1 Y HABLO David á Jehová las palabras de este cántico, el día que Jehová le había librado de la mano de todos sus enemigos, y de la mano de Saúl.

And David spoke the words of this song to the Lord in the day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

2 Y dijo: Jehová es mi roca, y mi fortaleza, y mi libertador;

He said, “ The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;

3 D ios de mi roca, en él confiaré: Mi escudo, y el cuerno de mi salud, mi fortaleza, y mi refugio; Mi salvador, que me librarás de violencia.

My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; My savior, You save me from violence.

4 I nvocaré á Jehová, digno de ser loado. Y seré salvo de mis enemigos.

“I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, And I am saved from my enemies.

5 C uando me cercaron ondas de muerte, Y arroyos de iniquidad me asombraron,

“For the waves of death encompassed me; The torrents of destruction overwhelmed me;

6 M e rodearon los dolores del infierno, Y me tomaron descuidado lazos de muerte.

The cords of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.

7 T uve angustia, invoqué á Jehová, Y clamé á mi Dios: Y él oyó mi voz desde su templo; Llegó mi clamor á sus oídos.

“ In my distress I called upon the Lord, Yes, I cried to my God; And from His temple He heard my voice, And my cry for help came into His ears.

8 L a tierra se removió, y tembló; Los fundamentos de los cielos fueron movidos, Y se estremecieron, porque él se airó.

“Then the earth shook and quaked, The foundations of heaven were trembling And were shaken, because He was angry.

9 S ubió humo de sus narices, Y de su boca fuego consumidor, Por el cual se encendieron carbones.

“Smoke went up out of His nostrils, Fire from His mouth devoured; Coals were kindled by it.

10 Y abajo los cielos, y descendió: Una oscuridad debajo de sus pies.

“He bowed the heavens also, and came down With thick darkness under His feet.

11 S ubió sobre el querubín, y voló: Aparecióse sobre las alas del viento.

“ And He rode on a cherub and flew; And He appeared on the wings of the wind.

12 P uso tinieblas alrededor de sí á modo de pabellones; Aguas negras y espesas nubes.

“ And He made darkness canopies around Him, A mass of waters, thick clouds of the sky.

13 D el resplandor de su presencia Se encendieron ascuas ardientes.

“From the brightness before Him Coals of fire were kindled.

14 J ehová tronó desde los cielos, Y el Altísimo dió su voz;

“ The Lord thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice.

15 A rrojó saetas, y desbaratólos; Relampagueó, y consumiólos.

“ And He sent out arrows, and scattered them, Lightning, and routed them.

16 E ntonces aparecieron los manantiales de la mar, Y los fundamentos del mundo fueron descubiertos, A la reprensión de Jehová, Al resoplido del aliento de su nariz.

“Then the channels of the sea appeared, The foundations of the world were laid bare By the rebuke of the Lord, At the blast of the breath of His nostrils.

17 E xtendió su mano de lo alto, y arrebatóme, Y sacóme de copiosas aguas.

“ He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.

18 L ibróme de fuertes enemigos, De aquellos que me aborrecían, los cuales eran más fuertes que yo.

“He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, for they were too strong for me.

19 A saltáronme en el día de mi calamidad; Mas Jehová fué mi sostén.

“They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my support.

20 S acóme á anchura; Libróme, porque puso su voluntad en mí.

“ He also brought me forth into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me.

21 R emuneróme Jehová conforme á mi justicia: Y conforme á la limpieza de mis manos, me dió la paga.

“ The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me.

22 P orque yo guardé los caminos de Jehová; Y no me aparté impíamente de mi Dios.

“ For I have kept the ways of the Lord, And have not acted wickedly against my God.

23 P orque delante de mí tengo todas sus ordenanzas; Y atento á sus fueros, no me retiraré de ellos.

“ For all His ordinances were before me, And as for His statutes, I did not depart from them.

24 Y fuí íntegro para con él, Y guardéme de mi iniquidad.

“ I was also blameless toward Him, And I kept myself from my iniquity.

25 R emuneróme por tanto Jehová conforme á mi justicia, Y conforme á mi limpieza delante de sus ojos.

“ Therefore the Lord has recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to my cleanness before His eyes.

26 C on el bueno eres benigno, Y con el íntegro te muestras íntegro;

“ With the kind You show Yourself kind, With the blameless You show Yourself blameless;

27 L impio eres para con el limpio, Mas con el perverso eres rígido.

With the pure You show Yourself pure, And with the perverted You show Yourself astute.

28 Y tú salvas al pueblo humilde; Mas tus ojos sobre los altivos, para abatirlos.

“ And You save an afflicted people; But Your eyes are on the haughty whom You abase.

29 P orque tú eres mi lámpara, oh Jehová: Jehová da luz á mis tinieblas.

“ For You are my lamp, O Lord; And the Lord illumines my darkness.

30 P orque en ti romperé ejércitos, Y con mi Dios saltaré las murallas.

“ For by You I can run upon a troop; By my God I can leap over a wall.

31 D ios, perfecto su camino: La palabra de Jehová purificada, Escudo es de todos los que en él esperan.

“ As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is tested; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

32 P orque ¿qué Dios hay sino Jehová? ¿O quién es fuerte sino nuestro Dios?

“ For who is God, besides the Lord ? And who is a rock, besides our God?

33 D ios es el que con virtud me corrobora, y el que despeja mi camino;

“ God is my strong fortress; And He sets the blameless in His way.

34 E l que hace mis pies como de ciervas, Y el que me asienta en mis alturas;

“ He makes my feet like hinds’ feet, And sets me on my high places.

35 E l que enseña mis manos para la pelea, y da que con mis brazos quiebre el arco de acero.

“ He trains my hands for battle, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

36 T ú me diste asimismo el escudo de tu salud, Y tu benignidad me ha acrecentado.

“You have also given me the shield of Your salvation, And Your help makes me great.

37 T ú ensanchaste mis pasos debajo de mí, Para que no titubeasen mis rodillas.

“ You enlarge my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.

38 P erseguiré á mis enemigos, y quebrantarélos; Y no me volveré hasta que los acabe.

“I pursued my enemies and destroyed them, And I did not turn back until they were consumed.

39 L os consumiré, y los heriré, y no se levantarán; Y caerán debajo de mis pies.

“And I have devoured them and shattered them, so that they did not rise; And they fell under my feet.

40 C eñísteme de fortaleza para la batalla, Y postraste debajo de mí los que contra mí se levantaron.

“For You have girded me with strength for battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.

41 T ú me diste la cerviz de mis enemigos, De mis aborrecedores, y que yo los destruyese.

“You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, And I destroyed those who hated me.

42 M iraron, y no hubo quien los librase; A Jehová, mas no les respondió.

“ They looked, but there was none to save; Even to the Lord, but He did not answer them.

43 Y o los desmenuzaré como polvo de la tierra; Hollarélos como á lodo de las plazas, y los disiparé.

“ Then I pulverized them as the dust of the earth; I crushed and stamped them as the mire of the streets.

44 T ú me libraste de contiendas de pueblos: Tú me guardaste para que fuese cabeza de gentes: Pueblos que no conocía, me sirvieron.

“ You have also delivered me from the contentions of my people; You have kept me as head of the nations; A people whom I have not known serve me.

45 L os extraños titubeaban á mí: En oyendo, me obedecían.

“ Foreigners pretend obedience to me; As soon as they hear, they obey me.

46 L os extraños desfallecían, Y temblaban en sus escondrijos.

“Foreigners lose heart, And come trembling out of their fortresses.

47 V iva Jehová, y sea bendita mi roca; Sea ensalzado el Dios, la roca de mi salvamento:

“The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock; And exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,

48 E l Dios que me ha vengado, Y sujeta los pueblos debajo de mí:

The God who executes vengeance for me, And brings down peoples under me,

49 Y que me saca de entre mis enemigos: Tu me sacaste en alto de entre los que se levantaron contra mi: Librásteme del varón de iniquidades.

Who also brings me out from my enemies; You even lift me above those who rise up against me; You rescue me from the violent man.

50 P or tanto yo te confesaré entre las gentes, oh Jehová, Y cantaré á tu nombre.

“ Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the nations, And I will sing praises to Your name.

51 E l que engrandece las saludes de su rey, Y hace misericordia á su ungido, A David, y á su simiente, para siempre.

“ He is a tower of deliverance to His king, And shows lovingkindness to His anointed, To David and his descendants forever.”
