1 T hen Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

Solomon a început să zidească Casa Domnului la Ierusalim, pe muntele Moria, care fusese arătat tatălui său, David, chiar pe locul pregătit de David, în aria iebusitului Ornan.

2 A nd he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

El a început să zidească în cea de-a doua zi a lunii a doua, în al patrulea an al domniei sale.

3 N ow these are the things wherein Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

Temelia pe care a zidit-o Solomon Casei lui Dumnezeu avea şaizeci de coţi lungime şi douăzeci de coţi lăţime, după măsura veche a cotului.

4 A nd the porch that was in the front of the house, the length of it was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height was an hundred and twenty: and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

Porticul din faţa odăii principale a Casei se întindea pe toată lăţimea Casei, adică pe douăzeci de coţi, şi avea o înălţime de o sută douăzeci de coţi. El l-a placat în interior cu aur curat.

5 A nd the greater house he cieled with fir tree, which he overlaid with fine gold, and set thereon palm trees and chains.

A acoperit odaia principală cu lemn de chiparos, a poleit-o cu aur fin şi a gravat pe ea palmieri şi reţele de lanţuri.

6 A nd he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.

De asemenea, a împodobit odaia cu pietre preţioase. Aurul folosit era aur de Parvayim.

7 H e overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls.

A poleit cu aur grinzile şi pragurile Casei, precum şi zidurile şi porţile lui şi a încrustat heruvimi pe ziduri.

8 A nd he made the most holy house, the length whereof was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.

A făcut şi Locul Preasfânt. Lungimea lui era de douăzeci de coţi, cât lăţimea Casei, iar lăţimea lui era tot de douăzeci de coţi. El l-a placat cu şase sute de talanţi de aur fin.

9 A nd the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.

Greutatea aurului folosit la confecţionarea cuielor a fost de cincizeci de şecheli. A placat cu aur şi odăile de sus.

10 A nd in the most holy house he made two cherubims of image work, and overlaid them with gold.

În Locul Preasfânt a făcut doi heruvimi sculptaţi şi i-a poleit cu aur.

11 A nd the wings of the cherubims were twenty cubits long: one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.

Aripile heruvimilor aveau lungimea de douăzeci de coţi. O aripă a unuia dintre heruvimi, de cinci coţi lungime, atingea zidul Casei, iar cealaltă aripă, tot de cinci coţi lungime, atingea aripa celuilalt heruvim.

12 A nd one wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing was five cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub.

Tot aşa, o aripă a celuilalt heruvim, de cinci coţi lungime, atingea zidul Casei, iar cealaltă aripă a sa, tot de cinci coţi lungime, se unea cu aripa celui dintâi heruvim.

13 T he wings of these cherubims spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were inward.

Aşadar, aripile întinse ale acestor heruvimi aveau douăzeci de coţi. Ei stăteau în picioare, cu faţa spre odaia principală.

14 A nd he made the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon.

A făcut şi draperia din fire de culoare albastră, purpurie şi stacojie şi din in subţire şi a brodat-o cu heruvimi.

15 A lso he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the chapiter that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

În faţa Casei a făcut doi stâlpi a căror înălţime era de treizeci şi cinci de coţi, fiecare având în vârf un capitel de cinci coţi.

16 A nd he made chains, as in the oracle, and put them on the heads of the pillars; and made an hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.

A mai făcut nişte reţele de lanţuri, asemenea celor din sanctuarul interior şi le-a pus pe vârfurile stâlpilor. Apoi a făcut o sută de rodii şi le-a fixat pe reţelele de lanţuri.

17 A nd he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.

A ridicat stâlpii în faţa Templului, pe unul în partea dreaptă şi pe celălalt în partea stângă. Pe cel din dreapta l-a numit Iachin, iar pe cel din stânga – Boaz.
