1 P orque sabemos que si la tienda terrenal que es nuestra morada, es destruida, tenemos de Dios un edificio, una casa no hecha por manos, eterna en los cielos.

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

2 P ues, en verdad, en esta morada gemimos, anhelando ser vestidos con nuestra habitación celestial;

For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

3 y una vez vestidos, no seremos hallados desnudos.

if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

4 P orque asimismo, los que estamos en esta tienda, gemimos agobiados, pues no queremos ser desvestidos, sino vestidos, para que lo mortal sea absorbido por la vida.

For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

5 Y el que nos preparó para esto mismo es Dios, quien nos dio el Espíritu como garantía.

Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

6 P or tanto, animados siempre y sabiendo que mientras habitamos (estamos presentes) en el cuerpo, estamos ausentes del Señor.

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

7 P orque por fe andamos, no por vista (no por apariencias).

(for we walk by faith, not by sight:)

8 P ero cobramos ánimo y preferimos más bien estar ausentes del cuerpo y habitar (estar presentes) con el Señor.

we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

9 P or eso, ya sea presentes o ausentes, ambicionamos agradar al Señor.

Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

10 P orque todos nosotros debemos comparecer ante el tribunal de Cristo, para que cada uno sea recompensado por sus hechos estando en el cuerpo, de acuerdo con lo que hizo, sea bueno o sea malo. La Nueva Criatura

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

11 P or tanto, conociendo el temor del Señor, persuadimos a los hombres, pero a Dios somos manifiestos, y espero que también seamos manifiestos en las conciencias de ustedes.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

12 N o nos recomendamos otra vez a ustedes, sino que les damos oportunidad de estar orgullosos de nosotros, para que tengan respuesta para los que se jactan en las apariencias y no en el corazón.

For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

13 P orque si estamos locos, es para Dios; y si estamos cuerdos, es para ustedes.

For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

14 P ues el amor de Cristo nos apremia (nos controla), habiendo llegado a esta conclusión: que Uno murió por todos, y por consiguiente, todos murieron.

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

15 Y por todos murió, para que los que viven, ya no vivan para sí, sino para Aquél que murió y resucitó por ellos.

and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

16 D e manera que nosotros de ahora en adelante ya no conocemos a nadie según la carne. Aunque hemos conocido a Cristo según la carne, sin embargo, ahora ya no Lo conocemos así.

Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

17 D e modo que si alguno está en Cristo, nueva criatura (nueva creación) es; las cosas viejas pasaron, ahora han sido hechas nuevas. El Ministerio de la Reconciliación

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18 Y todo esto procede de Dios, quien nos reconcilió con El mismo por medio de Cristo, y nos dio el ministerio de la reconciliación;

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 e s decir, que Dios estaba en Cristo reconciliando al mundo con El mismo, no tomando en cuenta a los hombres sus transgresiones, y nos ha encomendado a nosotros la palabra de la reconciliación.

to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 P or tanto, somos embajadores de Cristo, como si Dios rogara por medio de nosotros, en nombre de Cristo les rogamos: ¡Reconcíliense con Dios!

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21 A l que no conoció pecado, Lo hizo pecado por nosotros, para que fuéramos hechos justicia de Dios en El.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
