1 D espués de la mortandad, sucedió que el Señor habló con Moisés y Eleazar, el hijo del sacerdote Aarón. Les dijo:

And it came to pass after the plague, that Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

2 « Levanten un censo de toda la congregación de todos los hijos de Israel, mayores de veinte años, que pueden salir a pelear por Israel, en el orden de las familias de sus antepasados.»

Take the sum of the whole assembly of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to their fathers' houses, all that go forth to military service in Israel.

3 M oisés y el sacerdote Eleazar hablaron con los israelitas en los campos de Moab, es decir, junto al Jordán y frente a Jericó. Les dijeron:

And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho, saying,

4 « Cuenten al pueblo mayor de veinte años, tal y como el Señor se lo ordenó a Moisés y a los hijos de Israel que salieron de Egipto.»

From twenty years old and upward …; as Jehovah had commanded Moses and the children of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt.

5 D e Rubén, primogénito de Israel, fueron contadas las siguientes familias: De Enoc, la familia de los enoquitas. De Falú, la familia de los faluitas.

Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: the children of Reuben: Enoch, the family of the Enochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

6 D e Jesrón, la familia de los jesronitas. De Carmi, la familia de los carmitas.

of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

7 É stas son las familias de los rubenitas. De ellas fueron contados cuarenta y tres mil setecientos treinta hombres.

These are the families of the Reubenites; and they that were numbered of them were forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.

8 L os hijos de Falú: Eliab.

And the sons of Pallu: Eliab;

9 L os hijos de Eliab: Nemuel, Datán y Abirán. Estos Datán y Abirán fueron los dos del consejo de la congregación que, junto con el grupo de Coré, se rebelaron contra Moisés y Aarón, y contra el Señor,

and the sons of Eliab were Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram, summoned of the assembly, who contended against Moses and against Aaron in the band of Korah, when they contended against Jehovah.

10 c uando la tierra se abrió y se los tragó, a ellos y a Coré, y aquel grupo murió al consumir el fuego a doscientos cincuenta hombres, para que sirviera de escarmiento.

And the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that band died, when the fire devoured the two hundred and fifty men; and they became a sign.

11 P ero los hijos de Coré no murieron.

But the children of Korah died not.

12 L os hijos de Simeón, en el orden de sus familias: De Nemuel, la familia de los nemuelitas. De Jamín, la familia de los jaminitas. De Jaquín, la familia de los jaquinitas.

The sons of Simeon, after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;

of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites; of Saul, the family of the Saulites.

The sons of Judah: Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.

And the sons of Pherez: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.

22 É stas son las familias de Judá, con un total de setenta y seis mil quinientos hombres.

These are the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, seventy-six thousand five hundred.

The sons of Joseph, after their families: Manasseh and Ephraim.

The sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites (and Machir begot Gilead); of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.

33 S elofejad hijo de Jéfer no tuvo hijos, sino hijas. Los nombres de las hijas de Selofejad fueron Malá, Nogá, Joglá, Milca y Tirsa.

—And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters; and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

34 É stas son las familias de Manasés, con un total de cincuenta y dos mil setecientos hombres.

—These are the families of Manasseh; and those that were numbered of them, fifty-two thousand seven hundred.

35 É stos son los hijos de Efraín, en el orden de sus familias: De Sutelaj, la familia de los sutelaítas. De Bequer, la familia de los bequeritas. De Taján, la familia de los tahanitas.

These are the sons of Ephraim, after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites; of Becher, the family of the Bachrites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.

These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty-two thousand five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.

These are the sons of Benjamin after their families; and they that were numbered of them were forty-five thousand six hundred.

All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were sixty-four thousand four hundred.

These were the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty.

52 E l Señor habló con Moisés, y le dijo:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

53 « La tierra se repartirá entre estos hombres, según los nombres censados.

Unto these shall the land be divided for an inheritance according to the number of the names;

54 A los que sean más, les darás una propiedad mayor; a los que sean menos, les darás una propiedad menor. Cada uno recibirá su propiedad según el número de hombres censados.

to the many thou shalt increase their inheritance, and to the few thou shalt diminish their inheritance; to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.

55 P ero la tierra se repartirá por sorteo, y la recibirán en propiedad según los nombres de las tribus de sus padres.

Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot; according to the names of the tribes of their fathers shall they inherit;

56 S egún les toque en suerte, la tierra se repartirá entre los que sean más y los que sean menos.» Censo de la tribu de Leví

according to lot shall his inheritance be divided to each, be they many or few in number.

57 L os levitas censados según el orden de sus familias fueron éstos: De Gersón, la familia de los gersonitas. De Coat, la familia de los coatitas. De Merari, la familia de los meraritas.

And these are the numbered of the Levites, after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.

58 É stas son las familias de los levitas: la familia de los libnitas, la familia de los hebronitas, la familia de los malitas, la familia de los musitas, la familia de los coreítas. Coat fue el padre de Amirán.

These are the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korahites.—And Kohath begot Amram.

59 L a mujer de Amirán se llamaba Jocabed, hija de Leví, y le nació a Leví en Egipto. Esta Jocabed fue la madre de Aarón, Moisés y María, y el padre de ellos fue Amirán.

And the name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.

60 A arón fue el padre de Nadab, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.

And to Aaron were born Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

61 N adab y Abiú murieron por haber ofrecido fuego extraño delante del Señor.

And Nadab and Abihu died, when they presented strange fire before Jehovah.

62 L os levitas censados fueron veintitrés mil hombres, todos ellos mayores de un mes. No fueron contados entre los hijos de Israel porque no recibieron ninguna propiedad entre los hijos de Israel. Caleb y Josué sobreviven

And those that were numbered of the were twenty-three thousand, all males from a month old and upward; for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.

63 É stos son los israelitas censados por Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán y frente a Jericó.

These are they that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab, by the Jordan of Jericho.

64 N inguno de ellos era de los que fueron contados por Moisés y el sacerdote Aarón en el desierto de Sinaí.

But among these there was not a man numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.

65 Y es que el Señor había dicho acerca de ellos: Morirán en el desierto. Así que ninguno de ellos quedó con vida, excepto Caleb hijo de Yefune y Josué hijo de Nun.

For Jehovah had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
