1 A nd Abraham addeth and taketh a wife, and her name Keturah;
Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.
2 a nd she beareth to him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
3 A nd Jokshan hath begotten Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim;
And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
4 a nd the sons of Midian Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah: all these sons of Keturah.
And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
5 A nd Abraham giveth all that he hath to Isaac;
And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
6 a nd to the sons of the concubines whom Abraham hath, Abraham hath given gifts, and sendeth them away from Isaac his son (in his being yet alive) eastward, unto the east country.
But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.
7 A nd these the days of the years of the life of Abraham, which he lived, a hundred and seventy and five years;
And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.
8 a nd Abraham expireth, and dieth in a good old age, aged and satisfied, and is gathered unto his people.
Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
9 A nd Isaac and Ishmael his sons bury him at the cave of Machpelah, at the field of Ephron, son of Zoar the Hittite, which before Mamre --
And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;
10 t he field which Abraham bought from the sons of Heth -- there hath Abraham been buried, and Sarah his wife.
the field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
11 A nd it cometh to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blesseth Isaac his son; and Isaac dwelleth by the Well of the Living One, my Beholder.
And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi.
12 A nd these births of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, hath borne to Abraham;
Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham:
13 a nd these the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their births: first-born of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

14 a nd Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

17 A nd these the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty and seven years; and he expireth, and dieth, and is gathered unto his people;
And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.
18 a nd they tabernacle from Havilah unto Shur, which before Egypt, in going towards Asshur; in the presence of all his brethren hath he fallen.
And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.
19 A nd these births of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham hath begotten Isaac;
And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:
20 a nd Isaac is a son of forty years in his taking Rebekah, daughter of Bethuel the Aramaean, from Padan-Aram, sister of Laban the Aramaean, to him for a wife.
and Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
21 A nd Isaac maketh entreaty to Jehovah before his wife, for she barren: and Jehovah is entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceiveth,
And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
22 a nd the children struggle together within her, and she saith, `If right -- why I thus?' and she goeth to seek Jehovah.
And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the Lord.
23 A nd Jehovah saith to her, `Two nations in thy womb, and two peoples from thy bowels are parted; and the people than the people is stronger; and the elder doth serve the younger.'
And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
24 A nd her days to bear are fulfilled, and lo, twins in her womb;
And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
25 a nd the first cometh out all red as a hairy robe, and they call his name Esau;
And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
26 a nd afterwards hath his brother come out, and his hand is taking hold on Esau's heel, and one calleth his name Jacob; and Isaac a son of sixty years in her bearing them.
And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.
27 A nd the youths grew, and Esau is a man acquainted hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob a plain man, inhabiting tents;
And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
28 a nd Isaac loveth Esau, for hunting in his mouth; and Rebekah is loving Jacob.
And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29 A nd Jacob boileth pottage, and Esau cometh in from the field, and he weary;
And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
30 a nd Esau saith unto Jacob, `Let me eat, I pray thee, some of this red red thing, for I weary;' therefore hath called his name Edom;
and Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
31 a nd Jacob saith, `Sell to-day thy birthright to me.'
And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
32 A nd Esau saith, `Lo, I am going to die, and what is this to me -- birthright?'
And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
33 a nd Jacob saith, `Swear to me to-day:' and he sweareth to him, and selleth his birthright to Jacob;
And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
34 a nd Jacob hath given to Esau bread and pottage of lentiles, and he eateth, and drinketh, and riseth, and goeth; and Esau despiseth the birthright.
Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
