1 D espués que Aod murió, los Israelitas volvieron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos del Señor.

And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, when Ehud was dead.

2 Y el Señor los vendió en mano de Jabín, rey de Canaán, que reinaba en Hazor. El comandante de su ejército era Sísara, que vivía en Haroset Goyim.

And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

3 E ntonces los Israelitas clamaron al Señor, porque Jabín tenía 900 carros de hierro y había oprimido duramente a los Israelitas durante veinte años.

And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

4 D ébora, profetisa, mujer de Lapidot, juzgaba a Israel en aquel tiempo.

And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

5 E lla se sentaba debajo de la palmera de Débora entre Ramá y Betel, en la región montañosa de Efraín; y los Israelitas subían a ella a pedir juicio.

And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth-el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

6 E lla mandó llamar a Barac, hijo de Abinoam, de Cedes de Neftalí, y le dijo: “Esto ha ordenado el Señor, Dios de Israel: ‘Ve, marcha al Monte Tabor y lleva contigo a 10, 000 hombres de los hijos de Neftalí y de los hijos de Zabulón.

And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

7 Y yo atraeré hacia ti a Sísara, comandante del ejército de Jabín, con sus carros y sus muchas tropas hacia el torrente Cisón, y lo entregaré en tus manos.’”

And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.

8 B arac le respondió: “Si tú vas conmigo, yo iré; pero si no vas conmigo, no iré.”

And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

9 “ Ciertamente iré contigo,” le dijo Débora. “Sin embargo, el honor no será tuyo en la jornada que vas a emprender, porque el Señor venderá a Sísara en manos de una mujer.” Entonces Débora se levantó y fue con Barac a Cedes.

And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

10 B arac convocó a Zabulón y a Neftalí en Cedes, y subieron con él 10, 000 hombres. Débora también subió con él.

And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.

11 H eber el Quenita, se había separado de los Quenitas, de los hijos de Hobab, suegro de Moisés, y había plantado su tienda cerca de la encina en Zaanaim, que está junto a Cedes. Derrota y Muerte de Sísara

Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.

12 A visaron a Sísara que Barac, hijo de Abinoam, había subido al Monte Tabor.

And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.

13 Y juntó Sísara todos sus carros, 900 carros de hierro, y a toda la gente que estaba con él, desde Haroset Goyim hasta el torrente Cisón.

And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.

14 E ntonces Débora dijo a Barac: “¡Levántate! Porque éste es el día en que el Señor ha entregado a Sísara en tus manos. Ya que el Señor ha salido delante de ti.” Bajó, pues, Barac del Monte Tabor seguido de 10, 000 hombres.

And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

15 E l Señor derrotó a Sísara, con todos sus carros y todo su ejército, a filo de espada delante de Barac. Y Sísara bajó de su carro, y huyó a pie.

And the Lord discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

16 B arac persiguió los carros y el ejército hasta Haroset Goyim, y todo el ejército de Sísara cayó a filo de espada. No quedó ni uno.

But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.

17 P ero Sísara huyó a pie a la tienda de Jael, mujer de Heber el Quenita. Porque había paz entre Jabín, rey de Hazor, y la casa de Heber el Quenita.

Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

18 J ael salió al encuentro de Sísara, y le dijo: “Venga, señor mío, venga a mí; no tema.” Y él fue hacia ella a la tienda, y ella lo cubrió con una manta.

And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.

19 Y él le dijo: “Te ruego que me des a beber un poco de agua, porque tengo sed.” Y ella abrió un odre de leche y le dio de beber; entonces lo cubrió.

And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.

20 Y él le dijo: “Ponte a la entrada de la tienda, y si alguien viene y te pregunta: ‘¿Hay alguien aquí?’ tú responderás: ‘No.’”

Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.

21 P ero Jael, mujer de Heber, tomó una estaca de la tienda y tomando en la mano un martillo, se le acercó silenciosamente y le clavó la estaca en las sienes, la cual penetró en la tierra, pues él estaba profundamente dormido y agotado, y murió.

Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

22 Y cuando Barac venía persiguiendo a Sísara, Jael salió a su encuentro, y le dijo: “Ven, y te mostraré al hombre que buscas.” Y él entró con ella, y vio que Sísara estaba tendido, muerto con la estaca en la sien.

And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.

23 A sí sometió Dios en aquel día a Jabín, rey de Canaán, delante de los Israelitas.

So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.

24 Y la mano de los Israelitas se hizo más y más dura sobre Jabín, rey de Canaán, hasta que lo destruyeron.

And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
