1 T hen the men of Kirjath Jearim came and took the ark of the Lord, and brought it into the house of Abinadab on the hill, and consecrated Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the Lord. Samuel Judges Israel

Atëherë njerëzit e Kiriath-Jearimit erdhën, e çuan lart arkën e Zotit dhe e vendosën në shtëpinë e Abinadadit në kodër, dhe shenjtëruan të birin Eleazarin që të ruante arkën e Zotit.

2 S o it was that the ark remained in Kirjath Jearim a long time; it was there twenty years. And all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord.

Shumë kohë kishte kaluar nga dita që arka ishte vendosur në Kiriath-Jearim; kishin kaluar njëzet vjet dhe tërë shtëpia e Izraelit i ankohej Zotit.

3 T hen Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If you return to the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths from among you, and prepare your hearts for the Lord, and serve Him only; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

Atëherë Samueli i foli tërë shtëpisë së Izraelit, duke thënë: "Në rast se ktheheni tek Zoti me gjithë zemër, hiqni nga gjiri juaj perënditë e huaja dhe Ashtarithin dhe mbani zemrën tuaj tek Zoti dhe i shërbeni vetëm atij, atëherë ai do t’ju çlirojë nga duart e Filistejve".

4 S o the children of Israel put away the Baals and the Ashtoreths, and served the Lord only.

Kështu bijtë e Izraelit hoqën mënjanë Baalët dhe Ashtarothët dhe i shërbyen vetëm Zotit.

5 A nd Samuel said, “Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the Lord for you.”

Pastaj Samueli tha: "Mblidhni tërë Izraelin në Mitspah dhe unë do t’i lutem Zotit për ju".

6 S o they gathered together at Mizpah, drew water, and poured it out before the Lord. And they fasted that day, and said there, “We have sinned against the Lord.” And Samuel judged the children of Israel at Mizpah.

Kështu ata u mblodhën në Mitspah, morën ujë dhe e derdhën përpara Zotit; pastaj po atë ditë agjëruan dhe atje thanë: "Kemi mëkatuar kundër Zotit". Samueli i gjykoi bijtë e Izraelit në Mitspah.

7 N ow when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel had gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard of it, they were afraid of the Philistines.

Kur Filistejtë mësuan që bijtë e Izraelit ishin mbledhur në Mitspah, princat e Filistejve u nisën kundër Izraelit. Kur bijtë e Izraelit dëgjuan këtë patën frikë nga Filistejtë.

8 S o the children of Israel said to Samuel, “Do not cease to cry out to the Lord our God for us, that He may save us from the hand of the Philistines.”

Atëherë bijtë e Izraelit i thanë Samuelit: "Mos e ndërpre klithmën tënde për neve tek Zoti, që ai të na shpëtojë nga duart e Filistejve".

9 A nd Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. Then Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel, and the Lord answered him.

Kështu Samueli mori një qengj pirës dhe e ofroi tërësisht si olokaust Zotit; Samueli i thirri Zotit për Izraelin dhe Zoti ia plotësoi kërkesën.

10 N ow as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the Lord thundered with a loud thunder upon the Philistines that day, and so confused them that they were overcome before Israel.

Ndërsa Samueli ofronte olokaustin, Filistejtë u afruan për të sulmuar Izraelin; por Zoti bubulloi me buçimë të madhe kundër Filistejve dhe i ngatërroi deri në atë pikë sa u mundën para Izraelit.

11 A nd the men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and drove them back as far as below Beth Car.

Njerëzit e Izraelit dolën nga Mitspahu, i ndoqën Filistejtë dhe i mundën deri poshtë Beth-Karit.

12 T hen Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

Atherë Samueli mori një gur e ngriti midis Mitspahut dhe Shenit dhe e quajti Eben-Ezer, duke thënë: "Deri këtu Zoti na ka ndihmuar".

13 S o the Philistines were subdued, and they did not come anymore into the territory of Israel. And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

Kështu Filistejtë u poshtëruan dhe nuk u kthyen më të shkelin territorin e Izraelit; dhe dora e Zotit u ngrit kundër Filistejve gjatë gjithë kohës së Samuelit.

14 T hen the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron to Gath; and Israel recovered its territory from the hands of the Philistines. Also there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

Edhe qytetet që Filistejtë i kishin marrë Izraelit iu kthyen Izraelit, nga Ekroni deri në Gath. Izraeli çliroi territorin e tij nga duart e Filistejve. Dhe u vendos paqja midis Izraelit dhe Amorejve.

15 A nd Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.

Samueli qe gjykatës i Izraelit gjatë gjithë jetës së tij.

16 H e went from year to year on a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah, and judged Israel in all those places.

Çdo vit ai i binte përqark Bethelit, Gilgalit dhe Mitspahut dhe ushtronte funksionin e gjyqtarit të Izraelit mbi tërë këto vende.

17 B ut he always returned to Ramah, for his home was there. There he judged Israel, and there he built an altar to the Lord.

Pastaj kthehej në Ramah, sepse aty ishte shtëpia e tij. Aty e gjykonte Izraelin dhe po aty ngriti një altar për Zotin.
