1 E ntonces los Fariseos y los Saduceos se acercaron, y poniendo a prueba a Jesús, Le pidieron que les mostrara una señal (un milagro) del cielo.

And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and trying him asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

2 P ero El les dijo: “ Al caer la tarde ustedes dicen: ‘ Hará buen tiempo, porque el cielo está rojizo.’

But he answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the heaven is red.

3 Y por la mañana: ‘Hoy habrá tempestad, porque el cielo está rojizo y amenazador.’ ¿Saben ustedes discernir el aspecto del cielo, pero no pueden discernir las señales de los tiempos ?

And in the morning, It will be foul weather to-day: for the heaven is red and lowering. Ye know how to discern the face of the heaven; but ye cannot discern the signs of the times.

4 U na generación perversa y adúltera busca una señal (un milagro), y no se le dará señal, sino la señal de Jonás.” Y dejándolos, se fue. La Levadura de los Fariseos y Saduceos

An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of Jonah. And he left them, and departed.

5 L os discípulos, al pasar al otro lado, se habían olvidado de tomar panes.

And the disciples came to the other side and forgot to take bread.

6 E ntonces Jesús les dijo: “Estén atentos y cuídense de la levadura de los Fariseos y Saduceos.”

And Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

7 Y ellos discutían entre sí, diciendo: “ Lo dice porque no tomamos panes.”

And they reasoned among themselves, saying, We took no bread.

8 P ero Jesús, dándose cuenta, dijo: “Hombres de poca fe, ¿por qué discuten entre ustedes que no tienen pan?

And Jesus perceiving it said, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have no bread?

9 ¿ Todavía no entienden ni recuerdan los cinco panes para los cinco mil, y cuántas cestas recogieron ?

Do ye not yet perceive, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

10 ¿ Ni los siete panes para los cuatro mil, y cuántas canastas recogieron ?

Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

11 ¿ Cómo es que no entienden que no les hablé de los panes? Pero cuídense de la levadura de los Fariseos y Saduceos.”

How is it that ye do not perceive that I spake not to you concerning bread? But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

12 E ntonces entendieron que El no les había dicho que se cuidaran de la levadura de los panes, sino de la enseñanza de los Fariseos y Saduceos. La Confesión de Pedro

Then understood they that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

13 C uando Jesús llegó a la región de Cesarea de Filipo, preguntó a Sus discípulos: “¿Quién dicen los hombres que es el Hijo del Hombre ?”

Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of man is?

14 Y ellos respondieron: “Unos, Juan el Bautista; y otros, Elías; pero otros, Jeremías o alguno de los profetas.”

And they said, Some say John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

15 “ Y ustedes, ¿quién dicen que soy Yo?” les preguntó Jesús.

He saith unto them, But who say ye that I am?

16 S imón Pedro respondió: “Tú eres el Cristo (el Mesías), el Hijo del Dios viviente.”

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 E ntonces Jesús le dijo: “Bienaventurado eres, Simón, hijo de Jonás, porque esto no te lo reveló carne ni sangre, sino Mi Padre que está en los cielos.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jonah: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven.

18 Y o también te digo que tú eres Pedro, y sobre esta roca edificaré Mi iglesia; y las Puertas del Hades (los poderes de la muerte) no prevalecerán contra ella.

And I also say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

19 Y o te daré las llaves del reino de los cielos; y lo que ates en la tierra, será atado en los cielos; y lo que desates en la tierra, será desatado en los cielos.”

I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

20 E ntonces ordenó a los discípulos que a nadie dijeran que El era el Cristo (el Mesías). Jesús Anuncia Su Muerte y Resurrección

Then charged he the disciples that they should tell no man that he was the Christ.

21 D esde entonces Jesucristo comenzó a declarar a Sus discípulos que debía ir a Jerusalén y sufrir muchas cosas de parte de los ancianos, de los principales sacerdotes y de los escribas, y ser muerto, y resucitar al tercer día.

From that time began Jesus to show unto his disciples, that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.

22 T omando aparte a Jesús, Pedro Lo reprendió: “¡No lo permita Dios, Señor! Eso nunca Te acontecerá.”

And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall never be unto thee.

23 P ero volviéndose El, dijo a Pedro: “¡Quítate de delante de Mí, Satanás! Me eres piedra de tropiezo; porque no estás pensando en las cosas de Dios, sino en las de los hombres.” Condiciones para Seguir a Jesús

But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art a stumbling-block unto me: for thou mindest not the things of God, but the things of men.

24 E ntonces Jesús dijo a Sus discípulos: “Si alguien quiere venir en pos de Mí, niéguese a sí mismo, tome su cruz y que Me siga.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

25 P orque el que quiera salvar su vida (su alma), la perderá; pero el que pierda su vida (su alma) por causa de Mí, la hallará.

For whosoever would save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it.

26 P ues ¿qué provecho obtendrá un hombre si gana el mundo entero, pero pierde su alma? O ¿qué dará un hombre a cambio de su alma?

For what shall a man be profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? or what shall a man give in exchange for his life?

27 P orque el Hijo del Hombre ha de venir en la gloria de Su Padre con Sus ángeles, y entonces recompensara a cada uno segun su conducta.

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall he render unto every man according to his deeds.

28 “ En verdad les digo que hay algunos de los que están aquí que no probarán la muerte hasta que vean al Hijo del Hombre venir en Su reino.”

Verily I say unto you, there are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
