1 “ Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Wer nicht zur Tür eingeht in den Schafstall, sondern steigt anderswo hinein, der ist ein Dieb und ein Mörder.

2 B ut he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

Der aber zur Tür hineingeht, der ist ein Hirte der Schafe.

3 T o him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

Dem tut der Türhüter auf, und die Schafe hören seine Stimme; und er ruft seine Schafe mit Namen und führt sie aus.

4 A nd when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

Und wenn er seine Schafe hat ausgelassen, geht er vor ihnen hin, und die Schafe folgen ihm nach; denn sie kennen seine Stimme.

5 Y et they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”

Einem Fremden aber folgen sie nicht nach, sondern fliehen von ihm; denn sie kennen der Fremden Stimme nicht.

6 J esus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them. Jesus the Good Shepherd

Diesen Spruch sagte Jesus zu ihnen; sie verstanden aber nicht, was es war, das er zu ihnen sagte.

7 T hen Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

Da sprach Jesus wieder zu ihnen: Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Ich bin die Tür zu den Schafen.

8 A ll who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.

Alle, die vor mir gekommen sind, die sind Diebe und Mörder; aber die Schafe haben ihnen nicht gehorcht.

9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

Ich bin die Tür; so jemand durch mich eingeht, der wird selig werden und wird ein und aus gehen und Weide finden.

10 T he thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Ein Dieb kommt nur, daß er stehle, würge und umbringe.

11 “ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

Ich bin gekommen, daß sie das Leben und volle Genüge haben sollen.

12 B ut a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.

Ich bin der gute Hirte. Der gute Hirte läßt sein Leben für seine Schafe. Der Mietling aber, der nicht Hirte ist, des die Schafe nicht eigen sind, sieht den Wolf kommen und verläßt die Schafe und flieht; und der Wolf erhascht und zerstreut die Schafe.

13 T he hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep.

Der Mietling aber flieht; denn er ist ein Mietling und achtet der Schafe nicht.

14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.

Ich bin der gute Hirte und erkenne die Meinen und bin bekannt den Meinen,

15 A s the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

wie mich mein Vater kennt und ich kenne den Vater. Und ich lasse mein Leben für die Schafe.

16 A nd other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

Und ich habe noch andere Schafe, die sind nicht aus diesem Stalle; und dieselben muß ich herführen, und sie werden meine Stimme hören, und wird eine Herde und ein Hirte werden.

17 “ Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.

Darum liebt mich mein Vater, daß ich mein Leben lasse, auf daß ich's wiedernehme.

18 N o one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

Niemand nimmt es von mir, sondern ich lasse es von mir selber. Ich habe Macht, es zu lassen, und habe Macht, es wiederzunehmen. Solch Gebot habe ich empfangen von meinem Vater.

19 T herefore there was a division again among the Jews because of these sayings.

Da ward abermals eine Zwietracht unter den Juden über diese Worte.

20 A nd many of them said, “He has a demon and is mad. Why do you listen to Him?”

Viele unter ihnen sprachen: Er hat den Teufel und ist unsinnig; was höret ihr ihm zu?

21 O thers said, “These are not the words of one who has a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?” The Shepherd Knows His Sheep

Die andern sprachen: Das sind nicht Worte eines Besessenen; kann der Teufel auch der Blinden Augen auftun?

22 N ow it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter.

Es ward aber Kirchweihe zu Jerusalem und war Winter.

23 A nd Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.

Und Jesus wandelte im Tempel in der Halle Salomos.

24 T hen the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

Da umringten ihn die Juden und sprachen zu ihm: Wie lange hältst du unsere Seele auf? Bist du Christus, so sage es uns frei heraus.

25 J esus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me.

Jesus antwortete ihnen: Ich habe es euch gesagt, und ihr glaubet nicht. Die Werke, die ich tue in meines Vaters Namen, die zeugen von mir.

26 B ut you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.

Aber ihr glaubet nicht; denn ihr seid von meinen Schafen nicht, wie ich euch gesagt habe.

27 M y sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Denn meine Schafe hören meine Stimme, und ich kenne sie; und sie folgen mir,

28 A nd I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

und ich gebe ihnen das ewige Leben; und sie werden nimmermehr umkommen, und niemand wird sie mir aus meiner Hand reißen.

29 M y Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Der Vater, der sie mir gegeben hat, ist größer denn alles; und niemand kann sie aus meines Vaters Hand reißen.

30 I and My Father are one.” Renewed Efforts to Stone Jesus

Ich und der Vater sind eins.

31 T hen the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.

Da hoben die Juden abermals Steine auf, daß sie ihn steinigten.

32 J esus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”

Jesus antwortete ihnen: Viel gute Werke habe ich euch erzeigt von meinem Vater; um welches Werk unter ihnen steinigt ihr mich?

33 T he Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”

Die Juden antworteten ihm und sprachen: Um des guten Werks willen steinigen wir dich nicht, sondern um der Gotteslästerung willen und daß du ein Mensch bist und machst dich selbst zu Gott.

34 J esus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods”’?

Jesus antwortete ihnen: Steht nicht geschrieben in eurem Gesetz: "Ich habe gesagt: Ihr seid Götter"?

35 I f He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),

So er die Götter nennt, zu welchen das Wort geschah, und die Schrift kann doch nicht gebrochen werden,

36 d o you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?

sprecht ihr denn zu dem, den der Vater geheiligt und in die Welt gesandt hat: "Du lästerst Gott", darum daß ich sage: Ich bin Gottes Sohn?

37 I f I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;

Tue ich nicht die Werke meines Vaters, so glaubet mir nicht;

38 b ut if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”

tue ich sie aber, glaubet doch den Werken, wollt ihr mir nicht glauben, auf daß ihr erkennet und glaubet, daß der Vater in mir ist und ich in ihm.

39 T herefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand. The Believers Beyond Jordan

Sie suchten abermals ihn zu greifen; aber er entging ihnen aus ihren Händen

40 A nd He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was baptizing at first, and there He stayed.

und zog hin wieder jenseit des Jordans an den Ort, da Johannes zuvor getauft hatte, und blieb allda.

41 T hen many came to Him and said, “John performed no sign, but all the things that John spoke about this Man were true.”

Und viele kamen zu ihm und sprachen: Johannes tat kein Zeichen; aber alles, was Johannes von diesem gesagt hat, das ist wahr.

42 A nd many believed in Him there.

Und glaubten allda viele an ihn.
