God is our refuge and strength, a help in distresses, very readily found.

2 P erciò noi non temeremo, anche se la terra si dovesse spostare e se i monti fossero gettati nel mezzo del mare,

Therefore will we not fear though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the heart of the seas;

3 e le sue acque infuriassero e schiumassero, e i monti tremassero al suo gonfiarsi. (Sela)

Though the waters thereof roar foam, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 C 'è un fiume i cui rivi rallegrano la città di DIO, il luogo santo dove dimora l'Altissimo.

There is a river the streams whereof make glad the city of God, the sanctuary of the habitations of the Most High.

5 D IO è nel mezzo di lei, essa non sarà smossa, DIO la soccorrerà alle prime luci del mattino.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her at the dawn of the morning.

6 L e nazioni tumultuarono i regni vacillarono; egli mandò fuori la sua voce, la terra si sciolse.

The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 L 'Eterno degli eserciti è con noi; il DIO di Giacobbe è il nostro rifugio. (Sela)

Jehovah of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our high fortress. Selah.

8 V enite e ammirate le opere dell'Eterno, che ha operato meraviglie sulla terra.

Come, behold the works of Jehovah, what desolations he hath made in the earth:

9 E gli fa cessare le guerre fino all'estremità della terra; egli rompe gli archi e spezza le lance, e brucia i carri col fuoco.

He hath made wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariots in the fire.

10 F ermatevi e riconoscete che io sono DIO; io sarò esaltato fra le nazioni, sarò esaltato sulla terra.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
