1 ¶ Alabad al SEÑOR, porque es bueno; porque para siempre es su misericordia.

Give ye thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; for his loving-kindness for ever.

2 D íganlo los redimidos del SEÑOR, los que ha redimido del poder del enemigo,

Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the oppressor,

3 y los ha congregado de las tierras, del oriente y del occidente, del aquilón y del mar.

And gathered out of the countries, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.

4 A nduvieron perdidos por el desierto, por la soledad sin camino, sin hallar ciudad en dónde vivir.

They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way, they found no city of habitation;

5 H ambrientos y sedientos, su alma desfallecía en ellos.

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them:

6 Y clamaron al SEÑOR en su angustia, los libró de sus aflicciones.

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, he delivered them out of their distresses,

7 L os dirigió por camino derecho, para que vinieran a ciudad de habitación.

And he led them forth by a right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

8 A laben al SEÑOR por su misericordia; y sus maravillas para con los hijos de Adán.

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

9 P orque sació al alma menesterosa, y llenó de bien al alma hambrienta.

For he hath satisfied the longing soul and filled the hungry soul with good.

10 ¶ Los que moraban en tinieblas y sombra de muerte aprisionados, en aflicción y en hierros,

Such as inhabit darkness and the shadow of death, bound in affliction and iron,

11 p or cuanto fueron rebeldes a las palabras del SEÑOR, y aborrecieron el consejo del Altísimo.

Because they had rebelled against the words of God, and had despised the counsel of the Most High; …

12 P or eso quebrantó él con trabajo sus corazones, cayeron y no hubo quién los ayudara.

And he bowed down their heart with labour; they stumbled, and there was none to help:

13 L uego que clamaron al SEÑOR en su angustia, los libró de sus aflicciones.

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, he saved them out of their distresses;

14 L os sacó de las tinieblas, y de la sombra de muerte; y rompió sus prisiones.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.

15 A laben al SEÑOR por su misericordia, y sus maravillas para con los hijos de Adán.

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

16 P orque quebrantó las puertas de bronce, y desmenuzó los cerrojos de hierro.

For he hath broken the gates of bronze, and cut asunder the bars of iron.

17 ¶ Los locos, a causa del camino de su rebelión; y a causa de sus iniquidades fueron afligidos,

Fools, because of their way of transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted;

18 s u alma abominó toda vianda; y llegaron hasta las puertas de la muerte.

Their soul abhorreth all manner of food, and they draw near unto the gates of death:

19 M as clamaron al SEÑOR en su angustia; y los salvó de sus aflicciones.

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, he saveth them out of their distresses;

20 E nvió su palabra, y los curó, y los libró de sus sepulturas.

He sendeth his word, and healeth them, and delivereth them from their destructions.

21 A laben al SEÑOR por su misericordia, y sus maravillas para con los hijos de Adán.

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men,

22 Y ofrezcan sacrificios de alabanza, y publiquen sus obras con júbilo.

And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works in joyful song.

23 ¶ Los que descienden al mar en navíos, y hacen obra en las muchas aguas,

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters,

24 e llos han visto las obras del SEÑOR, y sus maravillas en el mar profundo.

These see the works of Jehovah, and his wonders in the deep.

25 E l dijo, e hizo saltar el viento de la tempestad, que levanta sus ondas;

For he speaketh, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof:

26 s uben a los cielos, descienden a los abismos; sus almas se derriten con el mal.

They mount up to the heavens, they go down to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble;

27 T iemblan, y titubean como borrachos, y toda su ciencia es perdida;

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and they are at their wits' end:

28 c laman al SEÑOR en su angustia, y los libra de sus aflicciones.

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses;

29 H ace parar la tempestad en sosiego, y sus ondas cesan.

He maketh the storm a calm, and the waves thereof are still:

30 S e alegran luego porque se reposaron; y él los guía al término de su voluntad.

And they rejoice because they are quiet; and he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 A laben al SEÑOR por su misericordia, y sus maravillas para con los hijos de Adán.

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

32 Y ensálcenlo en la congregación del pueblo; y en la reunión de ancianos lo alaben.

Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the session of the elders.

33 ¶ El puso los ríos en desierto, y los manaderos de las aguas en sed;

He maketh rivers into a wilderness, and water-springs into dry ground;

34 l a tierra fructífera en salados; por la maldad de los que la habitan.

A fruitful land into a plain of salt, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 V uelve el desierto en estanques de aguas, y la tierra desierta en manaderos de agua.

He maketh the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs;

36 Y aposenta allí hambrientos, y aderezan allí ciudad para habitación;

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;

37 y siembran campos, y plantan viñas; y rinden fruto de aumento.

And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase;

38 Y los bendice, y se multiplican en gran manera; y no disminuye sus bestias.

And he blesseth them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 Y después son menoscabados, y abatidos de tiranía; de males y congojas.

And they are diminished and brought low, through oppression, adversity, and sorrow:

40 E l derrama menosprecio sobre los príncipes, y les hace andar errados, vagabundos, sin camino.

He poureth contempt upon nobles, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste;

41 Y levanta al pobre de la pobreza, y vuelve las familias como ovejas.

But he secureth the needy one on high from affliction, and maketh families like flocks.

42 V ean los rectos, y alégrense; y toda maldad cierre su boca.

The upright shall see it, and rejoice; and all unrighteousness shall stop its mouth.

43 ¿ Quién es sabio y guardará estas cosas, y entenderá las misericordias del SEÑOR?

Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them understand the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah.
