1 T herefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

3 A nd I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

También a ti, mi compañero fiel, te ruego que ayudes a éstas que lucharon conmigo en el evangelio, junto con Clemente y mis otros colaboradores, cuyos nombres están en el libro de la vida.

4 R ejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Regocíjense en el Señor siempre. Y otra vez les digo, ¡regocíjense!

5 L et your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Que la gentileza de ustedes sea conocida de todos los hombres. El Señor está cerca.

6 B e careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

No se preocupen por nada. Que sus peticiones sean conocidas delante de Dios en toda oración y ruego, con acción de gracias,

7 A nd the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Y que la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guarde sus corazones y sus pensamientos en Cristo Jesús. Piensen en todo esto

8 F inally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Por lo demás, hermanos, piensen en todo lo que es verdadero, en todo lo honesto, en todo lo justo, en todo lo puro, en todo lo amable, en todo lo que es digno de alabanza; si hay en ello alguna virtud, si hay algo que admirar, piensen en ello.

9 T hose things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

10 B ut I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.

Grande ha sido mi gozo en el Señor de que al fin han reanudado ustedes su cuidado por mí. Claro, la disposición la tenían, pero les faltaba la oportunidad.

11 N ot that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

No lo digo porque tenga escasez, pues he aprendido a estar contento en cualquier situación.

12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Sé vivir con limitaciones, y también sé tener abundancia; en todo y por todo estoy enseñado, tanto para estar satisfecho como para tener hambre, lo mismo para tener abundancia que para sufrir necesidad;

13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

¡todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece!

14 N otwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

Sin embargo, hicieron bien en participar conmigo en mi tribulación.

15 N ow ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

Y bien saben ustedes, hermanos filipenses, que al principio de la predicación del evangelio, cuando partí de Macedonia, ninguna iglesia participó conmigo en cuestiones de dar y recibir, sino sólo ustedes.

16 F or even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

Incluso a Tesalónica una y otra vez ustedes me enviaron para cubrir mis necesidades.

17 N ot because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

No es que yo busque dádivas. Lo que busco es que abunde fruto en la cuenta de ustedes.

18 B ut I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

Pero todo lo he recibido, y tengo abundancia. Estoy lleno, y he recibido de Epafrodito lo que ustedes me enviaron: sacrificio aceptable, de olor fragante y agradable a Dios.

19 B ut my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Así que mi Dios suplirá todo lo que les falte, conforme a sus riquezas en gloria en Cristo Jesús.

20 N ow unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
