1 E ntonces Jesús, seis días antes de la Pascua, vino a Betania donde estaba Lázaro, al que Jesús había resucitado de entre los muertos.

Jesus therefore six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus raised from the dead.

2 Y Le hicieron una cena allí, y Marta servía; pero Lázaro era uno de los que estaban a la mesa con El.

So they made him a supper there: and Martha served; but Lazarus was one of them that sat at meat with him.

3 E ntonces María, tomando unos 300 gramos de perfume de nardo puro que costaba mucho, ungió los pies de Jesús, y se los secó con los cabellos, y la casa se llenó con la fragancia del perfume.

Mary therefore took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.

4 Y Judas Iscariote, uno de Sus discípulos, el que Lo iba a entregar (traicionar), dijo:

But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, that should betray him, saith,

5 “ ¿Por qué no se vendió este perfume por 300 denarios (salario de 300 días) y se dio a los pobres?”

Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred shillings, and given to the poor?

6 P ero dijo esto, no porque se preocupara por los pobres, sino porque era un ladrón, y como tenía la bolsa del dinero, sustraía de lo que se echaba en ella.

Now this he said, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the bag took away what was put therein.

7 E ntonces Jesús dijo: “Déjala, para que lo guarde para el día de Mi sepultura.

Jesus therefore said, Suffer her to keep it against the day of my burying.

8 P orque a los pobres siempre los tendrán con ustedes; pero a Mí no siempre Me tendrán.” Conspiración para Matar a Lázaro

For the poor ye have always with you; but me ye have not always.

9 E ntonces la gran multitud de Judíos se enteró de que Jesús estaba allí; y vinieron no sólo por causa de Jesús, sino también por ver a Lázaro, a quien había resucitado de entre los muertos.

The common people therefore of the Jews learned that he was there: and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

10 P ero los principales sacerdotes resolvieron matar también a Lázaro;

But the chief priests took counsel that they might put Lazarus also to death;

11 p orque por causa de él muchos de los Judíos se apartaban y creían en Jesús. La Entrada Triunfal

because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

12 A l día siguiente, cuando la gran multitud que había venido a la fiesta, oyó que Jesús venía a Jerusalén,

On the morrow a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

13 t omaron hojas de las palmas y salieron a recibir a Jesús, y gritaban: “¡Hosanna! Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor, el Rey de Israel.”

took the branches of the palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried out, Hosanna: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel.

14 J esús, hallando un asnillo, se montó en él; como está escrito:

And Jesus, having found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,

15 “ No temas, mira, Sion; he aqui, tu Rey viene, montado en un pollino de asna.”

Fear not, daughter of Zion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.

16 S us discípulos no entendieron esto al principio, pero después, cuando Jesús fue glorificado, entonces se acordaron de que esto se había escrito de El, y de que Le habían hecho estas cosas.

These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

17 Y así, la multitud que estaba con Jesús cuando llamó a Lázaro del sepulcro y lo resucitó de entre los muertos, daba testimonio de El.

The multitude therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb, and raised him from the dead, bare witness.

18 P or eso la multitud fue también a recibir a Jesús, porque habían oído que El había hecho esta señal (este milagro).

For this cause also the multitude went and met him, for that they heard that he had done this sign.

19 E ntonces los Fariseos se decían unos a otros: “¿Ven que ustedes no consiguen nada? Miren, todo el mundo se ha ido tras El.” Unos Griegos Buscan a Jesús

The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Behold how ye prevail nothing: lo, the world is gone after him.

20 H abía unos Griegos entre los que subían a adorar en la fiesta;

Now there were certain Greeks among those that went up to worship at the feast:

21 é stos fueron a Felipe, que era de Betsaida de Galilea, y le rogaban: “Señor, queremos ver a Jesús.”

these therefore came to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

22 F elipe fue y se lo dijo a Andrés; Andrés y Felipe fueron y se lo dijeron a Jesús.

Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: Andrew cometh, and Philip, and they tell Jesus.

23 J esús les respondió: “Ha llegado la hora para que el Hijo del Hombre sea glorificado.

And Jesus answereth them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

24 E n verdad les digo que si el grano de trigo no cae en tierra y muere, queda él solo; pero si muere, produce mucho fruto.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a grain of wheat fall into the earth and die, it abideth by itself alone; but if it die, it beareth much fruit.

25 E l que ama su vida (alma) la pierde; y el que aborrece su vida (alma) en este mundo, la conservará para vida eterna.

He that loveth his life loseth it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

26 S i alguien Me sirve, que Me siga; y donde Yo estoy, allí también estará Mi servidor; si alguien Me sirve, el Padre lo honrará. Jesús Anuncia Su Muerte

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honor.

27 “ Ahora Mi alma se ha angustiado; y ¿qué diré: ‘Padre, sálvame de esta hora ’? Pero para esto he llegado a esta hora.

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this cause came I unto this hour.

28 P adre, glorifica Tu nombre.” Entonces vino una voz del cielo: “Y Lo he glorificado, y de nuevo Lo glorificaré.”

Father, glorify thy name. There came therefore a voice out of heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

29 P or eso la multitud que estaba allí y oyó la voz, decía que había sido un trueno; otros decían: “Un ángel Le ha hablado.”

The multitude therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it had thundered: others said, An angel hath spoken to him.

30 J esús les dijo: “Esta voz no ha venido por causa Mía, sino por causa de ustedes.

Jesus answered and said, This voice hath not come for my sake, but for your sakes.

31 Y a está aquí el juicio de este mundo; ahora el príncipe de este mundo será echado fuera.

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

32 P ero Yo, si soy levantado de la tierra, atraeré a todos a Mí mismo.”

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself.

33 P ero El decía esto para indicar la clase de muerte que iba a morir.

But this he said, signifying by what manner of death he should die.

34 E ntonces la multitud Le respondió: “Hemos oído en la Ley que el Cristo (el Mesías) permanecerá para siempre; ¿y cómo dices Tú: ‘El Hijo del Hombre tiene que ser levantado ’ ? ¿Quién es este Hijo del Hombre?”

The multitude therefore answered him, We have heard out of the law that the Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

35 J esús entonces les dijo: “Todavía, por un poco de tiempo, la Luz estará entre ustedes. Caminen mientras tengan la Luz, para que no los sorprendan las tinieblas; el que anda en la oscuridad no sabe adónde va.

Jesus therefore said unto them, Yet a little while is the light among you. Walk while ye have the light, that darkness overtake you not: and he that walketh in the darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

36 M ientras tienen la Luz, crean en la Luz, para que sean hijos de la Luz.” Estas cosas habló Jesús, y se fue y se ocultó de ellos.

While ye have the light, believe on the light, that ye may become sons of light. These things spake Jesus, and he departed and hid himself from them.

37 P ero aunque había hecho tantas señales delante de ellos, no creían en El,

But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they believed not on him:

38 p ara que se cumpliera la palabra del profeta Isaías, que dijo: “ Señor, ¿quien ha creido a nuestro anuncio ? ¿Y a quien se ha revelado el brazo del Señor ?”

that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

39 P or eso no podían creer, porque Isaías dijo también:

For this cause they could not believe, for that Isaiah said again,

40 “ El ha cegado sus ojos y endurecido su corazon, para que no vean con los ojos y entiendan con el corazon, y se conviertan y Yo los sane.”

He hath blinded their eyes, and he hardened their heart; Lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, And should turn, And I should heal them.

41 E sto dijo Isaías porque vio Su gloria, y habló de El.

These things said Isaiah, because he saw his glory; and he spake of him.

42 S in embargo, muchos, aun de los gobernantes, creyeron en El, pero por causa de los Fariseos no lo confesaban, para no ser expulsados de la sinagoga.

Nevertheless even of the rulers many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

43 P orque amaban más el reconocimiento de los hombres que el reconocimiento de Dios. Juzgados por la Palabra de Jesús

for they loved the glory that is of men more than the glory that is of God.

44 E ntonces Jesús exclamó: “El que cree en Mí, no cree en Mí, sino en Aquél que Me ha enviado.

And Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

45 Y el que Me ve, ve a Aquél que Me ha enviado.

And he that beholdeth me beholdeth him that sent me.

46 Y o, la Luz, he venido al mundo, para que todo el que cree en Mí no permanezca en tinieblas.

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me may not abide in the darkness.

47 S i alguno oye Mis palabras y no las guarda, Yo no lo juzgo; porque no vine a juzgar al mundo, sino a salvar al mundo.

And if any man hear my sayings, and keep them not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 E l que Me rechaza y no recibe Mis palabras, tiene quien lo juzgue; la palabra que he hablado, ésa lo juzgará en el día final.

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day.

49 P orque Yo no he hablado por Mi propia cuenta, sino que el Padre mismo que Me ha enviado Me ha dado mandamiento sobre lo que he de decir y lo que he de hablar.

For I spake not from myself; but the Father that sent me, he hath given me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

50 Y sé que Su mandamiento es vida eterna; por eso lo que Yo hablo, lo hablo tal como el Padre Me lo ha dicho.”

And I know that his commandment is life eternal: the things therefore which I speak, even as the Father hath said unto me, so I speak.
