1 D omnul le-a zis lui Moise şi lui Aaron:

And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

2 „ Aceasta este o poruncă a Legii pe care Domnul a dat-o: spune-le israeliţilor să aducă o vacă roşie, sănătoasă, care să nu aibă nici o meteahnă şi care n-a fost pusă încă la jug.

This is the ordinance of the law which the Lord hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:

3 S ă o daţi preotului Elazar; el s-o ducă afară din tabără şi cineva s-o înjunghie înaintea lui.

and ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:

4 P reotul Elazar să ia din sângele ei cu degetul şi să stropească de şapte ori înaintea Cortului Întâlnirii.

and Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:

5 A poi vaca să fie arsă înaintea lui; să fie arse pielea, carnea, sângele şi balega.

and one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:

6 P reotul să ia lemn de cedru, isop şi fir de culoare cărămizie şi să le arunce în focul în care este arsă vaca.

and the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.

7 A poi preotul să-şi spele hainele şi să-şi scalde trupul în apă; după aceea poate veni în tabără. Dar va rămâne necurat până seara.

Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.

8 D e asemenea, cel care arde vaca trebuie să-şi spele hainele şi să-şi scalde trupul în apă; el va rămâne necurat până seara.

And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.

9 D upă aceea, un om care este curat trebuie să adune cenuşa vacii şi să o pună într-un loc curat, în afara taberei; să fie păstrată pentru adunarea israeliţilor pentru apa de curăţire. Este pentru curăţirea de păcat.

And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.

10 C el care adună cenuşa vacii să-şi spele hainele şi va fi necurat până seara. Aceasta să fie o poruncă veşnică pentru israeliţi şi pentru străinul care locuieşte între ei.

And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.

11 C el care atinge trupul mort al cuiva va fi necurat şapte zile.

He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.

12 S ă se cureţe cu apă în ziua a treia şi a şaptea; dacă nu se va curăţi în ziua a treia şi în a şaptea, nu va fi curat.

He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.

13 O ricine atinge un mort, trupul vreunui om care a murit, şi nu se va curăţi pângăreşte Tabernaculul Domnului. Omul acela să fie nimicit din Israel. Să fie necurat pentru că n-a fost stropit cu apă de curăţire; necurăţia lui rămâne asupra lui.

Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the Lord; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.

14 A ceasta este legea când un om moare într-un cort: toţi aceia care intră în cort şi toţi aceia care sunt în cort vor fi necuraţi şapte zile;

This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.

15 ş i orice vas deschis care nu are capacul pus va fi necurat.

And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.

16 O ricine atinge, pe câmpul larg, un om care a fost ucis de sabie sau a murit sau care atinge osemintele vreunui om sau un mormânt, va fi necurat şapte zile.

And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

17 P entru cel necurat să se ia din cenuşa vacii arse pentru curăţirea de păcat şi să se pună apă curgătoare peste ea, într-un vas.

And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:

18 U n om curat să ia isop, să-l înmoaie în apă şi să stropească cortul, toate vasele, pe cei care erau acolo şi pe cel care s-a atins de osemintele vreunui om sau de vreun om ucis sau de vreun om care a murit sau de vreun mormânt.

and a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:

19 C el curat să-l stropească pe cel necurat în a treia şi a şaptea zi şi să-l cureţe astfel în a şaptea zi. Apoi cel necurat să-şi spele hainele şi să se scalde în apă, iar seara va fi curat.

and the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.

20 O rice om care este necurat şi nu se va curăţi să fie nimicit din adunare pentru că a pângărit Lăcaşul Domnului. Din cauză că n-a fost stropit cu apa de curăţire, el este necurat.

But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the Lord: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.

21 A ceasta să fie o poruncă veşnică pentru ei. De asemenea, cel care stropeşte cu apa de curăţire trebuie să-şi spele hainele, iar cel care atinge apa de curăţire va fi necurat până seara.

And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.

22 O rice lucru atins de cineva care este necurat va fi necurat şi oricine îl atinge va fi necurat până seara.“

And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.
