us longing to see us as we you,

7 P or isso, irmãos, em toda a nossa necessidade e tribulação ficamos animados quando soubemos da sua fé;

Brethren, for this reason, in our stress and crushing difficulties we have been filled with comfort and cheer about you your faith ( the leaning of your whole personality on God in complete trust and confidence).

8 p ois agora vivemos, visto que vocês estão firmes no Senhor.

Because now we live, if you stand in the Lord.

9 C omo podemos ser suficientemente gratos a Deus por vocês, por toda a alegria que temos diante dele por causa de vocês?

For what thanksgiving can we render to God for you for all the gladness and delight which we enjoy for your sakes before our God?

10 N oite e dia insistimos em orar para que possamos vê-los pessoalmente e suprir o que falta à sua fé.

continue to pray especially and with most intense earnestness night and day that we may see you face to face and mend and make good whatever may be imperfect and lacking in your faith.

11 Q ue o próprio Deus, nosso Pai, e nosso Senhor Jesus preparem o nosso caminho até vocês.

Now may our God and Father Himself and our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) guide our steps to you.

12 Q ue o Senhor faça crescer e transbordar o amor que vocês têm uns para com os outros e para com todos, a exemplo do nosso amor por vocês.

And may the Lord make you to increase and excel and overflow in love for one another and for all people, just as we also do for you,

13 Q ue ele fortaleça o coração de vocês para serem irrepreensíveis em santidade diante de nosso Deus e Pai, na vinda de nosso Senhor Jesus com todos os seus santos.

So that He may strengthen and confirm and establish your hearts faultlessly pure and unblamable in holiness in the sight of our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) with all His saints (the holy and glorified people of God)! Amen, (so be it)!
