1 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

El Señor habló con Moisés, y le dijo:

2 A gain, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

«Di a los hijos de Israel que todo israelita o extranjero varón que viva en Israel y ofrezca alguno de sus hijos a Moloc, será condenado a muerte. El pueblo entero lo apedreará.

3 A nd I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.

Yo me pondré en contra de ese hombre. Lo eliminaré de su pueblo por haber entregado sus hijos a Moloc, y por contaminar así mi santuario y profanar mi santo nombre.

4 A nd if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:

»Si el pueblo de la tierra se desentiende de lo hecho por quien entregue sus hijos a Moloc, y no lo condena a muerte,

5 t hen I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.

yo mismo me pondré en contra de ese hombre y de su familia, y lo eliminaré de su pueblo, junto con todos los que lo hayan imitado y se hayan prostituido yendo en pos de Moloc.

6 A nd the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

»Si alguien presta atención a los encantadores y adivinos, y se prostituye y va tras ellos, yo me pondré en contra de esa persona y la eliminaré de su pueblo.

7 S anctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God.

»Ustedes deben consagrarse a mí y ser santos, porque yo soy el Señor su Dios.

8 A nd ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the Lord which sanctify you.

»Cumplan con mis estatutos, y pónganlos en práctica. Yo soy el Señor, que los santifica.

9 F or every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

»Todo aquel que maldiga a su padre o a su madre, será condenado a muerte. Ha maldecido a su padre o a su madre, y será el responsable de su propia muerte.

10 A nd the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

»El que cometa adulterio con la mujer de su prójimo será condenado a muerte, junto con la adúltera.

11 A nd the man that lieth with his father’s wife hath uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

»El que se acueste con la mujer de su padre ha descubierto la desnudez de su padre. Por lo tanto, los dos serán condenados a muerte y serán los responsables de su muerte.

12 A nd if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.

»El que se acueste con su nuera será condenado a muerte, junto con ella. Los dos han incurrido en una grave perversión, y serán los responsables de su muerte.

13 I f a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

»El que se acueste con otro hombre como si se acostara con una mujer, será condenado a muerte, junto con ese hombre. Han incurrido en un acto repugnante, y serán los responsables de su muerte.

14 A nd if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.

»El que tome como mujeres a la hija y a la madre, incurre en un acto vil. Para que no se cometan entre ustedes actos tan viles, a él y a ellas los condenarán a morir quemados.

15 A nd if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.

»El que tenga cópula con un animal será condenado a muerte, y al animal también se le matará.

16 A nd if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

»La mujer que se allegue a un animal y tenga cópula con él, será condenada a muerte, y también se matará al animal. Los dos serán responsables de su propia muerte.

17 A nd if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.

»El que tome como mujer a su hermana, hija de su padre o hija de su madre, y vea su desnudez, y ella vea la suya, comete un acto condenable. A la vista de todo el pueblo los dos serán condenados a muerte, pues él ha visto la desnudez de su hermana, y cargará con su pecado.

18 A nd if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

»El que se acueste con una mujer menstruosa, y descubra su desnudez, será eliminado de su pueblo, lo mismo que la mujer, pues los dos han puesto al descubierto la fuente de su sangre.

19 A nd thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister, nor of thy father’s sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.

»No descubras la desnudez de tu tía materna, ni la de tu tía paterna. Si descubres la desnudez de tu parienta, tanto ella como tú cargarán con su maldad.

20 A nd if a man shall lie with his uncle’s wife, he hath uncovered his uncle’s nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.

»El que se acueste con la mujer de su tío paterno descubre la desnudez de su tío. Los dos cargarán con su pecado y morirán sin hijos.

21 A nd if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.

»El que tome como mujer a su cuñada comete un acto sucio. Ha descubierto la desnudez de su hermano, y se quedarán sin hijos.

22 Y e shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.

»Cumplan con todos mis estatutos y con todas mis ordenanzas. Pónganlas en práctica, para que no los expulse de la tierra a la que yo los llevo para que se establezcan.

23 A nd ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

No sigan las prácticas de las naciones que voy a arrojar de la presencia de ustedes, porque ellos cometieron todos esos actos, y me fueron repugnantes.

24 B ut I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the Lord your God, which have separated you from other people.

Pero a ustedes les he prometido darles posesión de la tierra de esas naciones. Es una tierra que fluye leche y miel, y yo se la entregaré a ustedes para que la posean como su herencia. Yo soy el Señor su Dios, que los ha apartado de los pueblos.

25 Y e shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

Por lo tanto, ustedes harán distinción entre los animales puros y los impuros, y entre las aves puras e impuras. No se contaminen ustedes con los animales, ni con las aves ni con ninguno de los reptiles, a los que he apartado de ustedes por ser animales impuros.

26 A nd ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

Ustedes tienen que serme santos, porque yo, el Señor, soy santo. Yo los he apartado a ustedes de los otros pueblos, para que sean míos.

27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

»El hombre y la mujer que evoquen espíritus de muertos, o que se entreguen a la adivinación, morirán apedreados y serán los responsables de su muerte.»
