1 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Domnul i-a zis lui Moise:

2 C ommand the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.

„Porunceşte israeliţilor să-ţi aducă pentru luminat ulei pur din măsline presate, ca să ardă în candele şi astfel sfeşnicul să lumineze continuu.

3 W ithout the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the Lord continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations.

Aaron să-l pregătească în Cortul Întâlnirii, dincoace de draperia Mărturiei, ca să ardă continuu înaintea Domnului, de seara până dimineaţa. Aceasta să fie o poruncă veşnică pentru toate generaţiile voastre.

4 H e shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the Lord continually.

Să aşeze candelele în sfeşnicul de aur curat, ca să fie întotdeauna înaintea Domnului.

5 A nd thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake.

Să iei făină aleasă şi să faci din ea douăsprezece pâini; pentru fiecare pâine să foloseşti două zecimi dintr-o efă.

6 A nd thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the Lord.

Să le pui în două şiruri pe masa de aur curat, câte şase pe fiecare şir, înaintea Domnului.

7 A nd thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

Să pui tămâie curată pe fiecare şir, ca aceasta să poată fi pe pâine o aducere-aminte, o jertfă mistuită de foc pentru Domnul.

8 E very sabbath he shall set it in order before the Lord continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.

În fiecare zi de Sabat să se aducă continuu aceste pâini înaintea Domnului, fiind luate de la israeliţi printr-un legământ veşnic.

9 A nd it shall be Aaron’s and his sons’; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the Lord made by fire by a perpetual statute.

Ele vor rămâne ale lui Aaron şi ale fiilor săi, care vor trebui să le mănânce într-un loc sfânt, căci ele sunt pentru ei un lucru preasfânt, o parte din jertfele mistuite de foc pentru Domnul. Aceasta este o poruncă veşnică.“ Pedeapsa pentru hulă şi Legea Talionului

10 A nd the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp;

Fiul unei femei israelite şi al unui bărbat egiptean a ieşit printre israeliţi. Acest fiu al femeii israelite s-a luat la luptă, în tabără, cu un bărbat israelit.

11 a nd the Israelitish woman’s son blasphemed the name of the Lord, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)

Fiul femeii israelite a hulit Numele lui Dumnezeu şi L-a blestemat. L-au adus la Moise – pe mama lui o chema Şelomit, fiica lui Dibri, din seminţia lui Dan –

12 a nd they put him in ward, that the mind of the Lord might be shewed them.

şi l-au închis până avea să le fie arătată hotărârea Domnului.

13 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Domnul i-a zis lui Moise:

14 B ring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

„Scoateţi-l pe cel ce a hulit în afara taberei; toţi aceia care l-au auzit să-şi pună mâinile pe capul lui şi întreaga adunare să-l omoare cu pietre.

15 A nd thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.

Apoi să le spui israeliţilor: «Oricine Îl va blestema pe Dumnezeul lui îşi va purta pedeapsa pentru păcatul lui.

16 A nd he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death.

Cine va huli Numele Domnului va fi omorât; toată adunarea să-l omoare cu pietre. Atât străinii, cât şi băştinaşii care vor huli Numele Meu, să fie omorâţi.

17 A nd he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.

Cine va ucide un om să fie pedepsit cu moartea.

18 A nd he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.

Cine va omorî un animal va trebui să dea altul în loc: viaţă pentru viaţă.

19 A nd if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;

Dacă un om va răni pe semenul său, să i se facă aşa cum a făcut el:

20 b reach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.

rană pentru rană, ochi pentru ochi, dinte pentru dinte; să i se facă aceeaşi rană pe care a făcut-o el semenului său.

21 A nd he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death.

Cel ce va omorî un animal va trebui să dea altul în loc, însă cel ce va ucide un om să fie pedepsit cu moartea.

22 Y e shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the Lord your God.

Să aveţi aceeaşi lege atât pentru străin, cât şi pentru băştinaş, căci Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru.»“

23 A nd Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the Lord commanded Moses.

Moise le-a spus israeliţilor aceste cuvinte; ei au scos în afara taberei pe cel ce hulise şi l-au omorât cu pietre. Israeliţii au făcut aşa cum i-a poruncit Domnul lui Moise.
