1 Y sucedió que en el año 480 después que los Israelitas salieron de la tierra de Egipto, en el cuarto año del reinado de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Zif, que es el segundo mes, comenzó Salomón a edificar la casa (el templo) del Señor.

And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Jehovah.

2 L a casa que el rey Salomón edificó para el Señor tenía 24 metros (60 codos) de largo, 9 metros de ancho y 13. 5 metros de alto.

And the house which king Solomon built for Jehovah, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.

3 Y el pórtico delante de la nave del templo tenía 9 metros de largo, conforme al ancho de la casa, y su ancho al frente de la casa era de 4. 5 metros.

And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

4 T ambién para la casa hizo ventanas con celosías.

And for the house he made windows of fixed lattice-work.

5 J unto a la pared de la casa edificó pisos alrededor de las paredes de la casa, tanto de la nave como del santuario interior. También hizo cámaras laterales en derredor.

And against the wall of the house he built stories round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle; and he made side-chambers round about.

6 E l piso inferior tenía 2. 25 metros de ancho, el del medio tenía 2. 7 metros de ancho, y el tercero tenía 3. 2 metros de ancho; porque por fuera hizo rebajos en la pared de la casa por todo alrededor para no empotrar las vigas en las paredes de la casa.

The nethermost story was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house round about, that the beams should not have hold in the walls of the house.

7 L a casa, mientras se edificaba, se construía de piedras preparadas en la cantera; y no se oyó ni martillo ni hacha ni ningún instrumento de hierro en la casa mientras la construían.

And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready at the quarry; and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

8 L a entrada a la cámara lateral inferior estaba al lado derecho de la casa; y se subía por una escalera de caracol al piso del medio, y del medio al tercero.

The door for the middle side-chambers was in the right side of the house: and they went up by winding stairs into the middle story, and out of the middle into the third.

9 E dificó, pues, la casa y la terminó; y cubrió la casa con vigas y tablas de cedro.

So he built the house, and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.

10 T ambién edificó pisos junto a toda la casa, cada uno de 2. 25 metros de alto, y estaban asegurados a la casa con vigas de cedro.

And he built the stories against all the house, each five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

11 Y la palabra del Señor vino a Salomón, diciéndole:

And the word of Jehovah came to Solomon, saying,

12 “ En cuanto a esta casa que estás edificando, si tú andas en Mis estatutos, cumples Mis ordenanzas y guardas todos Mis mandamientos andando en ellos, Yo cumpliré Mi palabra contigo, la cual hablé a David tu padre.

Concerning this house which thou art building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute mine ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I establish my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father.

13 H abitaré en medio de los Israelitas, y no abandonaré a Mi pueblo Israel.” El Lugar Santísimo

And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

14 C uando Salomón terminó de edificar la casa,

So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

15 c onstruyó las paredes de la casa por dentro con tablas de cedro. Desde el suelo de la casa hasta el techo recubrió las paredes interiores con madera. También recubrió el piso de la casa con tablas de ciprés.

And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar: from the floor of the house unto the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood; and he covered the floor of the house with boards of fir.

16 E dificó los 9 metros del fondo de la casa con tablas de cedro desde el suelo hasta el techo. Así le edificó el santuario interior, el Lugar Santísimo.

And he built twenty cubits on the hinder part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor unto the walls of the ceiling: he built them for it within, for an oracle, even for the most holy place.

17 L a casa, es decir, la nave delante del santuario interior tenía 18 metros de largo.

And the house, that is, the temple before the oracle, was forty cubits long.

18 Y por dentro la casa estaba revestida de cedro tallado en forma de calabazas y flores abiertas. Todo era de cedro, no se veía la piedra.

And there was cedar on the house within, carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

19 E ntonces preparó dentro de la casa el santuario interior, para colocar allí el arca del pacto del Señor.

And he prepared an oracle in the midst of the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.

20 E l santuario interior tenía 9 metros de largo, 9 metros de ancho y 9 metros de alto, y lo revistió de oro puro. El altar lo recubrió de cedro.

And within the oracle was a space of twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof; and he overlaid it with pure gold: and he covered the altar with cedar.

21 S alomón revistió el interior de la casa de oro puro. Puso cadenas de oro a lo largo del frente del santuario interior, y lo revistió de oro.

So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he drew chains of gold across before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.

22 R evistió de oro toda la casa, hasta que toda la casa estuvo terminada. También revistió de oro todo el altar que estaba junto al santuario interior.

And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until all the house was finished: also the whole altar that belonged to the oracle he overlaid with gold.

23 T ambién en el santuario interior hizo dos querubines de madera de olivo, cada uno de 4. 5 metros de alto.

And in the oracle he made two cherubim of olive-wood, each ten cubits high.

24 U n ala del querubín tenía 2. 25 metros y la otra ala del querubín 2. 25 metros. Desde la punta de una de sus alas hasta la punta de la otra de sus alas había 4. 5 metros.

And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.

25 E l otro querubín también medía 4. 5 metros; ambos querubines tenían la misma medida y la misma forma.

And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubim were of one measure and one form.

26 L a altura de uno de los querubines era de 4. 5 metros, y asimismo la del otro querubín.

The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.

27 C olocó los querubines en medio de la casa interior; las alas de los querubines se extendían de modo que el ala del uno tocaba una pared y el ala del otro querubín tocaba la otra pared. Sus otras dos alas se tocaban ala con ala en el centro de la casa.

And he set the cherubim within the inner house; and the wings of the cherubim were stretched forth, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

28 T ambién revistió de oro los querubines.

And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.

29 L uego esculpió todas las paredes de la casa en derredor con grabados de figuras de querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas, tanto el santuario interior como el exterior.

And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubim and palm-trees and open flowers, within and without.

30 R evistió de oro el piso de la casa, del santuario interior y el exterior.

And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

31 P ara la entrada del santuario interior, Salomón hizo puertas de madera de olivo, el dintel y postes pentagonales.

And for the entrance of the oracle he made doors of olive-wood: the lintel and door-posts were a fifth part of the wall.

32 L as dos puertas eran de madera de olivo, y talló en ellas figuras de querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas, y las revistió de oro; cubrió también de oro los querubines y las palmeras.

So he made two doors of olive-wood; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubim and palm-trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he spread the gold upon the cherubim, and upon the palm-trees.

33 A demás para la entrada de la nave hizo postes cuadrangulares de madera de olivo,

So also made he for the entrance of the temple door-posts of olive-wood, out of a fourth part of the wall;

34 y dos puertas de madera de ciprés; las dos hojas de una puerta eran giratorias, y las dos hojas de la otra puerta también eran giratorias.

and two doors of fir-wood: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

35 T alló en ellas querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas, y las revistió de oro bien ajustado a la talladura.

And he carved thereon cherubim and palm-trees and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold fitted upon the graven work.

36 E dificó el atrio interior con tres hileras de piedra labrada y una hilera de vigas de cedro.

And he built the inner court with three courses of hewn stone, and a course of cedar beams.

37 E n el cuarto año, en el mes de Zif, se echaron los cimientos de la casa del Señor,

In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of Jehovah laid, in the month Ziv.

38 y en el año undécimo, en el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, la casa fue acabada en todas sus partes y conforme a todos sus planos. La edificó, pues, en siete años.

And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
