1 I n Yahweh, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain!”

La Domnul găsesc scăpare! Cum puteţi să-mi spuneţi:,, Fugi în munţii voştri, ca o pasăre?``

2 F or, behold, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrows on the strings, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

Căci iată că cei răi încordează arcul, îşi potrivesc săgeata pe coardă, ca să tragă pe ascuns celor cu inima curată.

3 I f the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Şi cînd se surpă temeliile, ce ar putea să mai facă cel neprihănit?

4 Y ahweh is in his holy temple. Yahweh is on his throne in heaven. His eyes observe. His eyes examine the children of men.

Domnul este în Templul Lui cel sfînt, Domnul Îşi are scaunul de domnie în ceruri. Ochii Lui privesc, şi ploapele Lui cercetează pe fiii oamenilor.

5 Y ahweh examines the righteous, but the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.

Domnul cearcă pe cel neprihănit, dar urăşte pe cel rău şi pe cel ce iubeşte silnicia.

6 O n the wicked he will rain blazing coals; fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.

Peste cei răi plouă cărbuni, foc şi pucioasă: un vînt dogoritor, iată paharul de care au ei parte.

7 F or Yahweh is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.

Căci Domnul este drept, iubeşte dreptatea, şi cei neprihăniţi privesc Faţa Lui.
