1 E ntonces el Señor le dijo a Moisés: «Preséntate ante el faraón, y dile: “El Señor, el Dios de los hebreos, dice así: ‘Deja ir a mi pueblo, para que me sirva.’

And Jehovah said to Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith Jehovah the God of the Hebrews: Let my people go, that they may serve me.

2 P orque si no lo dejas ir, y sigues deteniéndolo,

For if thou refuse to let them go, and shalt retain them still,

3 l a mano del Señor va a caer sobre los ganados que tienes en el campo, y sobre los caballos, los asnos, los camellos, las vacas y las ovejas. Será una plaga muy grave.

behold, the hand of Jehovah shall be on thy cattle which is in the field, on the horses, on the asses, on the camels, on the oxen and on the sheep, with a very grievous plague.

4 Y el Señor hará distinción entre los ganados de Israel y los de Egipto, de modo que no muera nada de lo que es de los hijos de Israel.

And Jehovah will distinguish between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt; and there shall nothing die of all that the children of Israel have.

5 E l Señor ha puesto un plazo, y ha dicho: ‘Yo, el Señor, haré esto en el país mañana.’”»

And Jehovah appointed a set time, saying, To-morrow will Jehovah do this thing in the land.

6 A l día siguiente el Señor hizo todo aquello, y murió todo el ganado de Egipto, pero del ganado de los hijos de Israel no murió una sola cabeza.

And Jehovah did this thing on the following day, and all the cattle of Egypt died; but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.

7 E ntonces el faraón mandó a ver, y resultó que del ganado de los hijos de Israel no había muerto un solo animal. Sin embargo, el corazón del faraón se endureció y no dejó ir al pueblo. La plaga de úlceras

And Pharaoh sent, and behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.

8 E l Señor dijo a Moisés y a Aarón: «Tomen de un horno puñados de ceniza, y que la arroje Moisés al cielo en presencia del faraón.

And Jehovah said to Moses and to Aaron, Take to yourselves handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses scatter it toward the heavens before the eyes of Pharaoh.

9 L a ceniza se hará polvo y caerá sobre toda la tierra de Egipto, y en todo Egipto producirá sarpullido con úlceras en la gente y en los animales.»

And it shall become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and shall become boils on man and on cattle, breaking out blisters, throughout the land of Egypt.

10 Y ellos tomaron ceniza, y se enfrentaron al faraón, y Moisés arrojó la ceniza al cielo, y hubo sarpullido que produjo úlceras tanto en la gente como en los animales.

And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it toward the heavens; and it became boils blisters breaking out on man and on cattle.

11 P or causa del sarpullido, los hechiceros no pudieron enfrentarse a Moisés, porque hubo sarpullido en los hechiceros y en todos los egipcios.

And the scribes could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils were on the scribes, and on all the Egyptians.

12 P ero el Señor endureció el corazón del faraón y tal y como el Señor lo había dicho, no le hizo caso a Moisés. La plaga de granizo

And Jehovah made Pharaoh's heart stubborn, and he did not hearken to them, as Jehovah had told Moses.

13 E l Señor le dijo a Moisés: «Levántate muy temprano, y preséntate ante el faraón y dile: “Así dice el Señor, el Dios de los hebreos: ‘Deja ir a mi pueblo, para que me sirva.’

And Jehovah said to Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and set thyself before Pharaoh, and say to him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews: Let my people go, that they may serve me.

14 P orque esta vez voy a enviar a tu corazón, y a tus siervos y a tu pueblo, todas mis plagas, para que entiendas que no hay en toda la tierra otro dios como yo.

For I will at this time send all my plagues to thy heart, and on thy bondmen, and on thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.

15 V oy a extender ahora mi mano, y a ti y a tu pueblo los heriré con una plaga, y tú dejarás de existir.

For now shall I put forth my hand, and I will smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.

16 A decir verdad, yo te he puesto para mostrar en ti mi poder, y para que mi nombre sea proclamado en toda la tierra.

And for this very cause have I raised thee up, to shew thee my power; and that my name may be declared in all the earth.

17 ¿ Aun así, en tu soberbia, retienes a mi pueblo y no lo dejas ir?

Dost thou still exalt thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?

18 P ues mañana a estas horas haré que caiga sobre Egipto un granizo muy pesado, como nunca antes lo hubo desde que Egipto se fundó hasta ahora.

Behold, to-morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since its foundation until now.

19 A sí que manda recoger tu ganado, y todo lo que tienes en el campo, porque el granizo caerá sobre todo hombre o animal que se halle en el campo y que no se guarezca en casa, y morirá.”»

And now send, secure thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field: all the men and the cattle that are found in the field, and are not brought home—on them the hail shall come down, and they shall die.

20 L os siervos del faraón que tuvieron temor de la palabra del Señor hicieron que sus criados y su ganado se guarecieran en casa,

He that feared the word of Jehovah among the bondmen of Pharaoh made his bondmen and his cattle flee into the houses.

21 p ero los que no recibieron en su corazón la palabra del Señor dejaron en el campo a sus criados y sus ganados.

But he that did not regard the word of Jehovah left his bondmen and his cattle in the field.

22 E ntonces el Señor le dijo a Moisés: «Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo, para que en todo Egipto caiga granizo sobre hombres y animales, y sobre toda la hierba del campo.»

And Jehovah said to Moses, Stretch out thy hand toward the heavens, that there may be hail throughout the land of Egypt, upon men, and upon cattle, and upon every herb of the field in the land of Egypt.

23 Y Moisés extendió su vara hacia el cielo, y el Señor hizo que tronara y granizara, y que cayera fuego sobre la tierra. El Señor hizo que cayera granizo sobre todo Egipto.

And Moses stretched out his staff toward the heavens, and Jehovah gave thunder and hail; and the fire ran along the ground; and Jehovah rained hail on the land of Egypt.

24 L lovió granizo, y fuego mezclado con el granizo; un granizo tan grande, como nunca antes lo hubo en todo Egipto desde que el país fue habitado.

And there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there had been none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

25 Y en todo Egipto ese granizo hirió todo lo que estaba en el campo, lo mismo a los hombres que a los animales. De igual manera, el granizo destrozó toda la hierba del campo y desgajó todos los árboles del país.

And the hail smote throughout the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both men and cattle; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field.

26 E l único lugar donde no hubo granizo fue la tierra de Gosén, donde estaban los hijos de Israel.

Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.

27 E ntonces el faraón mandó a llamar a Moisés y a Aarón, y les dijo: «Esta vez he pecado. El Señor es justo, y mi pueblo y yo somos impíos.

And Pharaoh sent, and called Moses and Aaron, and said to them, I have sinned this time: Jehovah is the righteous, but I and my people are the wicked.

28 O ren al Señor para que cesen esos ensordecedores truenos y el granizo. No voy a seguir deteniéndolos. Voy a dejarlos ir.»

Intreat Jehovah that it may be enough, that there be no more thunder of God and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer!

29 Y Moisés le respondió: «Tan pronto como yo salga de la ciudad, extenderé mis manos al Señor y los truenos cesarán. Ya no habrá más granizo. Así sabrás que la tierra es del Señor.

And Moses said to him, When I go out of the city, I will spread out my hands to Jehovah: the thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail; that thou mayest know that the earth is Jehovah's.

30 A unque yo sé que ni tú ni tus siervos tendrán todavía temor de la presencia de Dios, el Señor.»

But as to thee and thy bondmen, I know that ye do not yet fear Jehovah Elohim.

31 C omo la cebada estaba ya espigada, y el lino estaba en caña, tanto éste como aquélla quedaron destrozados;

And the flax and the barley were smitten; for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.

32 p ero el trigo y el centeno no fueron destrozados porque son productos tardíos.

But the wheat and the spelt were not smitten; for they were not come out into ear.

33 E n cuanto Moisés salió de la presencia del faraón y estuvo fuera de la ciudad, extendió sus manos al Señor, y cesaron los truenos y el granizo, y la lluvia dejó de caer sobre la tierra.

And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread out his hands to Jehovah; and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth.

34 P ero al ver el faraón que la lluvia había cesado, lo mismo que el granizo y los truenos, se obstinó en seguir pecando, y tanto él como sus siervos endurecieron su corazón.

And Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders had ceased, and he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he, and his bondmen.

35 D e tal manera se endureció el corazón del faraón que no dejó ir a los hijos de Israel, tal y como el Señor lo había dicho por medio de Moisés.

And the heart of Pharaoh was stubborn, neither would he let the children of Israel go, as Jehovah had spoken by Moses.
