1 A nd when they come nigh to Jerusalem, to Bethphage, and Bethany, unto the mount of the Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

2 a nd saith to them, `Go away to the village that is over-against you, and immediately, entering into it, ye shall find a colt tied, on which no one of men hath sat, having loosed it, bring:

and saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.

3 a nd if any one may say to you, Why do ye this? say ye that the lord hath need of it, and immediately he will send it hither.'

And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

4 A nd they went away, and found the colt tied at the door without, by the two ways, and they loose it,

And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.

5 a nd certain of those standing there said to them, `What do ye -- loosing the colt?'

And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?

6 a nd they said to them as Jesus commanded, and they suffered them.

And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.

7 A nd they brought the colt unto Jesus, and did cast upon it their garments, and he sat upon it,

And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.

8 a nd many did spread their garments in the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees, and were strewing in the way.

And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

9 A nd those going before and those following were crying out, saying, `Hosanna! blessed he who is coming in the name of the Lord;

And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

10 b lessed is the coming reign, in the name of the Lord, of our father David; Hosanna in the highest.'

Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.

11 A nd Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple, and having looked round on all things, it being now evening, he went forth to Bethany with the twelve.

And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.

12 A nd on the morrow, they having come forth from Bethany, he hungered,

And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

13 a nd having seen a fig-tree afar off having leaves, he came, if perhaps he shall find anything in it, and having come to it, he found nothing except leaves, for it was not a time of figs,

and seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

14 a nd Jesus answering said to it, `No more from thee -- to the age -- may any eat fruit;' and his disciples were hearing.

And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

15 A nd they come to Jerusalem, and Jesus having gone into the temple, began to cast forth those selling and buying in the temple, and the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those selling the doves, he overthrew,

And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;

16 a nd he did not suffer that any might bear a vessel through the temple,

and would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

17 a nd he was teaching, saying to them, `Hath it not been written -- My house a house of prayer shall be called for all the nations, and ye did make it a den of robbers?'

And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

18 A nd the scribes and the chief priests heard, and they were seeking how they shall destroy him, for they were afraid of him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching;

And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

19 a nd when evening came, he was going forth without the city.

And when even was come, he went out of the city.

20 A nd in the morning, passing by, they saw the fig-tree having been dried up from the roots,

And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

21 a nd Peter having remembered saith to him, `Rabbi, lo, the fig-tree that thou didst curse is dried up.'

And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

22 A nd Jesus answering saith to them, `Have faith of God;

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 f or verily I say to you, that whoever may say to this mount, Be taken up, and be cast into the sea, and may not doubt in his heart, but may believe that the things that he saith do come to pass, it shall be to him whatever he may say.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 B ecause of this I say to you, all whatever -- praying -- ye do ask, believe that ye receive, and it shall be to you.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25 ` And whenever ye may stand praying, forgive, if ye have anything against any one, that your Father also who is in the heavens may forgive you your trespasses;

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 a nd, if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in the heavens forgive your trespasses.'

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

27 A nd they come again to Jerusalem, and in the temple, as he is walking, there come unto him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,

And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,

28 a nd they say to him, `By what authority dost thou these things? and who gave thee this authority that these things thou mayest do?'

and say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?

29 A nd Jesus answering said to them, `I will question you -- I also -- one word; and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things;

And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

30 t he baptism of John -- from heaven was it? or from men? answer me.'

The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

31 A nd they were reasoning with themselves, saying, `If we may say, From heaven, he will say, Wherefore, then, did ye not believe him?

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

32 B ut if we may say, From men,' -- they were fearing the people, for all were holding John that he was indeed a prophet;

But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.

33 a nd answering they say to Jesus, `We have not known;' and Jesus answering saith to them, `Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.'

And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
