2 b ut I will send a fire on Moab, and it will devour the palaces of Kerioth; and Moab will die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet;

de aceea voi trimete foc în Moab, şi va mistui palatele Cheriotului; şi Moabul va pieri în mijlocul zarvei, în mijlocul strigătelor de război şi sunetul trîmbiţei:

3 a nd I will cut off the judge from among them, and will kill all its princes with him,” says Yahweh.

Voi nimici cu desăvîrşire pe judecător din mijlocul lui, şi voi ucide pe toate căpeteniile lui împreună cu el, zice Domnul.``

4 Y ahweh says: “For three transgressions of Judah, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have rejected Yahweh’s law, and have not kept his statutes, and their lies have led them astray, after which their fathers walked;

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul:,, Pentru trei nelegiuiri ale lui Iuda, ba pentru patru, nu-Mi schimb hotărîrea, pentrucă au nesocotit Legea Domnului şi n'au păzit poruncile Lui, ci s'au lăsat duşi în rătăcire de idolii cei mincinoşi după cari au umblat şi părinţii lor;

5 B ut I will send a fire on Judah, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem.”

de aceea, voi trimete foc în Iuda, şi va mistui palatele Ierusalimului.``

6 Y ahweh says: “For three transgressions of Israel, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes;

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul:,, Pentru trei nelegiuiri ale lui Israel, ba pentru patru, nu-Mi schimb hotărîrea, pentrucă au vîndut pe cel neprihănit pe bani, şi pe sărac pe o păreche de încălţăminte.

7 T hey trample on the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and deny justice to the oppressed; and a man and his father use the same maiden, to profane my holy name;

Ei doresc să vadă ţărîna pămîntului pe capul celor sărmani, şi calcă în picioare dreptul celor nenorociţi. Fiul şi tatăl se duc la aceeaş fată, ca să pîngărească Numele Meu cel sfînt.

8 a nd they lay themselves down beside every altar on clothes taken in pledge; and in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined.

Se întind lîngă fiecare altar pe haine luate ca zălog, şi beau în casa dumnezeilor lor amenda celor osîndiţi de ei.

9 Y et I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.

Şi totuş Eu am nimicit dinaintea lor pe Amoriţi, cari erau cît cedrii de înalţi, şi tari ca stejarii; le-am nimicit roadele din vîrf pînă în rădăcini.

10 A lso I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

Şi Eu v'am scos din ţara Egiptului, şi v'am povăţuit patruzeci de ani în pustie, ca să vă dau în stăpînire ţara Amoriţilor.

11 I raised up some of your sons for prophets, and some of your young men for Nazirites. Isn’t this true, you children of Israel?” says Yahweh.

Am ridicat prooroci dintre fiii voştri, şi Nazirei dintre tinerii voştri. Nu este aşa, copii ai lui Israel? zice Domnul...

12 “ But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink, and commanded the prophets, saying, ‘Don’t prophesy!’

Iar voi aţi dat Nazireilor să bea vin, şi proorocilor le-aţi poruncit:, Nu proorociţi!`

13 B ehold, I will crush you in your place, as a cart crushes that is full of grain.

Iată, vă voi stropşi cum stropşeşte pămîntul carul încărcat cu snopi,

14 F light will perish from the swift; and the strong won’t strengthen his force; neither shall the mighty deliver himself;

aşa că cel iute nu va putea să fugă, iar cel tare nu se va putea sluji de tăria lui, şi omul viteaz nu-şi va scăpa viaţa.

15 n either shall he stand who handles the bow; and he who is swift of foot won’t escape; neither shall he who rides the horse deliver himself;

Cel ce mînuieşte arcul nu va putea să ţină piept, cel iute de picioare nu va scăpa, şi călăreţul nu-şi va scăpa viaţa;

16 a nd he who is courageous among the mighty will flee away naked on that day,” says Yahweh.

iar cel mai inimos dintre războinici, va fugi în pielea goală în ziua aceea, zice Domnul.``
