1 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.

Te iubesc, Doamne, Tăria mea!

2 T he Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Domnul este stânca mea, fortăreaţa mea şi izbăvitorul meu! Dumnezeul meu este stânca mea în Care mă adăpostesc, scutul meu, cornul mântuirii mele, întăritura mea!

3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

Eu Îl chem în ajutor pe Domnul, Care este vrednic de laudă, şi sunt izbăvit de duşmanii mei.

4 T he sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

Mă înfăşuraseră legăturile morţii, mă copleşiseră şuvoaiele nimicirii.

5 T he sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

Legăturile Locuinţei Morţilor mă împresuraseră, mă prinseseră laţurile morţii.

6 I n my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

Dar în necazul meu L-am chemat pe Domnul, am strigat către Dumnezeul meu. El a ascultat glasul meu din Templul Său cel Sfânt şi strigătul meu a ajuns înaintea Lui, până la urechile Sale.

7 T hen the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

Atunci s-a zguduit şi s-a cutremurat pământul, temeliile munţilor s-au zdruncinat, s-au clătinat, pentru că El se mâniase.

8 T here went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

Ţâşnea fum din nările Lui şi foc mistuitor din gura Lui, cărbuni aprinşi ieşeau din ea.

9 H e bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

A aplecat cerurile şi a coborât; nori negri erau sub picioarele Lui.

10 A nd he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

Călărea pe un heruvim, zbura, plutea pe aripile vântului.

11 H e made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

Întunericul Şi-l aşternuse drept învelitoare, iar împrejurul Lui, drept acoperământ, erau ape întunecoase şi nori deşi.

12 A t the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

Din strălucirea care se oglindea înaintea Sa, prin norii Lui, ieşea grindină şi cărbuni aprinşi.

13 T he Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

Domnul a tunat din ceruri, Cel Preaînalt Şi-a făcut auzit glasul, răspândind grindină şi cărbuni aprinşi.

14 Y ea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

Şi-a aruncat săgeţile, risipindu-i pe duşmani; a trimis fulgerele şi i-a pus pe fugă.

15 T hen the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

La mustrarea Ta, Doamne, la suflarea nărilor Tale, s-au văzut albiile apelor şi s-au descoperit temeliile lumii.

16 H e sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

El S-a întins din înălţime şi m-a apucat, m-a scos din apele cele mari,

17 H e delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

m-a izbăvit de duşmanul meu cel puternic şi de vrăjmaşii mei, căci erau mai tari decât mine.

18 T hey prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.

Ei m-au înfruntat în ziua necazului meu, dar Domnul mi-a fost sprijin.

19 H e brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

El m-a scos la loc larg, m-a izbăvit, pentru că El Îşi găseşte plăcerea în mine.

20 T he Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

Domnul mi-a răsplătit după dreptatea mea, mi-a făcut după curăţia mâinilor mele,

21 F or I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

căci am păzit căile Domnului şi nu m-am făcut vinovat faţă de Dumnezeul meu.

22 F or all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

Toate judecăţile Lui sunt înaintea mea şi nu am îndepărtat hotărârile Lui de la mine.

23 I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.

Am fost integru înaintea Lui şi m-am păzit de nelegiuire.

24 T herefore hath the Lord recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

Domnul mi-a răsplătit după dreptatea mea, după curăţia mâinilor mele înaintea ochilor Săi.

25 W ith the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;

Cu cel credincios Tu Te arăţi credincios, cu cel drept Tu Te arăţi drept,

26 w ith the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

cu cel integru Tu Te arăţi integru, dar cu cel înşelător Tu Te porţi după înşelăciunea lui.

27 F or thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

Tu mântuieşti poporul smerit, dar smereşti pe cel cu ochii trufaşi.

28 F or thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

Tu îmi aprinzi candela, Doamne! Dumnezeul meu îmi luminează întunericul!

29 F or by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

Cu Tine mă năpustesc asupra năvălitorilor! Cu Dumnezeul meu sar peste zidul întărit!

30 A s for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

Cât despre Dumnezeu, calea Lui este desăvârşită, cuvintele Domnului sunt încercate; El este un scut pentru toţi cei ce se se adăpostesc în El.

31 F or who is God save the Lord ? or who is a rock save our God?

Cine este Dumnezeu în afară de Domnul ? Cine este Stâncă în afară de Dumnezeul nostru?

32 I t is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

Dumnezeu este Cel Ce m-a încins cu tărie şi mi-a făcut desăvârşită calea.

33 H e maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

El mi-a făcut picioarele ca ale ciutelor şi m-a aşezat pe înălţimi.

34 H e teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

Îmi deprinde mâinile pentru luptă, astfel încât braţele mele întind arcul de aramă.

35 T hou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

Tu îmi dai scutul mântuirii Tale, dreapta Ta mă sprijină, ajutorul Tău mă face mare.

36 T hou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

Tu-mi lărgeşti calea sub paşii mei, ca să nu-mi alunece picioarele.

37 I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.

Îmi urmăresc duşmanii şi-i ajung; nu mă întorc până nu-i prăpădesc.

38 I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

Îi zdrobesc, de nu mai sunt în stare să se ridice; ei cad sub picioarele mele.

39 F or thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

Tu mă încingi cu tărie pentru luptă şi-i smereşti pe vrăjmaşii mei sub picioarele mele.

40 T hou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

Tu faci ca duşmanii mei să fugă dinaintea mea şi eu îi nimicesc pe cei ce mă urăsc.

41 T hey cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

Ei strigă după ajutor, dar nimeni nu-i izbăveşte; strigă către Domnul, dar El nu le răspunde.

42 T hen did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

Îi pisez făcându-i ca praful în bătaia vântului; îi calc ca pe noroiul de pe uliţe.

43 T hou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

Tu mă scapi de învinuirile poporului, mă pui drept căpetenie a neamurilor; un popor pe care nu-l cunosc îmi slujeşte.

44 A s soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

Fiii străinului dau înapoi în faţa mea; de îndată ce mă aud, mă ascultă.

45 T he strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

Fiii străinului îngălbenesc şi ies tremurând din fortăreţele lor.

46 T he Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Domnul este viu! Binecuvântată să fie Stânca mea! Mărit să fie Dumnezeul mântuirii mele!

47 I t is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.

Dumnezeu este Cel Ce mă răzbună, Cel Care îmi supune popoare,

48 H e delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

Cel Ce mă izbăveşte de vrăjmaşii mei. Tu mă ridici deasupra duşmanilor mei şi mă scapi de omul asupritor.

49 T herefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.

De aceea Te voi lăuda printre neamuri, Doamne, şi voi cânta laudă Numelui Tău!

50 G reat deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

El dă mari izbăviri regelui Său şi arată îndurare unsului Său, lui David şi seminţei lui în veac.
