1 П осле сего был праздник Иудейский, и пришел Иисус в Иерусалим.

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Е сть же в Иерусалиме у Овечьих купальня, называемая по-еврейски Вифезда, при которой было пять крытых ходов.

Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.

3 В них лежало великое множество больных, слепых, хромых, иссохших, ожидающих движения воды,

In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.

4 и бо Ангел Господень по временам сходил в купальню и возмущал воду, и кто первый входил по возмущении воды, тот выздоравливал, какою бы ни был одержим болезнью.

For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.

5 Т ут был человек, находившийся в болезни тридцать восемь лет.

Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.

6 И исус, увидев его лежащего и узнав, что он лежит уже долгое время, говорит ему: хочешь ли быть здоров?

When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

7 Б ольной отвечал Ему: так, Господи; но не имею человека, который опустил бы меня в купальню, когда возмутится вода; когда же я прихожу, другой уже сходит прежде меня.

The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

8 И исус говорит ему: встань, возьми постель твою и ходи.

Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”

9 И он тотчас выздоровел, и взял постель свою и пошел. Было же это в день субботний.

And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.

10 П осему Иудеи говорили исцеленному: сегодня суббота; не должно тебе брать постели.

The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.”

11 О н отвечал им: Кто меня исцелил, Тот мне сказал: возьми постель твою и ходи.

He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’ ”

12 Е го спросили: кто Тот Человек, Который сказал тебе: возьми постель твою и ходи?

Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’ ?”

13 И сцеленный же не знал, кто Он, ибо Иисус скрылся в народе, бывшем на том месте.

But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place.

14 П отом Иисус встретил его в храме и сказал ему: вот, ты выздоровел; не греши больше, чтобы не случилось с тобою чего хуже.

Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”

15 Ч еловек сей пошел и объявил Иудеям, что исцеливший его есть Иисус.

The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well. Honor the Father and the Son

16 И стали Иудеи гнать Иисуса и искали убить Его за то, что Он делал такие в субботу.

For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath.

17 И исус же говорил им: Отец Мой доныне делает, и Я делаю.

But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”

18 И еще более искали убить Его Иудеи за то, что Он не только нарушал субботу, но и Отцем Своим называл Бога, делая Себя равным Богу.

Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.

19 Н а это Иисус сказал: истинно, истинно говорю вам: Сын ничего не может творить Сам от Себя, если не увидит Отца творящего: ибо, что творит Он, то и Сын творит также.

Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

20 И бо Отец любит Сына и показывает Ему все, что творит Сам; и покажет Ему дела больше сих, так что вы удивитесь.

For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

21 И бо, как Отец воскрешает мертвых и оживляет, так и Сын оживляет, кого хочет.

For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.

22 И бо Отец и не судит никого, но весь суд отдал Сыну,

For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,

23 д абы все чтили Сына, как чтут Отца. Кто не чтит Сына, тот не чтит и Отца, пославшего Его.

that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. Life and Judgment Are Through the Son

24 И стинно, истинно говорю вам: слушающий слово Мое и верующий в Пославшего Меня имеет жизнь вечную, и на суд не приходит, но перешел от смерти в жизнь.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

25 И стинно, истинно говорю вам: наступает время, и настало уже, когда мертвые услышат глас Сына Божия и, услышав, оживут.

Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

26 И бо, как Отец имеет жизнь в Самом Себе, так и Сыну дал иметь жизнь в Самом Себе.

For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,

27 И дал Ему власть производить и суд, потому что Он есть Сын Человеческий.

and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

28 Н е дивитесь сему; ибо наступает время, в которое все, находящиеся в гробах, услышат глас Сына Божия;

Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice

29 и изыдут творившие добро в воскресение жизни, а делавшие зло--в воскресение осуждения.

and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

30 Я ничего не могу творить Сам от Себя. Как слышу, так и сужу, и суд Мой праведен; ибо не ищу Моей воли, но воли пославшего Меня Отца.

I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me. The Fourfold Witness

31 Е сли Я свидетельствую Сам о Себе, то свидетельство Мое не есть истинно.

“If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true.

32 Е сть другой, свидетельствующий о Мне; и Я знаю, что истинно то свидетельство, которым он свидетельствует о Мне.

There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true.

33 В ы посылали к Иоанну, и он засвидетельствовал об истине.

You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.

34 В прочем Я не от человека принимаю свидетельство, но говорю это для того, чтобы вы спаслись.

Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved.

35 О н был светильник, горящий и светящий; а вы хотели малое время порадоваться при свете его.

He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.

36 Я же имею свидетельство больше Иоаннова: ибо дела, которые Отец дал Мне совершить, самые дела сии, Мною творимые, свидетельствуют о Мне, что Отец послал Меня.

But I have a greater witness than John’s; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.

37 И пославший Меня Отец Сам засвидетельствовал о Мне. А вы ни гласа Его никогда не слышали, ни лица Его не видели;

And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.

38 и не имеете слова Его пребывающего в вас, потому что вы не веруете Тому, Которого Он послал.

But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.

39 И сследуйте Писания, ибо вы думаете чрез них иметь жизнь вечную; а они свидетельствуют о Мне.

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

40 Н о вы не хотите придти ко Мне, чтобы иметь жизнь.

But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

41 Н е принимаю славы от человеков,

“I do not receive honor from men.

42 н о знаю вас: вы не имеете в себе любви к Богу.

But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.

43 Я пришел во имя Отца Моего, и не принимаете Меня; а если иной придет во имя свое, его примете.

I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.

44 К ак вы можете веровать, когда друг от друга принимаете славу, а славы, которая от Единого Бога, не ищете?

How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?

45 Н е думайте, что Я буду обвинять вас пред Отцем: есть на вас обвинитель Моисей, на которого вы уповаете.

Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust.

46 И бо если бы вы верили Моисею, то поверили бы и Мне, потому что он писал о Мне.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.

47 Е сли же его писаниям не верите, как поверите Моим словам?

But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
