1 F inalmente, hermanos, oren por nosotros, para que la palabra del Señor se extienda rápidamente y sea glorificada, así como sucedió también con ustedes.

Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you;

2 O ren también para que seamos librados de hombres perversos y malos, porque no todos tienen fe.

and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith.

3 P ero el Señor es fiel y El los fortalecerá a ustedes y los protegerá del maligno.

But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

4 T enemos confianza en el Señor respecto de ustedes, de que hacen y continuarán haciendo lo que les ordenamos.

We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will continue to do what we command.

5 Q ue el Señor dirija sus corazones hacia el amor de Dios y hacia la perseverancia de Cristo. Exhortación a una Vida Util

May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.

6 A hora bien, hermanos, les mandamos en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que se aparten de todo hermano que ande desordenadamente, y no según la doctrina que ustedes recibieron de nosotros.

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us.

7 P ues ustedes mismos saben cómo deben seguir nuestro ejemplo (cómo imitarnos), porque no obramos de manera indisciplinada entre ustedes,

For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you,

8 n i comimos de balde el pan de nadie, sino que con dificultad y fatiga trabajamos día y noche a fin de no ser carga a ninguno de ustedes.

nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we kept working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you;

9 N o porque no tengamos derecho a ello, sino para ofrecernos como modelo a ustedes a fin de que sigan nuestro ejemplo (nos imiten).

not because we do not have the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you, so that you would follow our example.

10 P orque aun cuando estábamos con ustedes les ordenábamos esto: Si alguien no quiere trabajar, que tampoco coma.

For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.

11 P orque oímos que algunos entre ustedes andan desordenadamente, sin trabajar, pero andan metiéndose en todo.

For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.

12 A tales personas les ordenamos y exhortamos en el Señor Jesucristo, que trabajando tranquilamente, coman su propio pan.

Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread.

13 P ero ustedes, hermanos, no se cansen de hacer el bien.

But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good.

14 Y si alguien no obedece nuestra enseñanza (la palabra) en esta carta, señalen al tal y no se asocien con él, para que se avergüence.

If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame.

15 S in embargo, no lo tengan por enemigo, sino amonéstenlo como a un hermano. Despedida y Bendición Final

Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

16 Q ue el mismo Señor de paz siempre les conceda paz en todas las circunstancias. El Señor sea con todos ustedes.

Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!

17 Y o, Pablo, escribo este saludo con mi propia mano, y ésta es una señal distintiva en todas mis cartas; así escribo yo.

I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand, and this is a distinguishing mark in every letter; this is the way I write.
