1 “ Muchas veces me han perseguido desde mi juventud,” Que lo diga ahora Israel.

Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up, Let Israel now say,

2 “ Muchas veces me han perseguido desde mi juventud, Pero no han prevalecido contra mí.

Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up: Yet they have not prevailed against me.

3 S obre mis espaldas araron los aradores; Alargaron sus surcos.”

The plowers plowed upon my back; They made long their furrows.

4 E l Señor es justo; Ha cortado las ataduras de los impíos.

Jehovah is righteous: He hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

5 S ean avergonzados y vueltos atrás Todos los que odian a Sion.

Let them be put to shame and turned backward, All they that hate Zion.

6 Q ue sean como la hierba en los techos, Que se seca antes de crecer;

Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, Which withereth before it groweth up;

7 C on la cual el segador no llena su mano, Ni el recogedor de gavillas sus brazos.

Wherewith the reaper filleth not his hand, Nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

8 Q ue no digan los que pasan: “La bendición del Señor sea sobre ustedes; Los bendecimos en el nombre del Señor.”

Neither do they that go by say, The blessing of Jehovah be upon you; We bless you in the name of Jehovah.
