1 D avid I-a dedicat Domnului cuvintele acestui cântec în ziua în care Domnul l-a izbăvit din mâna tuturor duşmanilor lui şi din mâna lui Saul.

And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

2 E l a zis: „ Domnul este stânca mea, fortăreaţa mea şi izbăvitorul meu!

and he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

3 D umnezeu este stânca mea în Care mă adăpostesc, scutul meu, cornul mântuirii mele, întăritura mea, scăparea mea şi mântuitorul meu! Tu mă scapi de asuprire!

the God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

4 E u Îl chem în ajutor pe Domnul, Care este vrednic de laudă, şi sunt izbăvit de duşmanii mei.

I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

5 M ă înfăşuraseră valurile morţii, mă copleşiseră şuvoaiele nimicirii!

When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

6 L egăturile Locuinţei Morţilor mă împresuraseră, mă prinseseră laţurile morţii.

the sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

7 D ar în necazul meu L-am chemat pe Domnul, L-am chemat pe Dumnezeul meu. El mi-a ascultat glasul din Templul Său şi strigătul meu a ajuns până la urechile Sale.

in my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

8 A tunci s-a zguduit şi s-a cutremurat pământul, temeliile cerurilor s-au zgâlţâit, s-au clătinat, pentru că El se mâniase.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

9 F um se ridica din nările Lui şi foc mistuitor din gura Lui, cărbuni aprinşi ieşeau din ea.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

10 A aplecat cerurile şi a coborât; nori negri erau sub picioarele Lui.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

11 C ălărea pe un heruvim şi zbura; plutea pe aripile vântului.

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

12 Î ntunericul Şi-l aşternuse drept acoperământ, iar împrejurul Lui erau grămezi de ape şi nori deşi.

And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

13 D in strălucirea care se oglindea înaintea Sa ieşeau cărbuni aprinşi.

Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

14 D omnul a tunat din ceruri, Cel Preaînalt Şi-a făcut auzit glasul.

The Lord thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

15 A aruncat săgeţi, risipindu-i pe duşmani, a trimis fulgerul şi i-a pus pe fugă.

And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

16 L a mustrarea Domnului, la suflarea nărilor Lui, s-au văzut albiile apelor şi s-au descoperit temeliile lumii.

And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

17 E l S-a întins din înălţime şi m-a apucat, m-a scos din apele cele mari,

He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

18 m -a izbăvit de duşmanul meu cel puternic şi de vrăjmaşii mei, căci erau mai tari decât mine.

he delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

19 E i m-au înfruntat în ziua necazului meu, dar Domnul mi-a fost sprijin.

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.

20 E l m-a scos la loc larg, m-a izbăvit pentru că El îşi găseşte plăcerea în mine.

He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

21 D omnul mi-a răsplătit după dreptatea mea, mi-a făcut după curăţia mâinilor mele,

The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

22 c ăci am păzit căile Domnului şi nu m-am făcut vinovat faţă de Dumnezeul meu;

For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23 t oate judecăţile Lui sunt înaintea mea şi nu m-am depărtat de hotărârile Lui;

For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

24 a m fost fără pată înaintea Lui şi m-am păzit de nelegiuire.

I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

25 D omnul mi-a răsplătit după dreptatea mea, după curăţia mea înaintea ochilor Săi.

Therefore the Lord hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

26 C u cel credincios, Tu Te arăţi credincios, cu cel drept, Tu Te arăţi drept;

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

27 c u cel curat, Tu Te arăţi curat, dar cu cel înşelător, Tu Te arăţi împotrivitor.

With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

28 T u mântuieşti poporul smerit, dar cu privirea Ta îl smereşti pe cel trufaş.

And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

29 T u eşti candela mea, Doamne! Domnul îmi luminează întunericul.

For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.

30 C u Tine mă năpustesc asupra năvălitorilor, cu Dumnezeul meu sar peste zidul întărit.

For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

31 C ât despre Dumnezeu, Calea Lui este desăvârşită, Cuvântul Domnului este încercat; El este un scut pentru toţi cei ce se încred în El.

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

32 C ine este Dumnezeu în afară de Domnul ? Cine este Stâncă în afară de Dumnezeul nostru?

For who is God, save the Lord ? and who is a rock, save our God?

33 D umnezeu este cetăţuia mea cea tare şi El mi-a făcut desăvârşită calea.

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

34 E l mi-a întărit picioarele ca ale ciutelor şi m-a aşezat pe înălţimi.

He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

35 Î mi deprinde mâinile pentru luptă, astfel încât braţele mele întind arcul de aramă.

He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

36 T u îmi dai scutul mântuirii Tale şi ajutorul Tău mă face mare.

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

37 T u-mi lărgeşti calea sub paşii mei, ca să nu-mi alunece picioarele.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

38 Î mi urmăresc duşmanii şi-i nimicesc, nu mă întorc până nu-i prăpădesc.

I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

39 Î i distrug şi îi zdrobesc de nu se mai ridică; ei cad sub picioarele mele.

And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

40 T u mă încingi cu tărie pentru luptă şi-i smereşti pe vrăjmaşii mei sub picioarele mele.

For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

41 T u faci ca duşmanii mei să fugă dinaintea mea şi pe cei ce mă urăsc îi nimicesc.

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

42 E i se uită în jur, dar nimeni nu-i izbăveşte, strigă către Domnul, dar El nu le răspunde.

They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

43 Î i pisez ca praful pământului, ca noroiul de pe uliţe îi zdrobesc, îi strivesc.

Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

44 T u mă scapi de învinuirile poporului meu, mă păstrezi drept căpetenie a neamurilor; un popor pe care nu-l cunosc îmi slujeşte.

Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

45 F iii străinului mă linguşesc; de îndată ce mă aud, mă ascultă.

Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

46 F iii străinului îngălbenesc şi ies tremurând din fortăreţele lor.

Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

47 D omnul este viu! Binecuvântată să fie Stânca mea! Mărit să fie Dumnezeu, Stânca mântuirii mele!

The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

48 D umnezeu este Cel Ce mă răzbună, Cel Care îmi supune popoare,

It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,

49 C el Ce mă izbăveşte de vrăjmaşii mei. Tu mă ridici deasupra duşmanilor mei; Tu mă scapi de omul asupritor.

and that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

50 D e aceea Te voi lăuda printre neamuri, Doamne, şi voi cânta laudă Numelui Tău!

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

51 E l dă mari izbăviri regelui Său şi dă îndurare unsului Său, lui David şi seminţei lui în veac.“

He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
