1 J usto eres Tú, oh Señor, cuando a Ti presento mi causa; En verdad asuntos de justicia voy a discutir contigo. ¿Por qué prospera el camino de los impíos Y viven en paz todos los que obran con perfidia ?

Righteous art thou, O Lord, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

2 T ú los plantas, y echan raíces; Crecen, dan fruto. Cerca estás de sus labios, Pero lejos de su corazón.

Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

3 P ero Tú me conoces, oh Señor, Tú me ves, Y compruebas la actitud de mi corazón para contigo. Arrástralos como ovejas para el matadero Y sepáralos para el día de la matanza.

But thou, O Lord, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

4 ¿ Hasta cuándo estará de luto la tierra Y marchita la vegetación de todo el campo ? Por la maldad de los que moran en ella Han sido destruidos los animales y las aves, Porque han dicho: “Dios no verá nuestro fin.” Respuesta de Dios

How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.

5 “ Si corriste con los de a pie y te cansaron, ¿Cómo, pues, vas a competir con los caballos? Si caes en tierra de paz, ¿Cómo te irá en la espesura del Jordán ?

If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

6 P orque además tus hermanos y la casa de tu padre, También ellos te han traicionado, También ellos han dado gritos en pos de ti. No les creas aunque te digan cosas agradables.

For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.

7 H e dejado Mi casa, He abandonado Mi heredad, He entregado a la amada de Mi alma En manos de sus enemigos.

I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

8 M i heredad vino a ser para Mí Como león en la selva; Rugió contra Mí; Por tanto, la aborrecí.

Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.

9 ¿ Es acaso Mi heredad para Mí como ave de rapiña de varios colores? ¿Están las aves de rapiña por todos lados contra ella ? Vayan, reúnan a todas las bestias del campo, Tráiganlas para que la devoren.

Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.

10 M uchos pastores han arruinado Mi viña, Han pisoteado Mi heredad; Han hecho de Mi hermosa heredad Un desierto desolado.

Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

11 F ue hecha una desolación, Desolada, llora sobre Mí; Todo el país ha sido desolado, Porque no hubo nadie que le importara.

They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.

12 S obre todas las alturas desoladas del desierto Han venido destructores, Porque la espada del Señor devora De un extremo de la tierra al otro; No hay paz para nadie.

The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the Lord shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

13 H an sembrado trigo y han segado espinos, Se han esforzado sin provecho alguno. Avergüéncense, pues, de sus cosechas A causa de la ardiente ira del Señor.”

They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the Lord.

14 A sí dice el Señor en cuanto a todos Mis malvados vecinos que atacan la heredad que he dado en posesión a Mi pueblo Israel: “Los arrancaré de su tierra, y a la casa de Judá la arrancaré de en medio de ellos.

Thus saith the Lord against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

15 D espués que los haya arrancado, volveré y les tendré compasión, y los haré regresar cada uno a su heredad y cada cual a su tierra.

And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

16 Y si ellos de verdad aprenden los caminos de Mi pueblo, jurando en Mi nombre: ‘Vive el Señor,’ así como ellos enseñaron a Mi pueblo a jurar por Baal, entonces serán restablecidos en medio de Mi pueblo.

And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The Lord liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.

17 P ero si no escuchan (obedecen), entonces arrancaré esa nación, sí la arrancaré y la destruiré,” declara el Señor.

But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the Lord.
