1 T he word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

Aceasta este ceea ce a văzut Isaia, fiul lui Amoţ, cu privire la Iuda şi la Ierusalim: Muntele Casei Domnului

2 A nd it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

„În zilele de pe urmă, muntele Casei Domnului va fi aşezat drept cel mai înalt dintre munţi, va fi înălţat deasupra dealurilor şi toate neamurile vor curge spre el.

3 A nd many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Multe popoare vor veni şi vor zice: «Să mergem şi să ne suim la muntele Domnului, la Casa Dumnezeului lui Iacov! El să ne înveţe căile Sale, şi noi să umblăm pe cărările Sale!» Căci din Sion va ieşi Legea, iar Cuvântul Domnului – din Ierusalim.

4 A nd he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

El va judeca între neamuri şi va hotărî pentru multe popoare. Ele îşi vor făuri din săbii pluguri, şi din suliţe – cosoare. Nici un neam nu va mai ridica sabia împotriva altui neam şi nu vor mai învăţa războiul.

5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

Veniţi, voi cei din Casa lui Iacov, veniţi să umblăm în lumina Domnului! Ziua Domnului

6 T herefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.

Ţi-ai părăsit poporul, pe cei din Casa lui Iacov! Ei sunt plini de obiceiurile Răsăritului; ei practică divinaţia ca filistenii şi dau mâna cu păgânii.

7 T heir land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:

Ţara le este plină de argint şi aur, bogăţiile lor nu se mai termină. Ţara le este plină de cai, şi carele lor sunt fără număr.

8 t heir land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:

Ţara le este plină de idoli; ei se pleacă înaintea lucrului făcut de mâinile lor, înaintea a ceea ce a făcut degetele lor.

9 a nd the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.

Omul va fi umilit, fiecare se va smeri – nu-i ierta!

10 E nter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty.

Intră în stâncă şi ascunde-te în ţărână de groaza Domnului şi din pricina strălucirii măreţiei Sale!

11 T he lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Ochiul celui arogant va fi smerit şi mândria oamenilor va fi răsturnată. Doar Domnul va fi înălţat în ziua aceea!

12 F or the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Domnul Oştirilor are o zi pregătită împotriva a tot ce este mândru şi semeţ, împotriva a tot ce este înălţat – toţi aceştia vor fi umiliţi;

13 a nd upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,

împotriva tuturor cedrilor Libanului, semeţi şi înălţaţi, şi împotriva tuturor stejarilor din Başan;

14 a nd upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,

împotriva tuturor munţilor înalţi şi împotriva tuturor dealurilor semeţe;

15 a nd upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,

împotriva oricărui turn înalt şi împotriva oricărui zid întărit;

16 a nd upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.

împotriva tuturor corăbiilor de Tarşiş şi împotriva tuturor corăbiilor încărcate cu lucruri frumoase.

17 A nd the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Aroganţa oamenilor va fi smerită şi mândria fiecăruia va fi răsturnată. Doar Domnul va fi înălţat în ziua aceea;

18 A nd the idols he shall utterly abolish.

idolii vor fi nimiciţi în întregime!

19 A nd they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

Oamenii vor intra în peşterile din stânci şi în gropile pământului de groaza Domnului şi din pricina strălucirii măreţiei Sale, atunci când El Se va ridica să clatine pământul!

20 I n that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;

În ziua aceea oamenii îşi vor arunca, la cârtiţe şi la lilieci, idolii de argint şi de aur, pe care şi-i făcuseră ca să li se închine,

21 t o go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

şi vor intra în peşterile din stânci şi în crăpăturile piscurilor de groaza Domnului şi din pricina strălucirii măreţiei Sale, atunci când El se va ridica să clatine pământul!

22 C ease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?

Nu vă mai încredeţi în om! El are doar suflare în nări. Căci de ce să fie luat el în seamă!?
