1 C uando Abram tenía noventa y nueve años, el Señor se le apareció, y le dijo: “Yo soy el Dios Todopoderoso; Anda delante de Mí, y sé perfecto.

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

2 Y o estableceré Mi pacto contigo, Y te multiplicaré en gran manera.”

And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

3 E ntonces Abram se postró sobre su rostro y Dios habló con él:

And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

4 “ En cuanto a Mí, ahora Mi pacto es contigo, Y serás padre de multitud de naciones.

As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be the father of a multitude of nations.

5 Y no serás llamado más Abram (Padre Enaltecido); Sino que tu nombre será Abraham (Padre de Multitud); Porque Yo te haré padre de multitud de naciones.

Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee.

6 T e haré fecundo en gran manera, y de ti haré naciones, y de ti saldrán reyes.

And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

7 “ Estableceré Mi pacto contigo y con tu descendencia después de ti, por todas sus generaciones, por pacto eterno, de ser Dios tuyo y de toda tu descendencia después de ti.

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee.

8 Y te daré a ti, y a tu descendencia después de ti, la tierra de tus peregrinaciones, toda la tierra de Canaán como posesión perpetua. Y Yo seré su Dios.” La Circuncisión como Señal del Pacto

And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land of thy sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

9 D ijo además Dios a Abraham: “Tú, pues, guardarás Mi pacto, tú y tu descendencia después de ti, por sus generaciones.

And God said unto Abraham, And as for thee, thou shalt keep my covenant, thou, and thy seed after thee throughout their generations.

10 E ste es Mi pacto con ustedes y tu descendencia después de ti y que ustedes guardarán: Todo varón de entre ustedes será circuncidado.

This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee: every male among you shall be circumcised.

11 S erán circuncidados en la carne de su prepucio, y esto será la señal de Mi pacto con ustedes.

And ye shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of a covenant betwixt me and you.

12 “ A la edad de ocho días será circuncidado entre ustedes todo varón por sus generaciones; asimismo el siervo nacido en tu casa, o que sea comprado con dinero a cualquier extranjero, que no sea de tu descendencia.

And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male throughout your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any foreigner that is not of thy seed.

13 C iertamente ha de ser circuncidado el siervo nacido en tu casa o el comprado con tu dinero. Así estará Mi pacto en la carne de ustedes como pacto perpetuo.

He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

14 P ero el varón incircunciso, que no es circuncidado en la carne de su prepucio, esa persona será cortada de entre su pueblo. Ha quebrantado Mi pacto.”

And the uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

15 E ntonces Dios dijo a Abraham: “A Sarai, tu mujer, no la llamarás Sarai, sino que Sara (Princesa) será su nombre.

And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

16 L a bendeciré, y de cierto te daré un hijo por medio de ella. La bendeciré y será madre de naciones. Reyes de pueblos vendrán de ella.”

And I will bless her, and moreover I will give thee a son of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be of her.

17 E ntonces Abraham se postró sobre su rostro y se rió, y dijo en su corazón: “¿A un hombre de cien años le nacerá un hijo? ¿Y Sara, que tiene noventa años, concebirá ?”

Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

18 Y Abraham dijo a Dios: “¡Ojalá que Ismael viva delante de Ti!”

And Abraham said unto God, Oh that Ishmael might live before thee!

19 P ero Dios respondió: “No, sino que Sara, tu mujer, te dará un hijo, y le pondrás el nombre de Isaac; y estableceré Mi pacto con él, pacto perpetuo para su descendencia después de él.

And God said, Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.

20 E n cuanto a Ismael, te he oído. Yo lo bendeciré y lo haré fecundo y lo multiplicaré en gran manera. El será el padre de doce príncipes y haré de él una gran nación.

And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

21 P ero Mi pacto lo estableceré con Isaac, el hijo que Sara te dará por este tiempo el año que viene.”

But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

22 C uando terminó de hablar con él, Dios ascendió dejando a Abraham.

And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

23 E ntonces Abraham tomó a su hijo Ismael y a todos los siervos nacidos en su casa y a todos los que habían sido comprados con su dinero, a todo varón de entre las personas de la casa de Abraham, y aquel mismo día les circuncidó la carne de su prepucio, tal como Dios le había dicho.

And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.

24 A braham tenía noventa y nueve años cuando fue circuncidado,

And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

25 y su hijo Ismael tenía trece años cuando fue circuncidado.

And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

26 E n el mismo día fueron circuncidados Abraham y su hijo Ismael.

In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.

27 T ambién fueron circuncidados con él todos los varones de su casa, que habían nacido en la casa o que habían sido comprados a extranjeros.

And all the men of his house, those born in the house, and those bought with money of a foreigner, were circumcised with him.
