1 E l Señor es mi luz y mi salvación; ¿A quién temeré? El Señor es la fortaleza de mi vida; ¿De quién tendré temor ?

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2 C uando los malhechores vinieron sobre mí para devorar mis carnes, Ellos, mis adversarios y mis enemigos, tropezaron y cayeron.

When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3 S i un ejército acampa contra mí, No temerá mi corazón; Si contra mí se levanta guerra, A pesar de ello, yo estaré confiado.

Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

4 U na cosa he pedido al Señor, y ésa buscaré: Que habite yo en la casa del Señor todos los días de mi vida, Para contemplar la hermosura del Señor Y para meditar en Su templo.

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

5 P orque en el día de la angustia me esconderá en Su tabernáculo; En lo secreto de Su tienda me ocultará; Sobre una roca me pondrá en alto.

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

6 E ntonces será levantada mi cabeza sobre mis enemigos que me cercan, Y en Su tienda ofreceré sacrificios con voces de júbilo; Cantaré, sí, cantaré alabanzas al Señor.

And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

7 E scucha, oh Señor, mi voz cuando clamo; Ten piedad de mí, y respóndeme.

Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8 C uando dijiste: “Busquen Mi rostro,” mi corazón Te respondió: “Tu rostro, Señor, buscaré.”

When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.

9 N o escondas Tu rostro de mí; No rechaces con ira a Tu siervo; Tú has sido mi ayuda. No me abandones ni me desampares, Oh Dios de mi salvación.

Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10 P orque aunque mi padre y mi madre me hayan abandonado, El Señor me recogerá.

When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.

11 S eñor, enséñame Tu camino, Y guíame por senda llana Por causa de mis enemigos.

Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

12 N o me entregues a la voluntad de mis adversarios; Porque testigos falsos se han levantado contra mí, Y los que respiran violencia.

Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

13 H ubiera yo desmayado, si no hubiera creído que había de ver la bondad del Señor En la tierra de los vivientes.

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

14 E spera al Señor; Esfuérzate y aliéntese tu corazón. Sí, espera al Señor.

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
