1 I srael es un viñedo frondoso, Dando fruto para sí mismo. Según la abundancia de su fruto, Así multiplicaba los altares; Cuanto más rica era su tierra, Más hermosos hacían sus pilares sagrados.

Israel is a luxuriant vine, that putteth forth his fruit: according to the abundance of his fruit he hath multiplied his altars; according to the goodness of their land they have made goodly pillars.

2 S u corazón es infiel; Ahora serán hallados culpables; El Señor derribará sus altares Y destruirá sus pilares sagrados.

Their heart is divided; now shall they be found guilty: he will smite their altars, he will destroy their pillars.

3 C iertamente ahora dirán: “No tenemos rey, Porque no hemos temido al Señor. Y el rey, ¿qué haría por nosotros ?”

Surely now shall they say, We have no king; for we fear not Jehovah; and the king, what can he do for us?

4 H ablan sólo palabras, Hacen pactos con juramentos vanos, Y el juicio brotará como hierbas venenosas en los surcos del campo.

They speak vain words, swearing falsely in making covenants: therefore judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.

5 P or el becerro de Bet Avén Temerán los habitantes de Samaria. En verdad, por él hará duelo su pueblo, Y sus sacerdotes idólatras se lamentarán a causa de él, Porque de él se ha alejado su gloria.

The inhabitants of Samaria shall be in terror for the calves of Beth-aven; for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced over it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.

6 T ambién el becerro será llevado a Asiria Como tributo al rey Jareb (al gran rey); Efraín se cubrirá de vergüenza, E Israel se avergonzará de su consejo.

It also shall be carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

7 S amaria será destruida con su rey, Como astilla sobre la superficie del agua.

As for Samaria, her king is cut off, as foam upon the water.

8 T ambién serán destruidos los lugares altos de Avén, el pecado de Israel; Espinos y cardos crecerán sobre sus altares. Entonces dirán a los montes: “¡Cúbrannos!”, y a los collados: “¡Caigan sobre nosotros!”

The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.

9 D esde los días de Guibeá has pecado, oh Israel; ¡Allí se han quedado! ¿No los alcanzará en Guibeá la batalla contra los hijos de la iniquidad?

O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood; the battle against the children of iniquity doth not overtake them in Gibeah.

10 C uando Yo lo desee, los castigaré; Y se juntarán pueblos contra ellos Cuando sean castigados por su doble iniquidad.

When it is my desire, I will chastise them; and the peoples shall be gathered against them, when they are bound to their two transgressions.

11 E fraín es una novilla domesticada que le gusta trillar, Pero Yo pasaré un yugo sobre su hermoso cuello; Unciré a Efraín, Arará Judá, rastrillará Jacob por sí mismo.

And Ephraim is a heifer that is taught, that loveth to tread out the grain; but I have passed over upon her fair neck: I will set a rider on Ephraim; Judah shall plow, Jacob shall break his clods.

12 S iembren para ustedes según la justicia, Sieguen conforme a la misericordia (lealtad); Rompan la tierra para sembrar, Porque es tiempo de buscar al Señor Hasta que venga a enseñarles justicia.

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap according to kindness; break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek Jehovah, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

13 U stedes han arado iniquidad, han segado injusticia, Han comido fruto de mentira. Porque has confiado en tu camino, en la multitud de tus guerreros,

Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies; for thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.

14 S e levantará un tumulto entre tu pueblo, Y todas tus fortalezas serán destruidas, Como Salmán destruyó a Bet Arbel el día de la batalla, Cuando las madres fueron despedazadas con sus hijos.

Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be destroyed, as Shalman destroyed Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces with her children.

15 A sí les será hecho en Betel (Casa de Dios) a causa de su gran iniquidad. Al amanecer, el rey de Israel será totalmente destruido.

So shall Beth-el do unto you because of your great wickedness: at daybreak shall the king of Israel be utterly cut off.
