1 R egele Solomon a început zidirea Casei Domnului în al patrulea an al domniei lui peste Israel, în luna a doua, adică luna Ziv, după patru sute optzeci de ani de la ieşirea israeliţilor din ţara Egiptului.

And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord.

2 C asa pe care regele Solomon a zidit-o pentru Domnul avea şaizeci de coţi lungime, douăzeci de coţi lăţime şi treizeci de coţi înălţime.

And the house which king Solomon built for the Lord, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.

3 P orticul din faţa odăii principale a Casei se întindea pe toată lăţimea Casei, adică pe douăzeci de coţi, iar începând din faţa Casei, avea o lungime de zece coţi.

And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

4 S olomon a făcut Casei ferestre cu deschidere îngustă.

And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.

5 D e jur împrejurul zidului Casei, atât al odăii principale, cât şi al sanctuarului interior, el a zidit mai multe rânduri de odăi.

And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:

6 R ândul de jos era lat de cinci coţi, cel de la mijloc – de şase coţi, iar al treilea – de şapte coţi, pentru că în partea exterioară, de jur împrejurul Casei, a făcut nişte borduri, astfel încât grinzile care sprijineau odăile să nu fie fixate în zidurile Casei.

the nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.

7 L a zidirea Casei s-au folosit pietre cioplite la carieră, aşa încât nici ciocan, nici topor, nici o altă unealtă de fier nu s-a auzit în Casă în timpul zidirii.

And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

8 I ntrarea în odăile de jos era prin partea dreaptă a Casei, iar o scară urca până la nivelul din mijloc şi de acolo până la nivelul al treilea.

The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.

9 D upă ce a terminat de zidit Casa, a acoperit-o cu grinzi şi cu scânduri de cedru.

So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

10 F iecare dintre rândurile de odăi zidite de jur împrejurul Casei era de cinci coţi înălţime; ele erau legate de Casă prin căpriori de cedru.

And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

11 D upă aceea, cuvântul Domnului a venit la Solomon şi i-a zis:

And the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,

12 „ În ce priveşte această Casă pe care o zideşti, dacă vei umbla în legile Mele, dacă vei împlini hotărârile Mele şi vei păzi toate poruncile Mele, atunci voi împlini prin tine promisiunea pe care am făcut-o tatălui tău, David.

Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:

13 V oi locui în mijlocul israeliţilor şi nu-l voi părăsi pe poporul Meu, Israel.“

and I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

14 A stfel, Solomon a zidit Casa şi a terminat-o.

So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

15 E l a acoperit zidurile din partea interioară a Casei cu cedru, de la pardoseală până la tavan, iar pardoseala a acoperit-o cu scânduri de chiparos.

And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.

16 A acoperit cu scânduri de cedru o suprafaţă de douăzeci de coţi în partea din spate a Casei, de la pardoseală până la tavan, făcând un sanctuar interior, numit „Locul Preasfânt“.

And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.

17 O daia principală din faţă, aflată în interiorul Casei, era de patruzeci de coţi.

And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.

18 P e lemnul de cedru din interiorul Casei erau sculptate tărtăcuţe şi flori cu petale deschise. Totul era acoperit cu cedru, astfel încât nu se vedea nici o piatră.

And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

19 E l a pregătit sanctuarul interior înăuntrul Casei, ca să aşeze acolo Chivotul Legământului cu Domnul.

And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the Lord.

20 S anctuarul interior avea douăzeci de coţi lungime, douăzeci de coţi lăţime şi douăzeci de coţi înălţime. El l-a placat cu aur curat. De asemenea, a poleit cu aur altarul din lemn de cedru.

And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.

21 S olomon a placat partea dinăuntru a Casei cu aur curat şi a întins lănţişoare de aur înaintea sanctuarului interior, pe care l-a placat, de asemenea, cu aur curat.

So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.

22 A stfel, el a placat toată Casa cu aur curat, iar altarul care se afla în sanctuarul interior l-a poleit cu aur.

And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

23 Î n sanctuarul interior a aşezat doi heruvimi făcuţi din lemn de măslin, înalţi de zece coţi.

And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.

24 L ungimea fiecăreia dintre aripile primului heruvim era de cinci coţi, aşa încât de la capătul uneia până la capătul celeilalte era o lungime de zece coţi.

And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.

25 A l doilea heruvim avea o lungime de zece coţi; măsura şi forma erau aceleaşi pentru ambii heruvimi.

And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size.

26 Î nălţimea fiecăruia dintre cei doi heruvimi era de zece coţi.

The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.

27 S olomon a aşezat heruvimii în mijlocul sanctuarului interior, cu aripile întinse. Aripa unuia atingea un zid, aripa celui de-al doilea atingea celălalt zid, iar celelalte aripi ale lor se atingeau una de alta la mijlocul odăii.

And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

28 E l a poleit cu aur cei doi heruvimi.

And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.

29 P e toate zidurile Casei, de jur împrejur, atât în sanctuarul interior, cât şi în odaia principală, a sculptat heruvimi, palmieri şi flori cu petale deschise.

And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.

30 D e asemenea, el a placat cu aur şi pardoseala celor două odăi, din interiorul şi din faţa Casei.

And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

31 P entru intrarea în sanctuarul interior a făcut uşi din lemn de măslin, cu uşorii în cinci muchii.

And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.

32 P e cele două uşi din lemn de măslin a sculptat heruvimi, palmieri şi flori cu petale deschise, pe care le-a poleit cu aur. A poleit cu aur şi heruvimii şi palmierii.

The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.

33 A şa a făcut şi pentru intrarea în odaia principală: a făcut uşori din lemn de măslin, în patru muchii,

So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.

34 p recum şi două uşi din lemn de chiparos; fiecare uşă avea două canaturi şi se putea întoarce pe ţâţânii ei.

And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

35 A gravat pe ele heruvimi, palmieri şi flori cu petale deschise şi le-a poleit cu aur.

And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.

36 A poi a făcut zidul curţii interioare din trei rânduri de pietre cioplite şi un rând de grinzi de cedru.

And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.

37 T emelia Casei Domnului a fost pusă în al patrulea an, în luna Ziv,

In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the Lord laid, in the month Zif:

38 i ar Casa a fost terminată în toate detaliile şi după toate indicaţiile în al unsprezecelea an, în luna Bul, adică luna a opta. Solomon l-a zidit în şapte ani.

and in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
