1 С лушай, народ мой, мое поучение! Услышь мои слова!

Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

2 О ткрою уста свои в притче, произнесу загадки из древности,

I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

3 к оторые мы слышали и узнали, которые рассказали нам наши отцы.

which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

4 М ы не будем скрывать их от детей; расскажем грядущему поколению о славе Господа, о Его силе и о чудесах, Им сотворенных.

We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

5 О н оставил свидетельство Иакову, дал Закон в Израиле, который повелел нашим отцам передавать его своим детям,

For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

6 ч тобы знало грядущее поколение, дети, которые еще не родились, и чтобы они в свое время передали его своим детям.

that the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

7 И тогда они будут возлагать свою надежду на Бога; они не станут забывать Его дел, но будут хранить Его повеления.

that they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:

8 О ни не уподобятся своим отцам, поколению упрямому и мятежному, чьи сердца не были верны Богу, чей дух не был предан Ему.

and might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.

9 С ыны Ефрема, хотя и вооруженные луками, обратились вспять в день битвы.

The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.

10 Н е хранили они завета Божьего и отказались ходить в Его Законе.

They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;

11 З абыли дела Его и чудеса, которые Он им показал.

and forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.

12 Ч удеса совершал Он на глазах их отцов в Египте, в окрестностях Цоана.

Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

13 О н разделил море и провел их через него, поставив воды стеной.

He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap.

14 Д нем вел их облаком, ночью – светом огня.

In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.

15 О н рассек скалу в пустыне и дал им пить, как будто из вод глубоких.

He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.

16 И з камня извлек Он потоки, и воды потекли, как реки.

He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

17 Н о они продолжали грешить против Него и бунтовать против Всевышнего в пустыне.

And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness.

18 И спытывали Бога в своих сердцах, требуя пищи, которая им по душе;

And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.

19 о скорбляли Бога говоря: «Может ли Бог накрыть стол в пустыне?

Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?

20 Д а, Он ударил скалу, и из неe потекли воды, хлынули потоки, но может ли Он дать хлеба, может ли дать мяса Своему народу?»

Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?

21 У слышал Господь и разгневался: Его огонь возгорелся на Иакова; вспыхнул гнев Его на Израиль,

Therefore the Lord heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;

22 п отому что они не верили в Бога и не уповали на Его спасение.

because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:

23 Н о Он повелел облакам свыше и отворил ворота небесные,

though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,

24 и , как дождь, излил на них манну и зерно небесное дал им.

and had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.

25 Х леб сильных ел человек; послал Он им пищи вдоволь.

Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.

26 О н пробудил на небе ветер восточный и силой Своей навел ветер южный.

He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.

27 К ак пылью, Он осыпал их мясом и, как песком морским, пернатыми птицами;

He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:

28 к оторых разбросал посреди лагеря, около жилищ их.

and he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.

29 О ни ели и пресытились, потому что Он дал им желаемое.

So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;

30 Н о еще не успели они насытить свою жадность, еще пища была у них на устах,

they were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths,

31 к огда Божий гнев сошел на них, поразив самых крепких из них, молодых сыновей Израиля.

the wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.

32 Н есмотря на это, они продолжали грешить и не верили Его чудесам.

For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.

33 И завершил Он дни их в суете и годы их в ужасе.

Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.

34 К огда убивал их, тогда обращались к Нему и искали Его усердно.

When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God.

35 И вспоминали, что Бог – их скала, и что Всевышний Бог – их искупитель.

And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.

36 В се равно льстили Ему устами своими, они лгали Ему своими языками,

Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.

37 п отому что сердца их не были преданны Ему, и не были они верны Его завету.

For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant.

38 Н о Он, будучи милостивым, прощал их нечестие и не уничтожал их. Много раз отвращал Он Свой гнев и не возбуждал всей Своей ярости.

But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.

39 П омнил Он, что они – только плоть, ветер, что уходит и не возвращается.

For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.

40 С колько раз они противились Ему в пустыне и сердили Его в земле необитаемой!

How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!

41 П оворачивали назад и испытывали Бога, досаждая Святому Израиля.

Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

42 Н е помнили ни руки Его, ни дня, когда Он избавил их от угнетателя,

They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.

43 к ак сотворил в Египте знамения Свои и чудеса Свои в окрестностях Цоана.

How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan:

44 О н превратил их реки в кровь и нельзя было пить из их источников.

and had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink.

45 И послал на них густые рои мух, чтобы жалили их, и лягушек, чтобы губили их.

He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.

46 О н гусеницам отдал урожай, и их труд – саранче.

He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust.

47 В иноград их побил Он градом и тутовые деревья их – наводненьем.

He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost.

48 С кот их предал граду и стада их – молниям.

He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.

49 И злил на них Свой пылающий гнев, и негодование, и ярость, и бедствие, послал на них карающих ангелов.

He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.

50 П роложил путь Своему гневу; Он не оградил души их от смерти, но предал их жизни моровой язве.

He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence;

51 П оразил всех первенцев в Египте, первые плоды сил в шатрах Хама.

and smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham:

52 К ак овец, Он вывел народ Свой, вел их, как стадо, через пустыню.

but made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

53 В ел их в безопасности, и не боялись они, а врагов их покрыло море.

And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

54 Т ак Он привел их к границам Своей святой земли, к нагорьям, которые приобрел Он правой Своей рукой.

And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased.

55 И згнал народы пред ними, а землю их разделил в наследие им и поселил в шатрах их роды Израиля.

He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

56 Н о, как прежде, они испытывали и противились Богу Всевышнему, и не хранили Его заповедей.

Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:

57 О ни отступали и изменяли так же, как их отцы; они обращались назад, как неисправный лук.

but turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.

58 О горчали Его своими святилищами на возвышенностях и ревность Его возбуждали идолами.

For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.

59 У слышал Бог и разгневался, сильно вознегодовал на Израиль.

When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:

60 О ставил Свое жилище в Шило, скинию, которую поставил средь них.

so that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men;

61 И отдал в плен Свою силу и славу Свою в руки врага.

and delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy’s hand.

62 П редал мечу народ Свой, прогневался на наследие Свое.

He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance.

63 Ю ношей их пожрал огонь, и девушкам их не пели брачных песен.

The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage.

64 И х священники падали от меча, а вдовы их не плакали.

Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.

65 Т огда проснулся Владыка, как бы от сна, как могучий воин, отрезвившийся от вина,

Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.

66 и поразил врагов Своих в сзади, и обесчестил навечно.

And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.

67 О тверг Он шатер Иосифа и не выбрал род Ефрема,

Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim:

68 н о избрал род Иуды и возлюбленную Им гору Сион.

but chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.

69 В ысокий, как небо, построил святой храм Свой и, как землю, навек утвердил его.

And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.

70 О н избрал Давида, слугу Своего, взяв его от загонов овечьих,

He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:

71 з абрав его от дойных овец, и привел его пасти Свой народ, Иакова – Израиль, Свое наследие.

from following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

72 И пас он их в чистоте сердца своего, вел их рукой мудрой.

So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.
