1 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Domnul i-a zis din nou lui Moise:

2 A gain, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

„Să le mai spui israeliţilor: «Dacă vreunul dintre israeliţi sau dintre străinii care locuiesc în Israel îşi vor da copiii lui Moleh, omul acela să fie pedepsit cu moartea; poporul din ţară să-l ucidă cu pietre.

3 A nd I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.

Eu Îmi voi întoarce faţa împotriva acelui om şi-l voi nimici din poporul său, pentru că şi-a dat fiii lui Moleh, Mi-a spurcat Lăcaşul şi a profanat Numele Meu cel sfânt.

4 A nd if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:

Dacă poporul din ţară îl va ierta atunci când îşi va da copiii lui Moleh şi nu-l va omorî,

5 t hen I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.

Eu Însumi Îmi voi întoarce faţa împotriva acelui om şi împotriva clanului lui şi-l voi nimici din poporul lui, împreună cu toţi cei ce îl urmează prostituându-se înaintea lui Moleh.

6 A nd the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

Dacă se va duce cineva la cei ce cheamă duhurile morţilor sau la descântători, ca să se prostitueze luându-se după ei, Îmi voi întoarce faţa împotriva lui şi îl voi nimici din poporul său.

7 S anctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God.

De aceea sfinţiţi-vă şi fiţi sfinţi, căci Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.

8 A nd ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the Lord which sanctify you.

Să păziţi poruncile Mele şi să le împliniţi; Eu sunt Domnul Care vă sfinţesc.

9 F or every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

Cine îşi va blestema tatăl sau mama să fie pedepsit cu moartea; şi-a blestemat tatăl sau mama, prin urmare, trebuie să se facă ispăşire cu propriul lui sânge.

10 A nd the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

Dacă un bărbat a comis adulter cu soţia semenului său, cei doi adulteri să fie omorâţi.

11 A nd the man that lieth with his father’s wife hath uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Dacă un om se va culca cu soţia tatălui său, descoperind astfel goliciunea tatălui său, cei doi să fie omorâţi; să se facă ispăşire cu propriul lor sânge.

12 A nd if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.

Dacă un om se va culca cu nora sa, amândoi să fie omorâţi; ei au săvârşit o perversitate, prin urmare, sângele lor să cadă asupra lor.

13 I f a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Dacă un bărbat se va culca cu un alt bărbat la fel cum se culcă cu o femeie, amândoi au săvârşit o urâciune; să fie nimiciţi şi să se facă ispăşire cu propriul lor sânge.

14 A nd if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.

Dacă un bărbat va lua de soţie atât pe fată, cât şi pe mama ei, lucrul acesta este o nelegiuire. Să fie arşi în foc atât el, cât şi ele, pentru ca nelegiuirea să nu-şi mai găsească loc printre voi.

15 A nd if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.

Dacă un bărbat se va împreuna cu un animal, atunci atât bărbatul, cât şi animalul să fie nimiciţi.

16 A nd if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Dacă o femeie se va apropia de un animal ca să se împerecheze cu el, să nimiciţi atât femeia, cât şi animalul. Să fie nimiciţi şi astfel sângele lor să cadă asupra lor.

17 A nd if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.

Dacă un om o va lua pe sora sa, fiica tatălui său sau fiica mamei sale, şi-i va vedea goliciunea, iar ea îi va vedea goliciunea lui, fapta aceasta este o urâciune; să fie nimiciţi amândoi sub privirea poporului lor. El a descoperit goliciunea surorii lui şi, prin urmare, trebuie să-şi poarte pedeapsa.

18 A nd if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

Dacă un bărbat se culcă cu o femeie care este în perioada necurăţiei ei, descoperindu-i astfel goliciunea, dacă el îi descoperă scurgerea şi ea îşi descoperă scurgerea de sânge, amândoi să fie nimiciţi din poporul lor.

19 A nd thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister, nor of thy father’s sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.

Să nu descoperiţi goliciunea surorii mamei voastre, nici a surorii tatălui vostru, pentru că aceasta ar însemna să descoperiţi goliciunea unei rude apropiate. Cei vinovaţi de acest păcat îşi vor purta pedeapsa.

20 A nd if a man shall lie with his uncle’s wife, he hath uncovered his uncle’s nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.

Dacă un bărbat se va culca cu mătuşa sa, aceasta înseamnă că el a descoperit goliciunea unchiului său; amândoi să fie pedepsiţi; ei vor muri fără să aibă copii.

21 A nd if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.

Dacă un bărbat va lua pe soţia fratelui său, lucrul acesta este o necurăţie, căci el a descoperit goliciunea fratelui său; nu vor avea copii.

22 Y e shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.

Să ascultaţi de toate poruncile Mele şi să le împliniţi, pentru ca ţara în care vă voi aşeza să nu vă verse din gura ei.

23 A nd ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

Să nu vă luaţi după obiceiurile neamurilor pe care le voi izgoni dinaintea voastră, căci ele au făcut toate aceste lucruri şi Mi-e scârbă de ele.

24 B ut I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the Lord your God, which have separated you from other people.

Vouă însă v-am promis că veţi moşteni ţara; Eu Însumi vă voi da în stăpânire o ţară în care curge lapte şi miere. Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, Care v-a ales dintre popoare.

25 Y e shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

De aceea să faceţi deosebire între un animal curat şi unul necurat, între o pasăre necurată şi una curată, ca să nu vă pângăriţi prin animalele, păsările sau prin orice fel de creatură care mişună pe pământ, despre care v-am spus să le consideraţi necurate.

26 A nd ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

Voi să-Mi fiţi sfinţi, pentru că Eu, Domnul, sunt sfânt; Eu v-am ales dintre popoare ca să fiţi ai Mei.

27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

Dacă este printre voi vreun bărbat sau vreo femeie care cheamă duhurile morţilor sau se ocupă cu descântecele, să fie pedepsiţi cu moartea; să fie omorâţi cu pietre şi să se facă astfel ispăşire cu propriul lor sânge.»“
