1 E ntonces el Señor habló a Moisés en el Monte Sinaí:

And Jehovah spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,

2 “ Habla a los Israelitas, y diles: ‘Cuando entren a la tierra que Yo les daré, la tierra guardará reposo para el Señor.

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto Jehovah.

3 S eis años sembrarás la tierra, seis años podarás tu viña y recogerás sus frutos,

Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruits thereof;

4 p ero el séptimo año la tierra tendrá completo descanso, un reposo para el Señor; no sembrarás tu campo ni podarás tu viña.

but in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath unto Jehovah: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

5 L o que nazca espontáneamente después de tu cosecha no lo segarás, y no recogerás las uvas de los sarmientos de tu viñedo; la tierra tendrá un año de reposo.

That which groweth of itself of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, and the grapes of thy undressed vine thou shalt not gather: it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.

6 Y el fruto del reposo de la tierra les servirá de alimento: a ti, a tus siervos, a tus siervas, a tu jornalero y al extranjero, a los que residen contigo.

And the sabbath of the land shall be for food for you; for thee, and for thy servant and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant and for thy stranger, who sojourn with thee.

7 T ambién a tu ganado y a los animales que están en tu tierra, todas sus cosechas les servirán de alimento.

And for thy cattle, and for the beasts that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be for food.

8 C ontarás también siete semanas de años para ti, siete veces siete años, para que tengas el tiempo de siete semanas de años, es decir, cuarenta y nueve años.

And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and there shall be unto thee the days of seven sabbaths of years, even forty and nine years.

9 E ntonces tocarás fuertemente el cuerno de carnero el décimo día del séptimo mes; en el día de la expiación ustedes tocarán el cuerno por toda la tierra.

Then shalt thou send abroad the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month; in the day of atonement shall ye send abroad the trumpet throughout all your land.

10 A sí consagrarán el quincuagésimo año y proclamarán libertad en la tierra para todos sus habitantes. Será de jubileo para ustedes, y cada uno de ustedes volverá a su posesión, y cada uno de ustedes volverá a su familia.

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

11 T endrán el quincuagésimo año como año de jubileo: no sembrarán, ni segarán lo que nazca espontáneamente, ni vendimiarán sus viñas que estén sin podar.

A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of the undressed vines.

12 P orque es jubileo, les será santo. De lo que produzca el campo, comerán.

For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

13 E n este año de jubileo cada uno de ustedes volverá a su propia posesión.

In this year of jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession.

14 A simismo, si venden algo a su prójimo, o compran algo de la mano de su prójimo, no se hagan mal uno a otro.

And if thou sell aught unto thy neighbor, or buy of thy neighbor's hand, ye shall not wrong one another.

15 C onforme al número de años después del jubileo, comprarás de tu prójimo, y él te venderá conforme al número de años de cosecha.

According to the number of years after the jubilee thou shalt buy of thy neighbor, and according unto the number of years of the crops he shall sell unto thee.

16 S i son muchos los años, aumentarás su precio, y si son pocos los años, disminuirás su precio; porque es un número de cosechas lo que te está vendiendo.

According to the multitude of the years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of the years thou shalt diminish the price of it; for the number of the crops doth he sell unto thee.

17 A sí que no se hagan mal uno a otro, sino teman (reverencien) a su Dios; porque Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

And ye shall not wrong one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am Jehovah your God.

18 C umplirán, pues, Mis estatutos y guardarán Mis leyes, para ejecutarlos, para que habiten seguros en la tierra.

Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep mine ordinances and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.

19 E ntonces la tierra dará su fruto, comerán hasta que se sacien y habitarán en ella con seguridad.

And the land shall yield its fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

20 P ero si ustedes dicen: “¿Qué vamos a comer el séptimo año si no sembramos ni recogemos nuestras cosechas ?”

And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase;

21 Y o entonces les enviaré Mi bendición en el sexto año, de modo que producirá fruto para tres años.

then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for the three years.

22 C uando estén sembrando en el octavo año, todavía podrán comer cosas añejas de la cosecha, comiendo de lo añejo hasta el noveno año cuando venga la cosecha.

And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat of the fruits, the old store; until the ninth year, until its fruits come in, ye shall eat the old store.

23 A demás, la tierra no se venderá en forma permanente, pues la tierra es Mía; porque ustedes son sólo extranjeros y peregrinos para conmigo.

And the land shall not be sold in perpetuity; for the land is mine: for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.

24 A sí que en toda tierra que ustedes tengan en propiedad, proveerán para que la tierra pueda ser redimida.

And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.

25 S i uno de tus hermanos llega a ser tan pobre que tiene que vender parte de su posesión, su pariente más cercano vendrá y redimirá lo que su hermano haya vendido.

If thy brother be waxed poor, and sell some of his possession, then shall his kinsman that is next unto him come, and shall redeem that which his brother hath sold.

26 Y en caso de que un hombre no tenga redentor, pero consiga los medios suficientes para su redención,

And if a man have no one to redeem it, and he be waxed rich and find sufficient to redeem it;

27 e ntonces contará los años desde la venta y devolverá el resto al hombre a quien había vendido la tierra, y así volverá a su posesión.

then let him reckon the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return unto his possession.

28 P ero si no ha hallado medios suficientes para recobrarla por sí mismo, entonces lo que ha vendido permanecerá en manos del comprador hasta el año de jubileo; pero en el jubileo saldrá de su poder, y el vendedor volverá a su posesión.

But if he be not able to get it back for himself, then that which he hath sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubilee: and in the jubilee it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.

29 S i un hombre vende una casa de vivienda en una ciudad amurallada, su derecho a redimirla es válido hasta que se cumpla un año de su venta; su derecho de redención dura todo un año.

And if a man sell a dwelling-house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; for a full year shall he have the right of redemption.

30 P ero si no se la redimen en el espacio de un año, la casa que está en la ciudad amurallada pasará para siempre a su comprador por todas sus generaciones; no saldrá de su poder en el jubileo.

And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be made sure in perpetuity to him that bought it, throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubilee.

31 L as casas de las aldeas que no tienen muro alrededor, serán consideradas como campo abierto; tienen derechos de redención, y son recuperadas en el jubileo.

But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be reckoned with the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubilee.

32 E n cuanto a las ciudades de los Levitas, ellos tienen un derecho permanente de redención para las casas de las ciudades que son propiedad suya.

Nevertheless the cities of the Levites, the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.

33 A sí que lo que pertenece a los Levitas se puede redimir, y una casa de su propiedad vendida en la ciudad es recuperada en el jubileo, porque las casas de las ciudades de los Levitas son propiedad suya entre los Israelitas.

And if one of the Levites redeem, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the jubilee; for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.

34 P ero las tierras de pasto de sus ciudades no se venderán porque son propiedad suya para siempre.

But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

35 E n caso de que un hermano tuyo empobrezca y sus medios para contigo decaigan, tú lo sustentarás como a un extranjero o peregrino, para que viva contigo.

And if thy brother be waxed poor, and his hand fail with thee; then thou shalt uphold him: as a stranger and a sojourner shall he live with thee.

36 N o tomes interés y usura de él, pero teme a tu Dios, para que tu hermano viva contigo.

Take thou no interest of him or increase, but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.

37 N o le darás tu dinero a interés, ni tus víveres con ganancia.

Thou shalt not give him thy money upon interest, nor give him thy victuals for increase.

38 Y o soy el Señor su Dios, que los saqué de la tierra de Egipto para darles la tierra de Canaán y para ser su Dios.

I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.

39 S i un hermano tuyo llega a ser tan pobre para contigo que se vende a ti, no lo someterás a trabajo de esclavo.

And if thy brother be waxed poor with thee, and sell himself unto thee; thou shalt not make him to serve as a bond-servant.

40 E stará contigo como jornalero, como si fuera un peregrino; él servirá contigo hasta el año de jubileo.

As a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee; he shall serve with thee unto the year of jubilee:

41 E ntonces saldrá libre de ti, él y sus hijos con él, y volverá a su familia, para que pueda regresar a la propiedad de sus padres.

then shall he go out from thee, he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

42 P orque ellos son Mis siervos, los cuales saqué de la tierra de Egipto; no serán vendidos en venta de esclavos.

For they are my servants, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.

43 N o te enseñorearás de él con severidad, más bien, teme a tu Dios.

Thou shalt not rule over him with rigor, but shalt fear thy God.

44 E n cuanto a los esclavos y esclavas que puedes tener de las naciones paganas que los rodean, de ellos podrán adquirir esclavos y esclavas.

And as for thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, whom thou shalt have; of the nations that are round about you, of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

45 T ambién podrán adquirir los de los hijos de los extranjeros que residen con ustedes, y de sus familias que están con ustedes, que hayan sido engendradas en su tierra; éstos también pueden ser posesión de ustedes.

Moreover of the children of the strangers that sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they have begotten in your land: and they shall be your possession.

46 A un podrán dejarlos en herencia a sus hijos después de ustedes, como posesión; podrán servirse de ellos como esclavos para siempre. Pero en cuanto a sus hermanos, los Israelitas, no se enseñorearán unos de otros con severidad.

And ye shall make them an inheritance for your children after you, to hold for a possession; of them shall ye take your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel ye shall not rule, one over another, with rigor.

47 S i aumentan los bienes del extranjero o del peregrino que mora contigo, y si empobrece tu hermano que está con él, y se vende al extranjero que mora contigo, o se vende a los descendientes de la familia de un extranjero,

And if a stranger or sojourner with thee be waxed rich, and thy brother be waxed poor beside him, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner with thee, or to the stock of the stranger's family;

48 é l tendrá derecho de redención después de ser vendido; uno de sus hermanos podrá redimirlo;

after that he is sold he may be redeemed: one of his brethren may redeem him;

49 o su tío o el hijo de su tío podrán redimirlo; o un pariente cercano de su familia podrá redimirlo; o si prospera, él mismo podrá redimirse.

or his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be waxed rich, he may redeem himself.

50 E ntonces él, con su comprador, calculará desde el año en que se vendió a él hasta el año de jubileo, y el precio de su venta corresponderá al número de años. Los días que estará con él serán como los días de un jornalero.

And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he sold himself to him unto the year of jubilee: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years; according to the time of a hired servant shall he be with him.

51 S i aún le quedan muchos años, devolverá parte de su precio de compra en proporción a ellos para su propia redención;

If there be yet many years, according unto them he shall give back the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.

52 y si quedan pocos años hasta el año de jubileo, así los calculará con él. En proporción a los años devolverá la cantidad de su redención.

And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubilee, then he shall reckon with him; according unto his years shall he give back the price of his redemption.

53 L o tratará como quien trabaja a jornal año por año; no se enseñoreará de él con severidad delante de sus ojos.

As a servant hired year by year shall he be with him: he shall not rule with rigor over him in thy sight.

54 A unque no sea redimido por estos medios, todavía saldrá libre en el año de jubileo, él y sus hijos con él.

And if he be not redeemed by these means, then he shall go out in the year of jubilee, he, and his children with him.

55 P ues los Israelitas son Mis siervos; siervos Míos son, a quienes saqué de la tierra de Egipto. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.
