2 P or demás os es el madrugar á levantaros, el veniros tarde á reposar, El comer pan de dolores: Pues que á su amado dará Dios el sueño.

It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.

3 H e aquí, heredad de Jehová son los hijos: Cosa de estima el fruto del vientre.

Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

4 C omo saetas en mano del valiente, Así son los hijos habidos en la juventud.

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

5 B ienaventurado el hombre que hinchió su aljaba de ellos: No será avergonzado Cuando hablare con los enemigos en la puerta.

How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies in the gate.
