1 A braham volvió a tomar mujer, y su nombre era Cetura.

Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.

2 E lla le dio hijos: Zimram, Jocsán, Medán, Madián, Isbac y Súa.

And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

3 J ocsán fue el padre de Seba y de Dedán. Los hijos de Dedán fueron Asurim, Letusim y Leumim.

And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

4 L os hijos de Madián fueron Efa, Efer, Hanoc, Abida y Elda. Todos estos fueron los hijos de Cetura.

And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.

5 A braham dio a Isaac todo lo que poseía.

And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.

6 A los hijos de sus concubinas Abraham les dio regalos, viviendo aún él, y los envió lejos de su hijo Isaac hacia el este, a la tierra del oriente. Muerte y Sepultura de Abraham

But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.

7 E stos fueron los años de la vida de Abraham: 175 años.

And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.

8 A braham murió en buena vejez, anciano y lleno de días, y fue reunido a su pueblo.

Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

9 S us hijos Isaac e Ismael lo sepultaron en la cueva de Macpela, en el campo de Efrón, hijo de Zohar, el Hitita, que está frente a Mamre,

And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;

10 e l campo que Abraham compró a los hijos de Het. Allí fue sepultado Abraham con Sara su mujer.

the field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

11 D espués de la muerte de Abraham, Dios bendijo a su hijo Isaac. Y habitó Isaac junto a Beer Lajai Roi. Descendientes de Ismael

And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi.

12 E stas son las generaciones de Ismael, hijo de Abraham, el que Agar la Egipcia, sierva de Sara, le dio a Abraham.

Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham:

13 E stos son los nombres de los hijos de Ismael, nombrados por el orden de su nacimiento: el primogénito de Ismael, Nebaiot, después, Cedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

and these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

14 M isma, Duma, Massa,

and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

15 H adar, Tema, Jetur, Nafis y Cedema.

 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:

16 E stos fueron los hijos de Ismael, y éstos sus nombres, por sus aldeas y por sus campamentos: doce príncipes según sus tribus.

these are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.

17 E stos fueron los años de la vida de Ismael: 137 años. Murió, y fue reunido a su pueblo.

And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.

18 S us descendientes habitaron desde Havila hasta Shur, que está enfrente de Egipto, según se va hacia Asiria. Se establecieron allí frente a todos sus parientes. Nacimiento de Esaú y de Jacob

And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.

19 E stas son las generaciones de Isaac, hijo de Abraham: Abraham fue el padre de Isaac.

And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:

20 T enía Isaac cuarenta años cuando tomó por mujer a Rebeca, hija de Betuel, el Arameo de Padán Aram, hermana de Labán el Arameo.

and Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.

21 I saac oró al Señor en favor de su mujer, porque ella era estéril; y el Señor lo escuchó, y Rebeca su mujer concibió.

And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

22 L os hijos luchaban dentro de ella y ella dijo: “Si esto es así, ¿para qué vivo yo?” Y fue a consultar al Señor.

And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the Lord.

23 Y el Señor le dijo: “Dos naciones hay en tu seno, Y dos pueblos se dividirán desde tus entrañas; Un pueblo será más fuerte que el otro, Y el mayor servirá al menor.”

And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

24 C uando se cumplieron los días de dar a luz, había mellizos en su seno.

And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

25 E l primero salió rojizo, todo cubierto de vello, y lo llamaron Esaú.

And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

26 Y después salió su hermano, con su mano asida al talón de Esaú, y lo llamaron Jacob. Isaac tenía sesenta años cuando Rebeca dio a luz a los mellizos. Esaú Vende su Primogenitura

And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.

27 L os niños crecieron, y Esaú llegó a ser diestro cazador, hombre del campo. Pero Jacob era hombre pacífico, que habitaba en tiendas.

And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.

28 I saac amaba a Esaú porque le gustaba lo que cazaba, pero Rebeca amaba a Jacob.

And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

29 U n día, cuando Jacob había preparado un potaje, Esaú vino agotado del campo.

And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:

30 E ntonces Esaú dijo a Jacob: “Te ruego que me des a comer un poco de ese guisado rojo, pues estoy agotado.” Por eso lo llamaron Edom.

and Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

31 “ Véndeme primero tu primogenitura,” le contestó Jacob.

And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

32 “ Mira, yo estoy a punto de morir,” le dijo Esaú; “¿de qué me sirve, pues, la primogenitura?”

And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

33 “ Júramelo primero,” replicó Jacob. Esaú se lo juró, y vendió su primogenitura a Jacob.”

And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

34 E ntonces Jacob dio a Esaú pan y guisado de lentejas. El comió y bebió, se levantó y se fue. Así despreció Esaú la primogenitura.

Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
