1 A nd he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Después me mostró un río límpido, de agua de vida. Era resplandeciente como el cristal, y salía del trono de Dios y del Cordero.

2 I n the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

En medio de la calle de la ciudad, y a cada lado del río, estaba el árbol de la vida, el cual produce doce frutos y da su fruto cada mes; las hojas del árbol eran para la sanidad de las naciones.

3 A nd there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Allí no habrá maldición. El trono de Dios y del Cordero estará en medio de ella, y sus siervos lo adorarán

4 a nd they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

y verán su rostro, y llevarán su nombre en la frente.

5 A nd there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Allí no volverá a haber noche; no hará falta la luz de ninguna lámpara ni la luz del sol, porque Dios el Señor los iluminará. Y reinarán por los siglos de los siglos. La inminente venida de Cristo

6 A nd he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

Y me dijo: «Estas palabras son fieles y verdaderas. El Señor, el Dios de los espíritus de los profetas, ya ha enviado a su ángel para que les muestre a sus siervos lo que pronto tiene que suceder.»

7 B ehold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

«¡Vengo pronto! ¡Dichoso el que obedece las palabras proféticas de este libro!»

8 A nd I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.

Yo, Juan, soy quien vio y oyó estas cosas. Después de verlas y oírlas, me postré a los pies del ángel que me mostraba estas cosas, para adorarlo,

9 T hen saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

pero él me dijo: «¡No lo hagas! Yo soy consiervo tuyo y de tus hermanos los profetas, y de los que obedecen las palabras de este libro. ¡Tú, adora a Dios!»

10 A nd he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

Y me dijo también: «No selles las palabras proféticas de este libro, porque el tiempo está cerca.

11 H e that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Deja que quien sea injusto, siga siendo injusto; que quien sea impuro, siga siendo impuro; que quien sea justo, siga practicando la justicia; y que quien sea santo, siga santificándose.»

12 A nd, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

«¡Miren! ¡Ya pronto vengo! Y traigo conmigo mi galardón, para recompensar a cada uno conforme a sus acciones.

13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Yo soy el Alfa y la Omega, el principio y el fin, el primero y el último.»

14 B lessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Bienaventurados los que lavan sus ropas, para tener derecho al árbol de la vida y para entrar por las puertas en la ciudad.

15 F or without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Pero afuera se quedarán los pervertidos, los hechiceros, los que han caído en la inmoralidad sexual, los homicidas, los idólatras, y todo aquel que ama y practica la mentira.

16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

«Yo, Jesús, he enviado a mi ángel para que les dé a ustedes testimonio acerca de estas cosas, que tratan de las iglesias. Yo soy la raíz y el linaje de David, la estrella resplandeciente de la mañana.»

17 A nd the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Y el Espíritu y la Esposa dicen: «¡Ven!» Y el que oiga, que diga: «¡Ven!» Y el que tenga sed, que venga; y el que quiera, que tome gratuitamente del agua de la vida.

18 F or I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Yo le advierto a todo aquel que oiga las palabras proféticas de este libro, que a quien añada algo a estas cosas, Dios le añadirá las plagas que están descritas en este libro.

19 a nd if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Y a quien quite algo de las palabras de este libro profético, Dios le quitará su parte del árbol de la vida, y de la santa ciudad y de lo que está descrito en este libro.

20 H e which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

El que da testimonio de estas cosas dice: «Ciertamente, vengo pronto.» Amén. ¡Ven, Señor Jesús!

21 T he grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Que la gracia del Señor Jesucristo sea con todos. Amén.
