1 D espués de la muerte de Abimelec para salvar a Israel se levantó Tola, hijo de Puá, hijo de Dodo, varón de Isacar. Y habitó en Samir, en la región montañosa de Efraín.

And after Abimelech there arose to save Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in the hill-country of Ephraim.

2 T ola juzgó a Israel veintitrés años. Y murió y fue sepultado en Samir.

And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.

3 Y tras él se levantó Jair el Galaadita, y juzgó a Israel veintidós años.

And after him arose Jair, the Gileadite; and he judged Israel twenty and two years.

4 E ste tuvo treinta hijos que cabalgaban en treinta asnos, y tenían treinta ciudades en la tierra de Galaad que se llaman Havot Jair (las aldeas de Jair) hasta hoy.

And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havvoth-jair unto this day, which are in the land of Gilead.

5 Y murió Jair, y fue sepultado en Camón. Opresión Amonita

And Jair died, and was buried in Kamon.

6 P ero los Israelitas volvieron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos del Señor. Sirvieron a los Baales, a Astarot, a los dioses de Aram, a los dioses de Sidón, a los dioses de Moab, a los dioses de los Amonitas y a los dioses de los Filisteos. Abandonaron, pues, al Señor y no le sirvieron.

And the children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and served the Baalim, and the Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Sidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook Jehovah, and served him not.

7 E ntonces se encendió la ira del Señor contra Israel, y los entregó en manos de los Filisteos y en manos de los Amonitas.

And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the children of Ammon.

8 Y ellos afligieron y quebrantaron a los Israelitas ese año. Y por dieciocho años oprimieron a todos los Israelitas que estaban al otro lado del Jordán, en Galaad, en la tierra de los Amorreos.

And they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel that year: eighteen years oppressed they all the children of Israel that were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

9 L os Amonitas cruzaron el Jordán para pelear también contra Judá, contra Benjamín y contra la casa de Efraín, y se angustió Israel en gran manera.

And the children of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed.

10 E ntonces los Israelitas clamaron al Señor: “Hemos pecado contra Ti, porque ciertamente hemos abandonado a nuestro Dios y hemos servido a los Baales.”

And the children of Israel cried unto Jehovah, saying, We have sinned against thee, even because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baalim.

11 Y el Señor respondió a los Israelitas: “¿No los libré Yo de los Egipcios, de los Amorreos, de los Amonitas y de los Filisteos?

And Jehovah said unto the children of Israel, Did not I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

12 C uando los Sidonios, los Amalecitas y los Maonitas los oprimían, clamaron a Mí, y Yo los libré de sus manos.

The Sidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried unto me, and I saved you out of their hand.

13 P ero ustedes Me han dejado y han servido a otros dioses. Por tanto, no los libraré más.

Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will save you no more.

14 V ayan y clamen a los dioses que han escogido; que ellos los libren en el tiempo de su aflicción.”

Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.

15 L os Israelitas respondieron al Señor: “Hemos pecado, haz con nosotros como bien te parezca. Sólo te rogamos que nos libres en este día.”

And the children of Israel said unto Jehovah, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; only deliver us, we pray thee, this day.

16 Y quitaron los dioses extranjeros de en medio de ellos y sirvieron al Señor. Y El no pudo soportar más la angustia de Israel.

And they put away the foreign gods from among them, and served Jehovah; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

17 E ntonces los Amonitas se reunieron y acamparon en Galaad, y los Israelitas se juntaron y acamparon en Mizpa.

Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpah.

18 Y el pueblo, los jefes de Galaad, se dijeron unos a otros: “¿Quién es el hombre que comenzará la batalla contra los Amonitas? El será caudillo de todos los habitantes de Galaad.”

And the people, the princes of Gilead, said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
