die ihr stehet im Hause des HERRN, in den Höfen des Hauses unsers Gottes!

3 P raise the Lord, for the Lord is good; Sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant.

Lobet den HERRN, denn der HERR ist freundlich; lobsinget seinem Namen, denn er ist lieblich!

4 F or the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His special treasure.

Denn der HERR hat sich Jakob erwählt, Israel zu seinem Eigentum.

5 F or I know that the Lord is great, And our Lord is above all gods.

Denn ich weiß, daß der HERR groß ist und unser HERR vor allen Göttern.

6 W hatever the Lord pleases He does, In heaven and in earth, In the seas and in all deep places.

Alles, was er will, das tut er, im Himmel und auf Erden, im Meer und in allen Tiefen;

7 H e causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries.

der die Wolken läßt aufsteigen vom Ende der Erde, der die Blitze samt dem Regen macht, der den Wind aus seinen Vorratskammern kommen läßt;

8 H e destroyed the firstborn of Egypt, Both of man and beast.

der die Erstgeburten schlug in Ägypten, beider, der Menschen und des Viehes,

9 H e sent signs and wonders into the midst of you, O Egypt, Upon Pharaoh and all his servants.

und ließ Zeichen und Wunder kommen über dich, Ägyptenland, über Pharao und alle seine Knechte;

10 H e defeated many nations And slew mighty kings—

der viele Völker schlug und tötete mächtige Könige:

11 S ihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, And all the kingdoms of Canaan—

Sihon, der Amoriter König, und Og, den König von Basan, und alle Königreiche in Kanaan;

12 A nd gave their land as a heritage, A heritage to Israel His people.

und gab ihr Land zum Erbe, zum Erbe seinem Volk Israel.

13 Y our name, O Lord, endures forever, Your fame, O Lord, throughout all generations.

HERR, dein Name währet ewiglich; dein Gedächtnis, HERR, währet für und für.

14 F or the Lord will judge His people, And He will have compassion on His servants.

Denn der HERR wird sein Volk richten und seinen Knechten gnädig sein.

15 T he idols of the nations are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands.

Der Heiden Götzen sind Silber und Gold, von Menschenhänden gemacht.

16 T hey have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see;

Sie haben Mäuler, und reden nicht; sie haben Augen, und sehen nicht;

17 T hey have ears, but they do not hear; Nor is there any breath in their mouths.

sie haben Ohren, und hören nicht; auch ist kein Odem in ihrem Munde.

18 T hose who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them.

Die solche machen, sind gleich also, alle, die auf solche hoffen.

19 B less the Lord, O house of Israel! Bless the Lord, O house of Aaron!

Das Haus Israel lobe den HERRN! Lobet den HERRN, ihr vom Hause Aaron!

20 B less the Lord, O house of Levi! You who fear the Lord, bless the Lord!

Ihr vom Hause Levi, lobet den HERRN! Die ihr den HERRN fürchtet, lobet den HERRN!

21 B lessed be the Lord out of Zion, Who dwells in Jerusalem! Praise the Lord!

Gelobet sei der HERR aus Zion, der zu Jerusalem wohnt! Halleluja!
