1 ¶ Porque el Reino de los cielos es semejante a un hombre, padre de familia, que salió por la mañana a contratar obreros para su viña.

For the kingdom of the heavens is like a householder who went out with the early morn to hire workmen for his vineyard.

2 Y habiéndose concertado con los obreros en un denario al día, los envió a su viña.

And having agreed with the workmen for a denarius the day, he sent them into his vineyard.

3 Y saliendo cerca de la hora tercera, vio otros que estaban en la plaza ociosos;

And having gone out about third hour, he saw others standing in the market-place idle;

4 Y les dijo: Id también vosotros a mi viña, y os daré lo que fuere justo. Y ellos fueron.

and to them he said, Go also ye into the vineyard, and whatsoever may be just I will give you. And they went their way.

5 S alió otra vez cerca de las horas sexta y novena, e hizo lo mismo.

Again, having gone out about the sixth and ninth hour, he did likewise.

6 Y saliendo cerca de la hora undécima, halló otros que estaban ociosos; y les dijo: ¿Por qué estáis aquí todo el día ociosos?

But about the eleventh, having gone out, he found others standing, and says to them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

7 L e dicen: Porque nadie nos ha contratado. Les dijo: Id también vosotros a la viña, y recibiréis lo que fuere justo.

They say to him, Because no man has hired us. He says to them, Go also ye into the vineyard.

8 Y cuando fue la tarde del día, el señor de la viña dijo a su mayordomo: Llama a los obreros y págales el jornal, comenzando desde los postreros hasta los primeros.

But when the evening was come, the lord of the vineyard says to his steward, Call the workmen and pay their wages, beginning from the last even to the first.

9 Y viniendo los que habían ido cerca de la hora undécima, recibieron cada uno un denario.

And when they about the eleventh hour came, they received each a denarius.

10 Y viniendo también los primeros, pensaron que habían de recibir más; pero también ellos recibieron cada uno un denario.

And when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more, and they received also themselves each a denarius.

11 Y tomándolo, murmuraban contra el padre de familia,

And on receiving it they murmured against the master of the house,

12 D iciendo: Estos postreros sólo han trabajado una hora, y los has hecho iguales a nosotros, que hemos llevado la carga y el calor del día.

saying, These last have worked one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the heat.

13 Y él respondiendo, dijo a uno de ellos: Amigo, no te hago agravio; ¿no te concertaste conmigo por un denario?

But he answering said to one of them, friend, I do not wrong thee. Didst thou not agree with me for a denarius?

14 T oma lo que es tuyo, y vete; pero quiero dar a este postrero, como a ti.

Take what is thine and go. But it is my will to give to this last even as to thee:

15 ¿ No me es lícito a mí hacer lo que quiero en mis cosas? o ¿es malo tu ojo, porque yo soy bueno?

is it not lawful for me to do what I will in my own affairs? Is thine eye evil because I am good?

16 A sí los primeros serán postreros, y los postreros primeros; porque muchos son llamados, mas pocos escogidos.

Thus shall the last be first, and the first last; for many are called ones, but few chosen ones.

17 ¶ Y subiendo Jesús a Jerusalén, tomó sus doce discípulos aparte en el camino, y les dijo:

And Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples with apart in the way, and said to them,

18 H e aquí subimos a Jerusalén, y el Hijo del hombre será entregado a los príncipes de los sacerdotes y a los escribas, y le condenarán a muerte;

Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be delivered up to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death;

19 y le entregarán a los gentiles para que le escarnezcan, y azoten, y cuelguen en un madero; mas al tercer día resucitará.

and they will deliver him up to the nations to mock and to scourge and to crucify, and the third day he shall rise again.

20 ¶ Entonces se llegó a él la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo con sus hijos, adorando, y pidiéndole algo.

Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee, with her sons, doing homage, and asking something of him.

21 Y él le dijo: ¿Qué quieres? Ella le dijo: Di que se sienten estos dos hijos míos, el uno a tu mano derecha, y el otro a tu izquierda, en tu Reino.

And he said to her, What wilt thou? She says to him, Speak that these my two sons may sit, one on thy right hand and one on thy left in thy kingdom.

22 E ntonces Jesús respondiendo, dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís; ¿podéis beber el vaso que yo he de beber, y ser bautizados del bautismo con que yo soy bautizado? Y ellos le dicen: Podemos.

And Jesus answering said, Ye know not what ye ask. Can ye drink the cup which I am about to drink? They say to him, We are able.

23 Y él les dice: A la verdad mi vaso beberéis, y del bautismo con que yo soy bautizado, seréis bautizados; mas el sentaros a mi mano derecha y a mi izquierda, no es mío darlo, sino a los que está aparejado por mi Padre.

he says to them, Ye shall drink indeed my cup, but to sit on my right hand and on left, is not mine to give, but to those for whom it is prepared of my Father.

24 C uando los diez oyeron esto, se enojaron con los dos hermanos.

And the ten, having heard, were indignant about the two brothers.

25 E ntonces Jesús llamándolos, dijo: Ya sabéis que los príncipes de los gentiles se enseñorean sobre ellos, y los que son grandes ejercen sobre ellos potestad.

But Jesus having called them to, said, Ye know that the rulers of the nations exercise lordship over them, and the great exercise authority over them.

26 M as entre vosotros no será así; sino el que quisiere entre vosotros hacerse grande, será vuestro servidor;

It shall not be thus amongst you, but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your servant;

27 Y el que quisiere entre vosotros ser el primero, será vuestro siervo;

and whosoever will be first among you, let him be your bondman;

28 c omo el Hijo del hombre no vino para ser servido, sino para servir, y para dar su vida en rescate por muchos.

as indeed the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.

29 ¶ Entonces saliendo ellos de Jericó, le seguía gran multitud.

And as they went out from Jericho a great crowd followed him.

30 Y he aquí dos ciegos sentados junto al camino, cuando oyeron que Jesús pasaba, clamaron, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros.

And lo, two blind men, sitting by the wayside, having heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out saying, Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David.

31 Y la multitud les reñía para que callaran; pero ellos clamaban más, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros.

But the crowd rebuked them, that they might be silent. But they cried out the more, saying, Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David.

32 Y parándose Jesús, los llamó, y dijo: ¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros?

And Jesus, having stopped, called them and said, What will ye that I shall do to you?

33 E llos le dicen: Señor, que sean abiertos nuestros ojos.

They say to him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

34 E ntonces Jesús, teniendo misericordia de ellos, les tocó los ojos, y luego sus ojos recibieron la vista; y le siguieron.

And Jesus, moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes had sight restored to them, and they followed him.
