1 T he word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,

Cuvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

2 S on of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord God; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:

„Fiul omului, spune-i prinţului Tirului că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Ţi s-a îngâmfat inima şi ai zis: ‘Sunt zeu! Stau pe tronul zeilor în inima mărilor!’ Deşi crezi că eşti asemenea zeilor, tu eşti de fapt doar un om, nu eşti un zeu.

3 b ehold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:

Iată, te crezi mai înţelept decât Daniel şi crezi că nici o taină nu-ţi este ascunsă!

4 w ith thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:

Prin înţelepciunea şi priceperea ta ţi-ai făcut avere şi ai adunat aur şi argint în vistieriile tale.

5 b y thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:

Prin multa ta înţelepciune în ce priveşte negoţul ţi-ai înmulţit averea, dar din cauza averii tale ţi s-a îngâmfat inima.»

6 t herefore thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;

De aceea, aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Pentru că îţi asemeni gândirea cu gândirea lui Dumnezeu,

7 b ehold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.

iată, aduc împotriva ta nişte străini, pe cele mai barbare dintre neamuri. Ele îşi vor scoate sabia împotriva minunatei tale înţelepciuni şi îţi vor pângări strălucirea.

8 T hey shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas.

Te vor coborî în groapă şi vei muri de o moarte violentă în inima mărilor.

9 W ilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.

Vei mai zice tu atunci: ‘Sunt Dumnezeu!’, în faţa ucigaşului tău? Vei fi un biet om, nu Dumnezeu în mâna celor ce te vor străpunge!

10 T hou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.

Vei muri de moartea celor necircumcişi, ucis de mâna străinilor, căci Eu, Domnul, am vorbit, zice Stăpânul Domn. »“

11 M oreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Cuvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

12 S on of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

„Fiul omului, rosteşte o cântare de jale despre regele Tirului! Spune-i că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Erai un semn al perfecţiunii, plin de înţelepciune şi desăvârşit în frumuseţe.

13 T hou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Stăteai în Eden, grădina lui Dumnezeu, şi erai acoperit cu tot felul de pietre preţioase: cu sard, topaz, diamant, crisolit, onix, jasp, safir, turcoaz şi smarald. Bijuteriile şi filigranele tale erau din aur, pregătite încă din ziua în care ai fost creat.

14 T hou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Erai un heruvim ocrotitor, cu aripile întinse; te-am pus să fii pe muntele cel sfânt al lui Dumnezeu şi umblai prin mijlocul pietrelor de foc.

15 T hou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Ai fost fără vină în căile tale din ziua în care ai fost creat şi până când s-a găsit nedreptate în tine.

16 B y the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Prin mărimea negoţului tău te-ai umplut de violenţă şi ai păcătuit. De aceea te-am aruncat de pe muntele lui Dumnezeu şi te-am îndepărtat, heruvim ocrotitor, din mijlocul pietrelor de foc.

17 T hine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

Ţi s-a îngâmfat inima din pricina frumuseţii tale şi ţi-ai pervertit înţelepciunea din cauza splendorii tale! De aceea te-am aruncat la pământ şi te-am expus înaintea regilor, ca să fi o privelişte pentru ei!

18 T hou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

Prin mulţimea nelegiuirilor tale şi a negoţului tău necinstit ţi-ai pângărit sanctuarele. De aceea am făcut să iasă un foc din mijlocul tău, care te-a mistuit, şi te-am făcut scrum pe pământ, înaintea tuturor celor ce te priveau.

19 A ll they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

Toţi cei ce te cunosc dintre popoare sunt înmărmuriţi din pricina ta. Ai parte de un sfârşit îngrozitor şi nu vei mai exista niciodată!»“ Profeţie împotriva Sidonului

20 A gain the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Cuvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

21 S on of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against it,

„Fiul omului, îndreaptă-ţi faţa spre Sidon şi profeţeşte împotriva lui.

22 a nd say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.

Spune-i că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Iată, sunt împotriva ta, Sidoane, şi de aceea Mă voi slăvi în mijlocul tău! Şi vor şti că Eu sunt Domnul, când Îmi voi împlini judecăţile împotriva lui şi Îmi voi arăta sfinţenia în el.»

23 F or I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Voi trimite molima în el şi vărsarea de sânge pe străzile lui. Cel înjunghiat va cădea în mijlocul lui, răpus de sabia care loveşte de jur împrejur. Şi vor şti astfel că Eu sunt Domnul.

24 A nd there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord God.

Atunci, pentru cei din Casa lui Israel, nu va mai fi nici un spin care înţeapă şi nici un ghimpe care provoacă durere din partea tuturor vecinilor lor care-i dispreţuiesc. Şi vor şti astfel că Eu sunt Stăpânul Domn.

25 T hus saith the Lord God; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.

Aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Când îi voi aduna pe cei din Casa lui Israel dintre popoarele unde au fost împrăştiaţi, Îmi voi arăta sfinţenia prin ei înaintea neamurilor şi ei vor locui în propria lor ţară, pe care am dat-o robului Meu, Iacov.

26 A nd they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the Lord their God.

Vor locui în siguranţă în ea, vor construi case şi vor sădi vii. Da, vor locui în siguranţă când Îmi voi împlini judecăţile împotriva tuturor vecinilor lor care-i dispreţuiesc. Şi vor şti astfel că Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul lor.»“
