1 Î n faţa acestor lucruri, inima îmi tremură şi saltă din locul ei.

At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

2 A scultaţi! Ascultaţi tunetul glasului Său şi bubuitul care iese din gura Sa!

Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

3 Î şi desfăşoară fulgerul sub cerul întreg şi-l trimite până la marginile pământului.

He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

4 A poi se aude vuietul glasului Său; El tună cu glasul Său măreţ. Când I se aude glasul, El nu opreşte fulgerele.

After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

5 V ocea lui Dumnezeu tună într-un mod deosebit; El face fapte măreţe, dincolo de înţelegerea noastră.

God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

6 E l spune zăpezii: «Cazi pe pământ!» şi ploii: «Fii o ploaie puternică!»

For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

7 E l îl opreşte pe orice om din lucrul lui, pentru ca toţi oamenii să recunoască lucrarea Lui.

He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

8 A tunci animalele se duc la adăpostul lor şi rămân în vizuinile lor.

Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

9 V ijelia iese din odaia sa şi frigul din vânturile cele năprasnice.

Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

10 S uflarea lui Dumnezeu face gheaţa şi îngheaţă apele mari.

By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

11 E l încarcă norii grei cu umezeală; împrăştie norii cu fulgerul Său.

Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:

12 E i se mişcă după călăuzirea Lui şi fac tot ceea ce le porunceşte pe faţa întregului pământ.

and it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.

13 E l aduce norii ca să-i pedepsească pe oameni sau să ude pământul Său şi să-Şi arate îndurarea.

He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

14 I ov, ia aminte la aceasta! Stai şi cugetă la minunile lui Dumnezeu!

Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

15 Ş tii tu cum conduce Dumnezeu norii şi cum face să strălucească fulgerul Său?

Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

16 Ş tii tu cum plutesc norii? Înţelegi tu minunile Celui Desăvârşit în cunoştinţă?

Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?

17 Ş tii tu de ce ţi se încălzesc hainele, când pământul se odihneşte de vântul dinspre sud?

How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

18 P oţi tu să întinzi cerurile ca El, tari ca o oglindă turnată?

Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

19 « Învaţă-ne ce trebuie să-I spunem! Din pricina întunericului nu ştim să ne apărăm cauza.»

Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

20 C ine Îi va spune că vreau să-I vorbesc? Va vrea cineva să-I vorbească ca să fie înghiţit?

Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

21 N imeni nu poate privi cum străluceşte soarele în ceruri, după ce vântul le-a înseninat.

And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

22 E l vine din nord într-o splendoare de aur; împrejurul lui Dumnezeu este o măreţie înfricoşătoare.

Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.

23 C el Atotputernic este dincolo de înţelegerea noastră. Este măreţ în putere, în judecată şi în dreptate. El nu va asupri.

Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

24 D e aceea oamenii se tem de El; da, toţi cei cu inima înţeleaptă se vor teme de El.“

Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
