1 A conteció que mientras la multitud se agolpaba sobre El para oír la palabra de Dios, estando Jesús junto al lago de Genesaret,

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

2 v io dos barcas que estaban a la orilla del lago, pero los pescadores habían bajado de ellas y lavaban las redes.

and saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

3 S ubiendo a una de las barcas, que era de Simón, pidió que se separara un poco de tierra; y sentándose, enseñaba a las multitudes desde la barca.

And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

4 A l terminar de hablar, dijo a Simón: “Sal a la parte más profunda y echen sus redes para pescar.”

Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 S imón Le contestó: “Maestro, hemos estado trabajando toda la noche y no hemos pescado nada, pero porque Tú lo pides (a Tu palabra), echaré las redes.”

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 C uando lo hicieron, encerraron una gran cantidad de peces, de modo que sus redes se rompían.

And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

7 E ntonces hicieron señas a sus compañeros que estaban en la otra barca para que vinieran a ayudarlos. Y vinieron y llenaron ambas barcas, de tal manera que se hundían.

And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

8 A l ver esto, Simón Pedro cayó a los pies de Jesús, diciendo: “¡Apártate de mí, Señor, pues soy hombre pecador!”

When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

9 P orque el asombro se había apoderado de él y de todos sus compañeros, por la gran pesca que habían hecho;

For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

10 y lo mismo les sucedió también a Jacobo (Santiago) y a Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que eran socios de Simón. Y Jesús dijo a Simón: “No temas; desde ahora serás pescador de hombres.”

and so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

11 Y después de traer las barcas a tierra, dejándolo todo, siguieron a Jesús. Curación de un Leproso

And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

12 E stando Jesús en una de las ciudades, había allí un hombre lleno de lepra, y cuando vio a Jesús, cayó sobre su rostro y Le rogó: “Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme.”

And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

13 E xtendiendo Jesús la mano, lo tocó, diciendo: “Quiero; sé limpio.” Y al instante la lepra lo dejó.

And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.

14 Y El le mandó que no se lo dijera a nadie. “Pero anda,” le dijo, “muéstrate al sacerdote y da una ofrenda por tu purificación según lo ordenó Moisés, para que les sirva de testimonio.”

And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

15 S u fama se difundía cada vez más, y grandes multitudes se congregaban para oír a Jesús y ser sanadas de sus enfermedades.

But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.

16 P ero con frecuencia El se retiraba a lugares solitarios y oraba. Curación de un Paralítico

And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

17 Y un día que El estaba enseñando, estaban allí sentados algunos Fariseos y maestros de la ley que habían venido de todas las aldeas de Galilea y Judea, y de Jerusalén; y el poder del Señor estaba con El para sanar.

And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judæa, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

18 Y unos hombres trajeron en una camilla a un hombre que estaba paralítico; y trataban de meterlo y ponerlo delante de Jesús.

And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.

19 N o hallando cómo introducirlo debido a la multitud, subieron a la azotea y lo bajaron con la camilla a través del techo, poniéndolo en medio, delante de Jesús.

And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

20 A l ver Jesús la fe de ellos, dijo: “Hombre, tus pecados te son perdonados.”

And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

21 E ntonces los escribas y Fariseos comenzaron a razonar, diciendo: “¿Quién es Este que habla blasfemias? ¿Quién puede perdonar pecados, sino sólo Dios ?”

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

22 C onociendo Jesús sus pensamientos, les respondió: “¿Por qué razonan en sus corazones?

But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?

23 ¿ Qué es más fácil, decir: ‘Tus pecados te son perdonados,’ o decir: ‘Levántate y anda’?

Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

24 P ues para que sepan que el Hijo del Hombre tiene autoridad en la tierra para perdonar pecados,” dijo al paralítico: “A ti te digo: levántate, toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa.”

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

25 A l instante se levantó delante de ellos, tomó la camilla en que había estado acostado, y se fue a su casa glorificando a Dios.

And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

26 E l asombro se apoderó de todos y glorificaban a Dios; y se llenaron de temor, diciendo: “Hoy hemos visto cosas extraordinarias.” Llamamiento de Leví y la Cena en su Casa

And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

27 D espués de esto, Jesús salió y se fijó en un recaudador de impuestos llamado Leví (Mateo), sentado en la oficina de los tributos, y le dijo: “Sígueme.”

And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.

28 Y él, dejándolo todo, se levantó y Lo seguía.

And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

29 L eví Le ofreció un gran banquete en su casa, y había un grupo grande de recaudadores de impuestos y de otros que estaban sentados a la mesa con ellos.

And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

30 Y los Fariseos y sus escribas se quejaban a los discípulos de Jesús, diciendo: “¿Por qué comen y beben ustedes con los recaudadores de impuestos y con los pecadores?”

But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

31 J esús les respondió: “Los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, sino los que están enfermos.

And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.

32 N o he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores al arrepentimiento.” Pregunta sobre el Ayuno

I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

33 E llos dijeron a Jesús: “Los discípulos de Juan ayunan con frecuencia y hacen oraciones; los de los Fariseos también hacen lo mismo, pero los Tuyos comen y beben.”

And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?

34 E ntonces Jesús les dijo: “¿Acaso pueden hacer que los acompañantes del novio ayunen mientras el novio está con ellos?

And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

35 P ero vendrán días cuando el novio les será quitado, entonces ayunarán en aquellos días.”

But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

36 T ambién les dijo una parábola: “Nadie corta un pedazo de un vestido nuevo y lo pone en un vestido viejo; porque entonces romperá el nuevo, y el pedazo del nuevo no armonizará con el viejo.

And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.

37 Y nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos, porque entonces el vino nuevo romperá los odres y se derramará, y los odres se perderán,

And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

38 s ino que el vino nuevo debe echarse en odres nuevos.

But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

39 Y nadie, después de beber vino añejo, desea vino nuevo, porque dice: ‘El añejo es mejor.’”

No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.
